“For our company's Thanksgiving Luncheon, we faced the challenge of finding a caterer who could deliver a traditional turkey dinner for 50 people on short notice. We discovered Grandmas House Catering after conducting a Yelp! search in the El Segundo area. After reading some reviews, it became evident that they were experienced in crafting traditional-style turkey dinners. We promptly reached out, and Rhonda, who was exceptionally helpful, guided us through the process. Rhonda facilitated the selection of a robust menu and even took care of procuring drinks, utensils, plates, and tablecloths, sparing us the need for additional shopping. Throughout the process, Rhonda demonstrated remarkable flexibility. The delivery of our spread was prompt, and all the dishes were not only perfectly presented but also warmed and ready to be served. (Due to the onrush of hungry people, I was unable to snap a photo of the food...sorry!) The culinary experience exceeded our expectations; the food was not just delicious but surpassed what we could have hoped for. The generous portions left us with an abundance of leftovers, allowing us to share the delightful meal with colleagues in adjoining offices. Our order featured honey ham (which had RAVE reviews), deep-fried turkey with an excellent cranberry sauce, sweet and comforting yams, seasoned mashed potatoes and gravy, a refreshing green salad, a savory spinach and artichoke dip (one of my favorites), a flavorful and hearty vegetarian lasagna, stuffing, assorted pies, a peach cobbler, and mouthwatering macaroni and cheese. The positive feedback from our colleagues attested to the success of our choice, bringing us a sense of relief and satisfaction. We received high praises for the quality and flavor of the food. Without a doubt, Grandmas House Catering played a pivotal role in making our Thanksgiving Luncheon a resounding success. We look forward to using their exceptional services in the future. “After visiting Hijo de su Madre several times for their award winning and phenomenal Yucetecan vegan greatness I was quite excited when I saw on their IG they were adding a vegan burger menu. It just launched a few days ago, but is already my favorite burger (got the Phat Hass Burger) in LA and I have had them all. Even more profoundly, they have the best loaded frots I’ve ever had by a landslide! Run don’t walk to try the new menu (will be on the delivery apps soon!) and then keep coming back because everything on the menu is perfection. 5 stars!!!“
“I can't believe I haven't done a review of this place yet. They do a rotating menu that features different cuisines on a monthly basis. I think the first time I went, they had Fiijian food and the second time they had Haitian. Their classic menu includes Somalian, Egyptian, Kenyan. They hire immigrant chefs that highlight their cultures which I thought was pretty dang cool.I got their pita chips with Baba ghanoush. They deep fry their pita bread but also give unfried pita bread if you prefer. But their pita chips are SO GOOD. it's like... crunchy but also chewy. kind of the best of both worlds. I got a lamb stew one time. or was it goat... It came with rice and a giant lamb shank or something. Bone was still on... kinda cut open and the marrow was still inside! Hell yeah. It was full of flavor. Lots of spice to it but not spice-y. I'm thinking maybe it was the Egyptian smothered lamb shank now that I think about it. I remember also trying some of the sambusas. Deep fried triangles filled with spiced, amazing, piping hot goodness. I love that they allow you to mix and match whatever filling you want... unlike other restaurants that make you order them in batches of 3 or whatever.Service was great. We had THE Christian Davis serving us, bringing us all the plates, describing what everything was and how it was made. An extremely pleasant experience... all for a great cause.“
“The greatest cookies I’ve ever had and it’s setup at a gas station! Amazing cookies and the selection is way more than expected.I had the walnut gooie, cloud 9, the chunkie and the chocolate oatie. All four were delicious and had its own distinctive style. They lived up to the “gooie” expectation and were really filling. I think two cookies were enough to get me good & the others were extra credit. Load up on napkins and the customer service was great.Just be aware the gas station didn’t have whole milk, just 2% but all the cookies were still phenomenal by themselves. I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.“

The fried chicken was so expertly seasoned and crispy. I got the 3 meat combo, pretty reasonably priced for the amount of meat I got. The sauce is awesome and the meat is juicy and tender. I had to take my nose ring off cause I was so serious about this BBQ. Cornbread is so soft and fluffy and tastes like something your grandma made. My second time here and I ordered 1lb of the carnitas mix and a menudo. I love carnitas and this spot won my heart it's not easy finding good carnitas so I am happy to say that this is my go to spot. I get the mix which comes with the carnitas, cueritos, and buche packed with so much flavor. Just one bite of these carnitas and it brings a smile to your face! This visit I tried the menudo and it is amazing so much meat and no maíz which I prefer. Leave the Maíz for the pozole lol. I came around lunchtime to try one of their "secret lunch menu" sandwiches and ended up ordering the Hot Girl Salami baguette sandwiches for $12 (since their regular sandwiches were $19). The sandwich was good and was generously stuffed with meat, cheese, and greens, however I wish I ordered the Franch Girl sandwich as the combo of flavors in this sandwich were pretty one-note. I would definitely come back to buy gifts for friends that are into food and wine (and pretty packaging). They had a handful of cookbooks, olive oils, some preserves/sauces, and even beauty products and candles. Bonus points for stocking one of my favorite natty wines, LS Gris by Wavy Wines. It's a very aesthetically pleasing and well curated space, and I'd love to return!“

As an event planner we sample a lot of banquet style food and many are mediocre but these tacos were elevated! The meat was seasoned perfectly, the rice was so fluffy and they had so many salsas to offer. If you're looking for a fantastic taco cart seek out Juan and his team, you won't regret it.“

The vegetable dishes were my favorites, they all tasted very fresh and bright. A few words of caution, finding parking in the area can be tricky. The space is a little dark and echoy, so guests with vision or hearing problems may struggle.“

“LOVE SURPRISE ME KITCHEN!! Friend told us about this concept - a menu with three things AMERICAN - FRENCH - ITALIAN. thats all you pick. They then surprise you with an incredible 3 course meal in that style. They do let you chime in with cravings/aversions (ie. want meat, dont want shellfish, allergic to peanuts, etc etc) but otherwise its a total surprise. I dont want to ruin the experience for you, but the service and communication are incredible. Pick up was fantastic. The menus were personalized for our event (birthday). There were a bunch of typos on the menu, but honestly we kinda liked that since it was a reminder of how personalized the experience was. I got French, my wife got Italian. Both were fantastic, but I think I won with the french menu. so so so good. We ordered again from them this weekend for a larger group of 7, and there was SO MUCH FOOD. it was delicious and generous portions. They also delivered this time and let us with a ton of environmentally conscious containers and serving utensils, as well as warming trays they picked up the next day. If this was served at a sit down restaurant Id expect to pay double for what we got. It's not only a fun gimmicky concept, but the food is absolutely solid.“

Not only is our cuisine very specific but our culinary style is vastly different from what catering companies are accustomed to in this country. We redefine what the term "family style" means.On top of a loaded cocktail hour, we were looking for a caterer that could provide 12 cold appetizers to each table, a few hot appetizers, and 5-6 different entrees that would satisfy meat-eaters, pescatarians, and vegetarians alike. And of course, on top of it all, it had to be kosher. I spent many stressful weeks talking to different caterers. None of them took the time to truly understand what I was asking them to do. And none of them could deliver.Enter John. John delivered on every level. We had an abundance of food. Shawarma. Chicken kabob. Shish kabob. Kubideh. Tacos. Avocado egg rolls. Moraccan cigars. And that's just cocktail hour. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had so much beautiful food waiting for us at our table after the ceremony concluded. I'm tempted to list everything here but it would make this review far too long. Nobody was hungry for one second at any point throughout the night and the food was amazing.There was also a desert room at our wedding that could have doubled as an art installation. The fruit was cut and assorted beautifully across the tables. There were so many different types of pastries. We had a tea station and an espresso station, both of which had a server who showed the most generous hospitality with their spirit. Everyone keeps talking to us about the desert room. My aunt just called me yesterday to rave about the wedding, specifically the food and the deserts. She told me it felt like we were all relaxing with everyone we love in a beautiful home that we created.Meanwhile, the bar at our wedding was outstanding. The bartenders were having fun with our guests. At one point, they brought out a tray of shots to the dance floor with bottles that had VIP sparklers attached. I had no idea they were going to do that. It was a blast. If that's not your thing, I'm sure they would read the room accordingly. But they understood our vibe and added a lot to our celebration.I'm telling you, John didn't deliver, he OVER-delivered.I probably called him 50 times throughout the course of the wedding planning and he always made time for me.
