“They had 21 Pinot Noirs and one Chardonnay which was their first endeavor with that grape. They hit a home run with it. I was even able to get a chilled bottle, just what I was looking for on a hot day. The Pinots were all good, some very dry, some not so much but not jammy.“

Idlewild is definitely more of the laid back. The tasting room feels more like a casual place to get together.We had the pleasure of meeting Sam, who was our server. Every wine was wonderful and he provided a full commentary of each wine, free of the pretentiousness that sometimes comes as a side dish at stuffier wineries.I have been to Italy and drank Italian wines. Idlewild could compete with the best of them. I highly recommend stopping in.“

Winemaker Ross Cobb is renown as a master of Pinot noirs but the little secret is that he makes amazing blanc de noir sparkling as well as Chardonnay that this committed red wine drinker can't get enough of. And his rose of Pinot noir is why our motto is #roseallday. Furthermore also has live music at both their Healdsburg location (just a 1/2 block from the Plaza) and their gorgeous winery on 116 near Graton.“
