“Amazing pastrami and wonderful service. Had #54 in 19 style (corned beef/pastrami on rye with Russian dressing, Swiss and coleslaw) and it was excellent. Admittedly, I will try a plain pastrami sandwich with a little mayo and mustard next time and I think I will like that even more. Portions are huge and you could probably split a sandwich, small fries with another and be pretty happy with it.Service is very nice and the interior is pleasantly old fashioned. Looking forward to trying desserts next time.“

I came here over Lunch and ordered a Grilled chicken salad and a Pasta Primavera. Food was fresh and satisfying; portions were abundant for their modest price. “This place stays busy around lunchtime. So I suggest placing your order by phone if you don't like to stand in line. The cashiers are friendly and take orders fast. The place is neat and very clean. They have a huge variety of drinks, chips and dessert. The prices are along oar with every other deli. They have a nice variety of sandwiches. If you want a salad they make them fresh. They have a wide variety of bread and ingredients you can add to your sandwich. They also have hamburgers, turkey burgers and fries. You can order your sandwich hot or cold. The food tastes really good.“

“I woke up craving Spaghetti and Meatballs..and found this place.. Ordered a full pastrami sandwich and spaghetti and meatballs..Upon arrival, i realized that I have been in this place before, about 25 years ago or so.The spaghetti and meatballs was phenomenal, with 3 meatballs, and sauce to spaghetti ratio on point.Pastrami sandwich had the perfect moisture and flavor, just the right amount of mustard, would have like a bit more pickles but still a great sandwich.I hate that I didn't get the names of those who attended to me, but 100% great customer service.Safe to say. This is going to be a must go to for me at least once a month..“

“Tucked away on the western side of Vine Street, just below Fountain Ave, resides The Vine Street Deli. With dozens of choices between entrée, sandwiches, coffees, teas, smoothies, and more, I decided to go for a goat cheese and chicken sandwich and an eggplant dip as starter. Both of them were phenomenal dishes. I ate and cleaned and scraped the bottom of the plates to savor those rich flavors one more time. Not only was my hunger more than satiated, but I was left satisfied, and elated of the foods I just consumed. The lady working, which I assume was the owner of the place, was kind and welcoming. The warm lights, wooden staircase, loft, and furniture, give the place a relaxing, charming, and quite atmosphere. This was my first time there, but it surely won't be the last.“

“Hidden gem of a spot next to the gas station. The hand painted sign caught my eye as we were driving past and I'm glad we stopped. Got The Heights sandwich and it did not disappoint. We ordered two sandwiches and they were made up quick, we looked around the bottle shop while we waited. They've got a great selection of waters, soda, wine, beer, and kombucha for such a small footprint. I really liked the card system they had describing the bottles of wine and where they're from. Service was friendly and I want to come back for takeaway pasta and a bottle of wine for dinner some night soon.“

“Solid collection of sandwiches - one of the tastiest in the area. I've tried the tuna and beach blanket - both were epic. If you like fresh bread with quality ingredients look no further. They also bring in cheeses like brie and other mixes to make tasty twists on your normal sandwiches. The cooks and counter attendants are polite and cool to talk with. You can eat outside at the tables, enjoying some fresh beach breezes and people watching. Parking can be tougher, but it's easy to find something within a block.“

“I wandered by abnd was quickly greeted by server. She asked what i would like before I was seated... I went with the lule plate and a drink. I was served rather quick. I was rewarded with a fragrant plate. The server warned me the hot sauce is spicy. Of course this the first thing I tried haha. She was not lying it had a good kick to it. The meat was juicy flavorful, and bit pink? I was ok with that. The bread was delicious. The only thing I was disapointed was the plastic cutlery. 1/3 into the meal poink! the fork break cutting the lule. Luckily there was enough of the handle to continue. “Delicious! Perfectly balanced sandwich, the bagel itself was so soft! We got the smoked salmon on cheese and jalapeño bagel. I had never tasted a bagel that didn't feel a bit dense. “Loved this little place! First time visit and we were greeted like we were regulars. Happy vibe and felt very welcomed. The chef saw me waiting while another customer finished up his order, and asked what I was gonna order, I got the turkey havarti panini. He had my order ready shortly after ordering, which helped me enjoy my lunch break a little bit more by not wasting time standing waiting forever for an order. I learned I can call ahead though! The sandwich, which comes with a small side was absolutely delicious! I got the macaroni pasta salad and it was a standard tasting one. It was very good. The Panini was outstanding though and I can wait to go back!!!“
“I chose this out of the many that are down Pico because of the ratings. Also it was Yom Kippur so a few of them were closed for the holiday. Carvery had sandwiches but more importantly the french dip feature that I was interested in trying. While I stuck with the corn beef brisket, my girlfriend had a turkey wrap, and the two of us shared chips together. Its a small place but the guys working there bring everything out to you. I would go back and try something else again in the future.“

“Grade A (95): St Vincent Deli, is my favorite restaurant in the alley. I can't believe how much food comes out of this tiny little restaurant. They have Shawerma (gyros style) but tastes amazing. They have fresh home made food as a feature every day. I specially love Thursdays (Kufteh) which is ground beef kebab in small finger like shape in tomato sauce and fries (delicious). The alley is an Historic and cozy Alley with hidden gems as restaurants.“
“Canter’s Deli is an LA classic and a must visit for anyone who loves that old school deli feel. All the staples are on the menu and the old timey look of the inside rounds out the experience. Food is very solid if not a bit overpriced. Bakery is by weight for a lot of items so expect to pay more than you think. Parking is free in the lot next to the building if you are eating. Service isn’t the best on most of our visits, but the people watching makes up for it!“

Tucked inside the St. Vincent alley (which itself is something special for a later review), you'll find a deli market with a nice assortment of Armenian treats and friendly staff who actually helped me pick out my first two items: the house pastrami sandwich and my personal favorite, the Soujouk sandwich. Get this! The Soujouk sandwich is made with this fantastic Armenian sausage, cheese, and tomato on a perfectly toasted French roll that had the right amount of crunchy and fluffy bite.
