“Eight Desert Divas dined at Sí Bon Restaurant in Rancho Mirage on Thursday. We were celebrating one of our own lovely Diva's birthday. We made reservations ahead of time (thankfully) because they were VERY busy. It is a popular place. The service was excellent. The menu was great. They offer a summer menu which includes a three course dinner for $32. They also have a happy hour menu. I ordered the meat loaf dinner and it was delicious and plentiful. Others selected steak with fries, tacos, mussels, and a few other items. There were no complaints at all. They even brought out a birthday chocolate mousse with a candle and 8 individual spoons to honor our birthday girl. Our server was wonderful and he gave us separate checks (which we always appreciate). It was definitely a special night and we highly recommend Sí Bon. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time. You won't be disappointed.“

The sauces compliment the flavors of all their food very well. I love love this place. The Vietnamese coffee tasted a little thin this time, but I also got it with 50% sweetness so might’ve been that they used less condensed milk in order to achieve less sweetness. The Thai tea and hibiscus tea are also yummy. I love supporting small businesses and especially those that put love into their food. I’ll def keep coming here :)“

This place definitely has the feel of a local favorite, which is always a good sign. There was a wait for indoor seating, but we were seated on the patio right away.

Service was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout our meal. The breakfast menu had so many good options that choosing was the hardest part. I ordered the Country Breakfast with over-easy eggs and hash browns, while my husband went with the breakfast burrito.

The restaurant was busy, so there was a bit of a wait for our food, but it was completely understandable and the staff did a great job keeping our coffee and water topped off in the meantime.

When our meals arrived, we were surprised by the portion sizes—everything was huge and absolutely delicious. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

If we lived locally, this would definitely become a regular breakfast spot. Highly recommended!“

“You know how there are places you wish were close to where you live and at the same time, wish they were further away?! This is one of them. Although I expect that if there was one near where I live, I hope I'd be able to exercise a little self control.
The ice cream here is so fresh and delicious, it's hard to describe. For instance, their coffee ice cream tastes like pure coffee as opposed to coffee flavoring. The same goes for all of their flavors.
It appears that there are only 6 locations on the West Coast and 3 of them are in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. Nothing on the East Coast.
There are locations in Hawaii as that is where this ice cream eminated from. That's also where I first had this amazing delicacy.
If you have the good fortune of coming across one of the stores, I obviously highly recommend it.“

Was seated by Mary, quite a gracious hostess, to place a small appetizer order while waiting for a take out order.
While waiting for my food, I clumsily spilled my glass of red wine all over their white table cloth. Embarrassed isn't even the word! Mary, Jose and Eddie were amazing! Even brought me another glass. That's TRUST. 😆
And, to top it off, my calamari appetizer, and take out order was beyond superb.
Wonderfully appointed decor, great friendly service, outstanding food and a welcoming environment sums up all!
Said, if your going to knock over a glass of red on a white table cloth, this is the place!

“Over the top amazing. The fish tacos were incredible, the chili relleno is something I always order. Yes it is a Mexican restaurant but the food and the Cadillac margaritas are truly memorable, the experience is similar to exquisite dining. No table cloths no cloth napkins limited upscale decorations but a restaurant we always visit from Phoenix.“

You've got to hand it to Las Casuelas Cafe, they've kept the music going in Palm Desert. And their serving sizes should be considered large. With a roomy climate controlled porch, it's never uncomfortable. Yup, it can get busy. But I've watched the staff handle hungry chaotic crowds perfectly. That takes experience and a staff that has worked together many years. This certainly must be a tribute to the owner of the restaurant; who really is committed not only to his restaurant, but the community that it serves. “Stopped at Shields today. We had breakfast, followed by a walk around the gardens. So many trees had fruit on them, just going to waste. Signs all over saying "don't pick the fruit." Instead of letting the fruit rot on the trees, why not pick the fruit to sell or even donate to a food pantry? I was saddened seeing all the fruit going to waste.“
