“I can’t believe how good this place is. When I moved to LA I thought there would be more options for gluten free and other allergen free options, but I haven’t really seen hardly any, especially on the east side. You can tell how intentional the menu is, nothing has been an afterthought. The owner's creativity with ingredients and flavor pairings are outstanding while still being familiar. Their versions of “scallops” and “fried calamari” taste better than the real thing which was very impressive. They have board games and fun mocktails too. Great multipurpose atmosphere for possible events, and the owners have great hospitality. Parking wasn’t a problem either.“

The dessert and drink menu were simple and not over-the-top, which I really liked. I was surprised to see more foreigners than Koreans, even though cafés like this usually attract a lot of Koreans. I’ve been gluten free for five years and have been consistently disappointed with crumbly, dry donuts. Not anymore. This place has changed the game. Their donuts are perfectly moist and amazingly flavorful. I am beaming after visiting this place. Easily my new favorite spot and I will definitely be coming back. “Los Feliz in California is a must and Figaro must be included! This is a wonderful unassuming French restaurant, very traditional French cuisine. Get the Moules Marinieres! They give you so many mussels and the fries were delicious! My only issue is that they don't serve bread to dip in the broth and I had to ask for a spoon. There was no way I was going to leave that delicious broth, well seasoned with rosemary! The Kir Royal was standard. Their desserts were also delicious. Had the millefeuille (Napoleon) and took home the bread pudding. The millefeuille was creamy and not overly sweet. The bread pudding was a very large portion that could be divided easily into two servings. My friend had the macarons. She said the pistachio was the best she had ever tasted. Service was pleasant. Dining was in old leather cushioned chairs, a little low and hard to prevent your bag from being on the floor. There are options to sit at other tables with bistro chairs Looking forward to returning to this restaurant!“

“Shoutout to the Rittenhouse location. We are at Chop with our 4 year old son who just had surgery. I figured after the day we had let’s have some cookies. I placed an order from Levain on door dash. My wife after the long day she had put in the wrong address on the door dash order and the driver called screaming at me and wouldn’t come 1.3 miles to bring them even after explaining the circumstances. Door dash refunded my whole order without me even asking and I called Levain and they went above and beyond. They gave us cookies on the house and even threw in an extra chocolate chip and delivered them to CHOP. Not only are the cookies fabulous the hospitality is second to none. I am a lifelong customer to this location and want to thank everyone at the Rittenhouse location especially Mat who went above and beyond. Thanks again!“

“We love Half Baked! We discovered it, ironically enough, just months before I was diagnosed with Celiac in 2016. Luckily, they have gluten free options a plenty. Of all the gluten free bakeries nearby, they were THE most affordable for wedding cakes. We collaborated with Natalie who was with us from day one. She is wonderful - so understanding and supportive. Half Baked's execution of our vision onto 3 elegant cakes was lovely and classy. The GF spice with cream cheese was the best - our very favorite! There were some unfortunate issues with the other two cakes, but Natalie assisted us thoughtfully and ultimately provided us with an ample solution. We have loved Half Baked since we discovered them. We highly recommend them for events or anytime, especially if you need delicious gluten free options that won't break the bank!“

If you’re not sure what to try, go for the Pistachio Dreaming or Blueberry Thrill, both are next-level.“

“Tried a couple of the empanadas (ham & cheese, beyond meat, and samosa) and they were all delicious and had a perfect texture.

Also tried the ube brownie - they were out of the cookies - and it was magnificent. If you’re a fan of ube, absolutely try it.

My partner got an iced matcha which I tried and thought was very nice; I got an iced mocha with oat milk and it was wonderfully bitter - the dark chocolate really came through.

Everything cost ~$35+tip. Pretty reasonable considering how much we got for it.“

“I went here to get a quick coffee (Americano) and a tiramisu. The coffee was actually good, and the tiramisu also tasted good! But what I love about this place is that they made the tiramisu take out special by adding whipped cream around the tiramisu (NOT on, don’t worry) so that there wouldn’t be empty space.

The owner of Bon Vivant was SO nice. A very sweet man. The service was great, even for take out.“
