“This is a top go to spot for me. I’m not always around during their hours, or forget the options of places, so I get something from here about once every 6 weeks. As vegan I either get the falafel sandwich or plate. I prefer the plate. It amazes me how simple the combination of vegetables and sauces are, and yet it’s so flavorful. I feel full and healthy after eating at this joint and the people working there have such a nice vibe. If vegan they will swap out hummus for the yogurt based items.“

“Tucked away on Mare Island, this little coffee shop is amazing. They use local coffee beans, and the vibe is so relaxed. They are good friendly, with a water bowl in front, and a really neat patio in back.

The coffee shop itself is an old, kinda Victorian style house where they have transformed the whole bottom level into a coffee shop/seating area. There are photos of Mare Island from when it was a US Navy base. It's very cool.

Plus right now they have it all decorated for Halloween. Highly recommend this place. Good first date option, provides a lot of conversation topics.

“Best espresso of any of the highwire locations I have been too. It is a darker roast than I like, but they have a great recipe so it doesn't get sour or bitter. My only complaint, not enough seats, then again it is in a plant store, not a standalone shop, which leads to some amusing scenarios with entitled people like the scene I saw. So don't wonder far from the stand even if there is a line.

An upper middle class woman took a drink, sipped from it AND THEN ASKED "is this the oat latte for Sarah?" They called out the name of the drink and the person who it was for, CAPPUCCINO FOR JOYCE. Who takes a sip from a drink and then ask if it is yours. They did not apologize, making excuses, and saying oops is not an apology. This after having taken a sip from it. I would have charged her for it if I worked in that stand.

“We came across this incredible place about 4-5 months ago and have been hooked ever since. The owners Naomi and Dan are wonderful people and they create daily specials that they run out of almost every day because the food is that delicious!!! One of my favorites is Tuesday special: breaded pork chops with Mac& Cheese with gravy! My picky 4 years old LOVES their Mac & Cheese!!!! She asks for it every day LOL I love their fried Brussel sprouts !!!My husband loves their smoked andouille and chicken gumbo!! The soups are made from the scratch and are very yummy! Cream of cauliflower is our favorite and we also love others : mushroom spinachoke ( which is spinach and artichoke), southern chicken succotash. They have a lot of different soup which we haven’t event tried all yet. The soups change daily so check every day foe their soup special. Their po’ boy sandwiches are amazingly delicious as well! We love oyster po’ boy and sausage po’ boy and shrimp po’ boy all are delicious! Saturday 8-10:30 only they have yummy dessert beignets but you gotta call ahead coz they sell out of them fast!!! And the rice and beans special which they serve on Saturday is delicious! You can’t go wrong with ANY of their food but you CAN go wrong if you’ve driven and haven’t given them a chance! As a person on the carnivore diet, I find it refreshing I can order an all protein meal and be completely satiated without paying an arm and a leg. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and the bacon was delicious. And who could have thought a simple burger patty could taste so good. Must be a magic griddle! Highly recommend! Oh, and service is amazing. “I'll preface this by saying that I'm not even really a cupcake gal, but fox and fawn has truly converted me. I dream about these cupcakes. They're always perfectly moist, never too sweet, great crumble, so flavorful - the perfect, perfect treat!
