I had the Italian sausage sandwich which was fantastic, it wasn't to greasy but also the right amount of messy like good food should be when it's from small mom and pop places like this. They have a large back room for banquets.

The food is amazing— favorites include the arugula and fennel salad, spaghetti with clams, eggplant side dish with balsamic and the incredible homemade tiramisu! But you can’t go wrong with anything. Try the pecorini wine or the mushrooms. This small spot is cozy and welcoming and the owner is the best. I am only in the city every few months but this spot makes it into my rotation each visit!“

Overall great fresh pasta and panna cotta, we haven't had a chance to try their sandwiches or other ready to eat stuff but another customer dining next to us mentioned she loved their lasagna, pre-made sauces, and pastas shells. Customer service is also stellar. Also just an FYI the baked pasta will come out pretty toasted so expect a dryer, harder top.“

“Vittorio and his team catered our wedding reception in January 2026. We had about 100 guests and buffet style dinner. We had to change the date last minute due to the sudden loss of a family member.

He and his team also handled all of the linens, passed out appetizers, cleared tables and filled water glasses, etc.

I cannot praise Vittorio and his team enough! Everyone loved the food and many went back for multiple servings. His team was kind and attentive in their service. Vittorio was so easy to work with, was very flexible with us changing the date or number of guests. He prepared us an incredible tasting at his restaurant so we were confident about the food.

The price point for the quality of food was also fantastic and way more affordable than most of my friends’ caterers for their weddings.

“What a pleasant surprise! The place is very spacious, and would be a great venue for a big group. There were only three of us, and Alejandro really took care of us. The bruschetta was amazing, as was the lamb ragu. We also ordered the branzino special and the seafood pasta… both were delicious as well. “I would like to share my disappointing experience at this restaurant last night regarding the reservation process and customer service.
Before arriving, we called the restaurant to make a reservation. The staff member who answered told us to make a reservation through Yelp. I explained that Yelp was not allowing us to book, which was the reason we called directly. She then told us that she would put us in the system and that our table would be ready in about 20 minutes, which worked perfectly for our drive to the restaurant.
However, when we arrived and informed the hostess that we had a reservation, she immediately told us that the restaurant does not take reservations and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. I even showed her the sms confirmation from my phone.This was very confusing and frustrating because we had just spoken with someone who confirmed our reservation over the phone.
As a result, we arrived expecting a table to be ready, only to find out that no reservation existed. We were dining with a child, so the unexpected wait made the situation even more difficult.
I understand that restaurants can be busy, but clear and consistent communication is very important. If reservations are not accepted, this should have been communicated honestly during the phone call. The conflicting information made us feel misled and disappointed with the service experience.
I hope management can review this situation with the staff to prevent similar misunderstandings for future guests.“

“Charming restaurant inside a former bank.
I tried 3 course fixed price lunch for $24.

Starter is choice between house salad or soup of the day, an entree and dessert. There were 5-6 choices for entree including a vegetarian and seafood option. Dessert was choice of gelato or chocolate mousse

Everything was tasty and we got fresh bread while our food was being prepared. Normally I would say $24 is expensive for lunch but given the inflation as of late I thought this was reasonable given ambiance and quality of food. I probably should have saved 1/2 my entree so I could have enjoyed the mousse more. It was delicious but could only get a few bites in as I was so full by the time dessert came out.

You can order off the menu if 3course meal is not your preference. Pizza is only offered at dinner fyi.“

“Welcoming and authentic Italian restaurant in Bernal Heights. Was moderately busy on a Tuesday evening but they had a table for us as walk-ins. Great food and service. The rigatoni with meat balls was delicious, the warm artichoke starter was tasty. Nice wine list, Valpolicella and house red both lovely. Tiramisu is not to be missed! Appreciate the soft lighting and sound proofing which creates a cozy, enjoyable atmosphere for conversations and connection.“

“As someone raised on the east coast, I consider myself a decent critic of what makes a sandwich shop better than what you can make at home. Number one is bread that isn’t something that can be bought at your local grocery store. Check that box- I don’t know exactly how to categorize their sub roll but it’s crusty, chewy and all the things that mass produced bread can’t be. Number two is the prep of the ingredients- at home we can all put a lettuce leaf on a sandwich, but that just creates a barrier between bread/sauce/meat. Here it’s thinly sliced and perfectly married to the importance of sauce…which they also nail. All I can say is WELL DONE!“

“I met the owner of this place while doing rideshare. At the end of the trip he said, “Since you got me home safely, come by my sandwich shop and I’ll have my people hook you up.”
His staff was just as friendly as he was, and the sandwich tasted even better than I expected.
My recommendation: turkey and salami with lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a toasted French roll with garlic sauce only.
The taste isn’t something to die for, it’s something to live and stay alive for.
