“Honestly, this is one of those places you almost want to keep secret. The cafe is a converted house, so it feels much cozier and more welcoming than a typical coffee shop. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged.

I ordered a latte and a crepe, and both were excellent. The latte was smooth and flavorful, and the crepe was absolutely delicious. The owner was also incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home.

I rarely write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing cafe with great coffee and food“

“Great coffee and chai! My husband and I stopped in while visiting our kids in the area. Adorable place and some of the coffee we have had. He had the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and I had an iced dirty chai. We loved them both. We will be back any time we are in town!“

“Definitely was impressed with their coffees and pastries. I tried their maple latte which tasted great as it was made with real maple syrup, and light on the sweetness which I really appreciated. I also tries their chocolate croissants (muffin style) and that was delicious too, with a generous amount of chocolate in it!“

“My wife and I have been going for coffee at least once a week for the last 15 years so we've been to many coffee shops and our favorite is White Sparrow. I usually stick with my regular latte while my wife tried almost all of their flavors and she loves them all. The staff is super nice and quick. When you arrive in the early morning like we do, you'll see a line (rain or shine) and you'll think that it'll take forever, but no; they turn those drinks around like no other and most importantly is the taste -consistently great. I highly recommend them.
The only down side is the seating. Very small inside the shop, it's gets crowded really quickly and the music is a bit loud. They've added seating outside but when it's cold or raining, you can sit.“

“I ordered the legend coffee which is a strong coffee served with a side of condensed milk. It was delicious! I also highly recommend the waffles. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and not too sweet!

We spent a few hours in the cafe, reading our books while sipping coffee. The environment was conducive. The bathroom was also clean despite it being a Sunday with many customers. It seemed like their staff checks and cleans it regularly.

Do note that while they do not offer decaf coffee options, they have a selection of teas and herbal tea options.

“I have been here multiple times and will continue coming here everything I have ordered has been amazing!! The strawberry cold foam is sooo good the peanut butter latte with banana cream top is just as amazing! Their food is also great ! I love their bacon breakfast burrito… they promote inclusion hiring people with disabilities which I think is awesome! With that being said some of my visits I have waited for my order and other visits my order is out so fast, but this is very well worth the wait! It is also one of the if not only the only coffee shops that asks what my milk preference is without me having to remember I switch my milk .“

“The Bottom Line Up Front:
In a world filled with corporations masquerading as sophisticated boutiques, Philz is a growing chain that still retains a cozy atmosphere while serving up great coffee. I've been to other Philz, but this review will focus on this Brea location.

The Drink:
I got the seasonal salted caramel cold brew and it was delicious. Picture Starbucks' caramel macchiato but less sweet and with less acidic espresso. This Philz drink was smooth and creamy, with enough caffeine kick to keep me powered throughout the day.

The Service:
Our barista was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions and a couple of samples so that I could make the right selection. Grade A service!

The Setting:
Located in the new section of Brea Mall, this Philz location is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future).

The Conclusion:
As part of a franchise that doesn't act like one, the Brea location of Philz offers great coffee with excellent customer service.“

“This was the best experience ever. I’m not sure what his name was, but this guy with bleached hair who was working the register was the greatest of all time. Keep him forever. He was so accommodating, answered all of our questions and could not have been a better employee. He seriously deserves a raise, he is the best employee you have, and my group was loud and had many questions. The food and drinks were delicious and lived up to the hype, 100000% recommend.“

On par with several of the cafés we went to in Tokyo, and WatchHouse in London and New York, the service the atmosphere and most importantly the coffee were nearly without peer.
