From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the tone. The neon lighting, the modern decor, and the overall vibe make it feel like an ideal date night spot without trying too hard. It’s stylish but still comfortable, which is harder to pull off than people think.

Now to the food.

The quality of the fish is immediately noticeable. The sashimi is clean, properly cut, and incredibly fresh. You can see it in the color and texture before you even taste it. The salmon had that rich, buttery finish you look for, and the tuna was vibrant and smooth with no metallic aftertaste. This is fish that’s clearly handled with care.

The sushi rice was seasoned well and balanced, not overly sweet or vinegary. That detail alone separates good sushi from average sushi. Presentation across the board was thoughtful without being overcomplicated. It looks beautiful, but more importantly, it tastes right.

Another thing worth mentioning is value. For this level of quality, the pricing is more than fair compared to other restaurants serving comparable sushi and sashimi. You’re not paying inflated “scene” prices here.

Tk has accessible snacks as well as drinks, good wifi, a bathroom, parking that doesn’t suck, and friendly workers. I like their chicken curry bowl and their spam musubi came out piping hot!“

“Me and my boyfriend had hookah and drinks here after dinner at yamshiro (upstairs) our server recommended this lounge so we checked it out after dinner. You have to have reservations on the weekends here as it gets pretty busy but luckily the host made something work for us I believe her name was Maria. She was beyond sweet and kind and stunning too!!! We had such a beautiful time, she gave us the best seats on the beautiful patio as we over looked the view! I highly recommend you guys go here. “We recently held a memorial, celebrating the life of a loved family member at Yamashiro and the experience was nothing short of amazing! This restaurant has great food, beautiful views and a very welcoming atmosphere so they don't need to negotiate prices. However, our party was on a budget and to our very pleasant surprise, the manager worked with us to fit the evening into our limited budget. The service was outstanding and the food, well, I'm repeating myself but, again, absolutely amazing! Some establishments are willing to work within people's budgets, but the food and service level tends to reflect the lower pricing but that was NOT the case here: We were treated as if we were the only people in attendance that evening. The occasion was bitter/sweet because we lost a loved one but, by the end of the evening, we felt as if we had spent the evening at a family member's house and we will NEVER forget this evening, on many levels. “I had a craving for tom yum soup and thankfully they took my order even though it was about 20 minutes to closing time. It was just a little too spicy (ordered mild) for my taste, but still delicious. Plenty of lemongrass goodness with a kick. I forgot to add noodles, but they accommodated me at the counter. The thai tea was very delicous, strong & creamy with just the right amount of ice. I tried the mango sunrise but it was not what I expected (again, just my taste!). It had a distinct taste to it that I can't put my finger on, but the mango compote & the coconut cream part was really good! Definitely want to try the mango sticky rice next time, but it is on the pricy side ($14).“

“Man, this place takes me back to high school, back when Quickly locations were plentiful and it was easy to get a boba drink and popcorn chicken for under $10. Happy to find that things haven't changed at this spot!

There's very little parking in the plaza, so if you're lucky, you'll get one of the two spots up front designated for Quickly. Otherwise, find a spot off street parking. It's also still to go inside, so no hanging about with your food and drink. Cash only and no bills larger than $20.

We ordered popcorn chicken ($5.90, listed on their menu as fried chicken), regular size almond milk tea at 50% sweet with boba ($2.50 plus 75 cents for boba), and large size jasmine milk tea at 50% sweet with boba ($2.50 plus 75 cents for boba and 50 cents for larger size). Since the drinks were at 50% sweet, they were slightly watered down. Still good though! Boba was soft and chewy.

The real star was the popcorn chicken! It wasn't fatty nor tendon-y like other boba shops we've ordered at. It was crisp and hot and a great value at a price we don't see anymore. I think we've found our go-to popcorn chicken place!“

“The best items we got here were definitely the dumplings, which are like soup dumplings, and the crispy pork buns which also had plenty of broth inside. I thought those were super unique, never had something like that before and I really enjoyed the crispiness of the bun. We also got the popcorn chicken which was fine, but a little bit oily and heavy to me, while the pork soup was very light and tasted very clean. Would definitely come here again, truly enjoyed the meal and it was uniquely Taiwanese.“

“had my birthday dinner here, and it was a lovely experience! the staff was so accomodating and kind, and we really loved the patio seating with heaters that kept us warm even in the cold rainy weather. the atmosphere is quaint and the food is delicious. amazing portions for the price! we thoroughly enjoyed pad thai, pad see ew, tom yum soup, kimchi fried rice, and crying tiger (an amazingly tender, smoky steak served with sticky rice) along with a handful of appetizers like salmon wraps and fried tofu. everything was really yummy, and we had plenty of leftovers. 6 of us feasted for about $200, with tip included in that amount. I tipped extra at the end because the staff was so kind and patient with us, even though we were the last to leave after their closing time.“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“
