“I'd move to Joshua Tree just to drink coffee in the mornings at Country Kitchen...“

“We were visiting Joshua and were staying nearby. Walked over Saturday night. Place was packed but the service was efficient, friendly and organized. Best of all the pizza was delicious. Crust was perfect, toppings were generous. Great place to visit.“

“Super convenient grab and go place that sells all sorts of locally sourced items. Parking is the same lot as the Joshua Tree visitor’s center. Restrooms are outside. They carry snacks, coffee, tshirts, drinks, Gatorade, and kombucha. On the pricier side of things, but if you have the cash, worth the try.“

“First time here. Went for lunch on a Saturday. Place was near capacity inside. Lots of dog friendly patio seating outside. Service was nice. We had a burger (pretty good) and some chicken fingers (pretty good). Food took about 45 min. Mostly a drinking crowd (at noon) it seems. TVs at the bar.“

“Jass served us and went above and beyond to ensure we had exactly what we wanted. She also offered to cut our subs in thirds and wrap them individually, knowing we were eating on the road. Such customer service! We are tourists and likely will never be this way again, but if we were locals, we would go to this Subway just to have Jass’ outstanding customer service. Thank you, Jass for taking the time to make our day more special! We hope your manager will recognize you and - if you are the manager - pat yourself on the back!“

“I’ve tried larb at several different thai places over the years, and the larb at Royal Siam is stellar! I asked for it to be spicy, and with extra dressing (because I like it saucy), and it didn’t disappoint! It was one of the best larbs my husband and I have had, by far. What an delicious meal out here in Joshua Tree. 10 out of 10!“

“I would definitely come here again and recommend trying it out for a meal or camping/hiking provisions. I had the Hummus & Lentil (V) - seasoned lentils tossed with lemon vinaigrette, baby lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes & red onion served on pita bread. I recommend eating it all together on the pita rather than deconstructing it with your fork, by the way! I also had the vegan sausage roll and thought it was excellent. And I know sausage rolls – they are one of my all-time favorite foods. The Beyond Meat sausage was combined with delicious pastry that was slightly spicy – I think they used Hot Italian sausages. And do not ignore the homemade ketchup that goes with it – it’s really good! Staff members were very friendly and the restaurant is fun, unpretentious and stocked with good provisions. It’s also dog-friendly, according to a cute write-up on DogTrekker : ) I’m giving the Dez 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: • A good chunk of the menu is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Reducing our meat intake is a key action for mitigating climate change, deforestation, water use, water pollution, and of course animal suffering. • Some ingredients for vegan dishes are organic – chickpeas for the wrap, brown rice for the Buddha bowl and cocoa for the almond joy date balls. • It’s an inclusive restaurant – an important feature in this climate. • Room for improvement: skip the beef as it really has ridiculously big environmental footprints (carbon and land) compared to eggs, chicken, and pork. Use compostable to-go boxes instead of polypropylene.“
