“I am a local resident and I go once a week for a pancake w fruit and a fresh squeezed orange juice. I also stop in periodically during the week for their focaccia bread, pizza, a hit cocoa or a pastry. The family and staff are wonderful and sweet. Everything is delicious and made with love.“

Tucked away next to a bus stop on the busy El Camino Real, it’s a nice reprieve from the street traffic where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee with solid Italian food. Street parking is very hard to find, but there’s a paid parking lot across the street.“

“I’m obsessed with this place. The food is so so amazing. I love that they have a display of the food so you can see what you order. I’ve tried salads, omelettes and pancakes all 10/10. The iced coffee is really good and the fresh juices you can taste the real ingredients. The staff is young and friendly. Best vibe sitting outside by the sun. “The ambience is Japanese minimalist. Baristas are friendly. But more importantly the coffee is just perfect. My fave coffee spot in San Mateo. There's always a line though and if you want to sit in, good luck. It's a small place with not a lot of seating.“

“I had to stop by Royal Donut Cafe because of all of the great reviews I saw on Yelp! And I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all! The staff was awesome! From the cashier, to the cooks, and the server. And I even got a chance to meet the owner, Terri, who has taken over the business for the past 15 years! Definitely going to be a regular here! “Had Breakfast here during our stay in San Mateo. Our Hotel was nearby and didn't serve breakfast, after a quick search, decided to check out this place. Glad we did, great Coffee and Food. This was the first place we visited during our trip to San Francisco. It's located in an Office Building, lots of parking. What we loved too was how everyone here knew each other. Staff were very warm and friendly. Will definitely visit again.“

“These sisters treat us like family when we come by for our weekend coffee fix! Not only are they incredibly kind, they're also very conscious of the ingredients they use in their foods. I recommend trying anything with their house granola; it's got whole cashews and pumpkin seeds that add a great crunch to their organic acai bowls. Oh! And their baba ganoush is the best in town ?
They're far enough from the beach that you can escape the hustle and bustle of the weekend crowd, but still within walking distance.“

“Super cute little cafe! Has nice jazz music playing along with friendly staff! I had the half & half combo with the turkey Italiano sandwich & the broccoli cheddar soup & a bottle of water which came out to 16.55 total..Both very good and would reccomend! Has indoor and outdoor seating.“

“10/10, must visit. This is perhaps the most charming little coffee shop EVER. The owners, a cute older couple, have been here for 30 YEARS and built a reputation through their low prices, sweet charm and friendly service. They are cash only, and I was not prepared...fifty cents short of two lattes and a bagel. Esther was having none of it, and not only accepted my $13, she gave us ANOTHER bagel, AND two cookies as little treats!? These places don't exist anymore. Come here and support them.“

“I got chilaquiles, and I was amazed at how good they were!!! Everything else my Family ordered was also delicious. Excellent place to have a nice breakfast with a nice view of the sea. I wish I'd known about this place before we left.

Parking: You have to find a spot on the street. There is a big parking lot with plenty of space there, but I'm not sure if you can park there.“

“Not a lot of japanese bakery selection here in the Bay Area, but this spot is a must-try.

Decided to try a large variety of the menu, and everything was a hit. Would def recommend getting the chocolate and matcha lattes; they are so rich and authentic which is rare to find even amongst drink specialized stores. Also would recommend the cream cornets and the tonkatsu sandwich; portion is huge!

Staff were all very friendly and professional; I you like your bread not too sweet, would def recommend.“

No one and I mean no one makes a hamburger that comes anywhere close to Peter's hamburger! I can't make a hamburger that good in my own kitchen and believe me I've tried. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Great place to have breakfast or lunch with a friend and not be rushed. Peter and his staff makes sure each customer feels special.
