“Ok so this is just a really nice little place. Feels like a place you can come back to and they will remember you. The server (Carlos) was super nice, just nothing negative to say whatsoever. The food was good. The general atmosphere was so very inviting.

Just such a nice little place.

I would have given it 5 stars but they don’t make meatballs… big sad. But the bruschetta is A+.

The person who served me was patient and professional, from our phone conversation all the way to the in-person order.

The place is clean, tidy, the team is great and the service was quick, I barely waited. Fresh ingredients.

I was going through a stressful situation as my flight at San Francisco Airport was disrupted and I had been given hotel and meal vouchers. Roma Deli accepted the meal vouchers without any hassle, which I really appreciated.

I would definitely recommend this place to international travelers staying nearby, or anyone simply looking for a great sandwich. Thank you“

“I had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day with a couple of friends. Our main plan was to attend the Sam Smith concert, so we stopped in for some pre-concert bites. The staff was incredibly accommodating, especially considering how busy Valentine's Day is for the restaurant industry. I always appreciate when servers help with recommendations, and our waitress was extremely helpful, suggesting delicious options even as we kept our meal light (we didn't want to be in a food coma during the concert!). “I'm a long time customer of this Heroic so this review is way overdue but I just had a really nice experience yesterday and thought it was time to share what I think of this little gem. The food is so good (sandwiches, the calabrian shrimp, the meatballs, and their gluten free pizza to name a few of my faves) but the customer service that you get from David (the owner of Heroic) makes it exceptional. I find that it's rare anymore in the restaurant industry to get the level of customer service you get from him. He is so kind and so accommodating. You can tell that he truly genuinely cares what your experience is. Customer experience like this makes repeat customer in itself. Doesn't hurt that his food is DELISH as well.“

“It’s great to have a casual dinner spot right in the Castro, perfect for dinner before a night out.

Went with a group of 6 and had no problem grabbing a table on a Saturday night. The service was quick, food was hot and fresh, and vibe was warm. Nothing flashy, but gets the job done.

The chicken marsala was really good, especially with the shaved Brussels sprouts and carrot — unusual, but delicious. The spaghetti con polpette is one of their signature dishes, and the meatballs are massive and filling.

My one recommendation would be to consider sharing the pastas - of the 4 people at our table who ordered pastas, none could finish them. The portions are huge!“

“Vittorio was our hero! We found ourselves out a caterer about a week before our wedding and by the greatest luck, Vittorio was available on the date of our wedding. We could not have been more grateful to him for quickly coordinating everything with us, fitting us in for a tasting within days, and putting together an absolutely unforgettable Italian feast for our wedding. Everyone raved about how delicious his food was, both our vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests alike thought the Eggplant Parmesan was amazing and the Lasagna was to die for. He handles everything from rentals to the food to the bar and provides exceptional service to go alongside some of the greatest food we have had. The process of working with Vittorio was exceptionally smooth, we sat down with him to select the menu and from there he handled everything else! “Stopped by this spot in Pacifica today, tucked away in the Linda Mar area, and I’m really glad I did. The service from David was great, the food was absolutely delicious, and the whole place felt super cozy. It didn’t feel pretentious at all, just an old-school family-owned spot that’s perfect for gloomy weather when you’re craving pasta and garlic bread.

I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and shrimp, and it was so good. The portion was incredibly generous, everything tasted fresh, and the garlic bread that comes with the pasta is HUGE. We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread on the side, and honestly, it was amazing dipped in the marinara sauce.

I’d definitely come back and bring more family members with me next time. It’s such a chill little hole-in-the-wall spot. It was surprisingly empty when we went, I think we were the only people there on a Friday night, which honestly made me sad because everything about the experience was great, and they already have really solid reviews.

There’s plenty of parking too. Please support family-owned small businesses like this. I’m so tired of overpriced, overly precious restaurants when places like this exist - great food, great prices, and genuinely good people.“

“What a pleasant surprise! The place is very spacious, and would be a great venue for a big group. There were only three of us, and Alejandro really took care of us. The bruschetta was amazing, as was the lamb ragu. We also ordered the branzino special and the seafood pasta… both were delicious as well. We kept rotating our plates because everything was so delicious and we didn’t want to miss out. For dessert, we tried the zabaglione, and it was so yummy! “I would like to share my disappointing experience at this restaurant last night regarding the reservation process and customer service.
Before arriving, we called the restaurant to make a reservation. The staff member who answered told us to make a reservation through Yelp. I explained that Yelp was not allowing us to book, which was the reason we called directly. She then told us that she would put us in the system and that our table would be ready in about 20 minutes, which worked perfectly for our drive to the restaurant.
However, when we arrived and informed the hostess that we had a reservation, she immediately told us that the restaurant does not take reservations and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. I even showed her the sms confirmation from my phone.This was very confusing and frustrating because we had just spoken with someone who confirmed our reservation over the phone.
As a result, we arrived expecting a table to be ready, only to find out that no reservation existed. We were dining with a child, so the unexpected wait made the situation even more difficult.
I understand that restaurants can be busy, but clear and consistent communication is very important. If reservations are not accepted, this should have been communicated honestly during the phone call. The conflicting information made us feel misled and disappointed with the service experience.
I hope management can review this situation with the staff to prevent similar misunderstandings for future guests.“
