The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting with kind attentive guides walking through the tasting room experience. It is one of the best local spots to visit if you are in the area since it feels so community oriented. The regional setting made for a peaceful outing without feeling rushed or commercial. “Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!

The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

It’s great that they list the sauces they put in the rolls. But again, just the choice of adding them would be more convenient. The quality of the rice and other ingredients is wonderful. The rolls are delicious.“

“The service was outstanding !!! The Margaritas were perhaps the best I've ever had. The food ? Not so great. To be clear, I tried a couple of things I might not have normally ordered. The fried green tomatos special was ok, but I've had better. The PBJ wings were surprisingly not good ( I had said "that's a little strange, but should be wonderful. I was wrong). My brisket was incredibly overdone and dry, even though I had requested the "fatty end" as opposed to the "lean end" Left half of it on my plate. The Key Lime pie was to die for.“

“We had such a great time here! The historic tour was very fun and ended with a free glass of champagne along with a demonstration for how to safely pop open your Korbel champagne. We did a tasting flight afterwards (you select any 4 glasses from a selected list for $15). We recommend eating at the Korbel delicatessen & market here - our Korbel Kobb salad and Gardener sandwich were phenomenal! We enjoyed our champagne flight and lunch out on the large, multilevel outdoor deck with a view of the vineyard. We liked the small but well appointed gift shop & made a few nice purchases here as well.

“My husband and I had a wonderful wine tasting with Geoff last week during a getaway. We enjoyed learning about the history of the winery and trying a pinot flight. We shared our tasting with two other women on a trip which made for a fun experience. We also got a cheese board which was amazing and we appreciated having the option to get some food while trying the wine. The cheeses were great and well paired with the wine.“

Michael was our host, and he was fantastic! You could tell how passionate he is about the wines, and he shared so much information without it ever feeling like a lecture. We all learned a ton, asked lots of questions, and he made the whole tasting fun and interactive.

One of my favorite little touches was that they had blankets out for guests. We had an earlier tasting, and it was a little chilly, so having those waiting for us was perfect. It’s such a small thing, but it really shows they think about the guest experience.

The wines were incredible, the charcuterie paired perfectly, and our whole group left saying how much we loved it. If you’re in Sonoma and looking for a winery with amazing wine, beautiful scenery, and genuinely wonderful people, definitely put Gary Farrell on your list. We’ll absolutely be back!“

It’s a small, inviting place with a few outdoor tables, so you can sit and enjoy your food in a relaxed setting. There’s no big dining room “scene” inside — it’s more of a laid-back, neighborhood vibe, which honestly makes me love it even more. It’s the kind of place you can just stop by, grab something amazing, and take a minute to slow down. Every visit feels personal, like you’re supporting a local business that really cares about what they serve. The food always comes out looking beautiful and tasting incredible, and the staff is always kind and welcoming.
