“Menchies menchies menchies How do I love you. I been coming here for over 10+ years and everytime I come here I get excited to see the toppings and the different flavors. My go to are: Vanilla + chocolate + original tart W/ cherries W/ nuts, walnuts, almonds and chocolate chips I been taking my kids here forever and they would always write on the chalkboard. This visit was very special to me, because my daughter treated me for dessert. I have passed along the Menchies tradition And who can't say no to Froyo! Menchies we love you!“
“Hugo's is the go two for healthy eating hippy types. It's set up like a very traditional diner. Nothing special about the decor. Its the food and service that set this place apart. Beautiful custom blend teas. Low processed ingredients. Menu full of traditional dishes like pot roast but made in a more diet friendly way. Also plenty of vegan options. Essentially the libertard Dennys (I'm one including long hair in a bun so its said with love) prices are shockingly reasonable rarely exceeding $30 and the menu is HUGE. Breakfast , Lunch and dinner options. Also service tends to lean towards young. hip and cool ? (If your into that type of thing)Parking: Limited parking in a lot behind the resteraunt.“
“We love the harvest moon they have the most delicious maple bacon, really good tuna salad, exceptional eggs I love everything about harvest Moon, except for the service is a bit slow but the food is actually very amazing. They have a chicken pot pie which is so delicious we highly recommend, the tuna, very comfortable clean atmosphere lots of choices highly recommended“
“This is my favorite restaurant it is very pretty inside and outside and the food is delicious and they are dog friendly so I took my dog with me they are also very affordable and I love how it is French bc I’m French and it reminds me of Paris I recommend this restaurant a lot ✨Vegetarian options: There is a lot of vegetarian options i am not vegetarian but my friend is and I tried her food witch was vegetarian and it was so goodDietary restrictions: There are a lot of dietary foodsParking: There was a lot of parking and there is a lot of shade to park too very safe parkingKid-friendliness: Very welcoming to kidsWheelchair accessibility: Lots of good ways for wheelchair parking“
“Its a beautiful cosy place, takes you back in time. The cakes, as you can see in the video look delicious (didn't try one though). We had the lemon pancakes which were AMAZING, also the breakfast burrito which was really delicious as well and very filling. Their coffees were also flavourful and strong.Lastly, salmon with potato pancakes..which I personally didn't really like.. they had a funny taste.. quite soggy.. something about the salmon? Or the eggs? I didn't understand but unfortunately has a weird and not good taste.“
“Had a lovely brunch here for Easter - it's a La carte which is different than the usual Easter brunches we have gone too but the food was great - we had shrimp w grits special. My parents loved the salmon and the country fried steak. The pasta for the kids is fresh so it does take longer. The ambience is great as they had live music and the spot is so pretty all wicker chairs and lush green.“
“Love this hidden gem. Great for outdoor dining. I am not a hummus guy but the hummus starter might have changed my mind, it’s a must try. The food is delicious, fresh off the grill. The veggies were perfectly cooked and tasty. The lamb chops were pretty good.“
“Portions are very large so keep that in mind when ordering. The crab curry was delicious - you can get it de-shelled too which is quite helpful! The spice level is crazy spicy so a medium is whoa, hot. Moo ping (pork skewers) was too much pork for my boyfriend lol, which is never a thing!“
“"Sippin from your cup 'til it runneth over..." I heard JT performed at the Wiltern last night for free so I had his music on repeat in my head all day today during work. So of course I had to stop by here as soon as I saw the store name. I did NOT expect to find the best donuts I've ever had in my life. Period. I walked in and was greeted warmly and decided to just order the Original Sin and their version of classic milk. They were so nice and gave me another donut for free which was the Obrama. Everything was so scrumptious. I loved that the donuts weren't too big. The quality of the donut is so good that it only needs to be a smaller size to have the same effect as something larger. The outer texture and the crispness reminded me of the blueberry m&m donuts that they sell in OC where people line up for hours to buy. The donuts here taste better because the inside texture is a lot lighter and isn't as dense so you don't feel disgustingly full afterwards with regrets. I cannot wait to come back and get some for my family and friends. I wanted to test it out myself first prior to sharing with others. Yum! Also their classic milk was soooooo good and complimented the donuts so perfectly.“
“The place is gorgeous, especially if you love a nice terrace. The food... Is it because it's the only middle Eastern gluten free place, or is it because the ingredients are fresh, or is it because the preparation is perfect, or maybe it's all the small details... I think it's all of the above, one of the best middle Eastern places in LA, and the best gluten free one :) enjoy their manahish!“
“Ummm wow just amazing across the board. We were able to sample quite a bit. One of the outstanding treats was the grilled brussel sprouts. The margarita pizza was classic, but tasted a cut above, I think it's their sauce. The Caesar salad is big, and boy I ate all of mine. It had a perfect balance. Try the deep fried porta Bella mushrooms with their creamy dipping sauce, you might pass out it's so good.Next time I need a desert from their French tarts and macaroons in the glass case.“
“Ayo! Stumbled upon this cool lil cookie shop in SM. It did not disappoint and I will be coming back FoSho. I like how the cookies are smaller than the Big Cookie trend that's going on so that can taste more of their creative flavors. Also lower pricing point per cookie as well. My Fav is $100k Cookie. That thing was amazing, i was only supposed to take a bite cause i had 3 other flavors to try but Nope couldn't do it, i ate the whole thing. It had a chewy caramel center with gooey milk chocolate and crispy rice crispy's on the outside. Street parking available, they accepted cards and staff was very helpful. Come check this place out y'all!“
“This place just screams EXCELLENCE ALL THE TIME. The well trained staff, the ambiance/atmosphere, the food and drinks. It's a well-oiled and efficiently run machine. Prices are extremely reasonable. Every PORTO I have been to operates in the same harmonious way.Dietary restrictions: Gluten, sugar, dairy, caffeine“
“Excellent food! Service is usually very good, but our last visit was extremely rushed. It made for an unpleasant experience. If they want guests to leave by 10 they should not except reservations after 8:30 PM. People should not be forced to eat fast at high prices.“
“Great vegan restaurant in Melrose. The food has plenty of flavor and tastes fresh. Prices during happy hour are very affordable, and it’s a great for big groups to share bites and drinks. Atmosphere is nice, especially outdoors on the patio. The highlight of the evening for me was the olive oil brownie — a must try!“
“ou won't miss the meat" at this "go-to for high-end vegan" and vegetarian dining, a "phenomenal" "late-night find" on Melrose offering "inspired" "comfort food" and "creative" Vegan cafés abound in health-conscious L.A., but Crossroads Kitchen, which opened in 2013, sets itself apart by turning plant-based dining into a white tablecloth affair. Crossroads is a high-end vegan restaurant for carnivores. Plant-based chef to the stars Tal Ronnen—he counts Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres as clients.“
“Are you willing to work for your food? Are you willing to wait in a long line? If the answer is yes then please take the time to try Apollonia's. Their hours are strange and they are cash only in the restaurant but it's worth it.This is best thin slice pizza I have had in California. They also have incredible Detroit style slices. The pepperoni vodka slice is a must try.Very little parking.Parking: Very little parking. Small lot that is always full.“
“Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream! Let me tell you it definitely hit the spot, one of the best ice creams I've tried I can see why it's one of their top flavors. I got the single scoop and it's a good amount of serving but I should have gotten a double scoop for sure! If you love chocolate ice cream and Oreos, then this is the perfect flavor for you. Although, there is a hint of coconut in the aftertaste in case you're not too huge on coconut. But the actual flavor overpowers it. We went late at night but the service was still good! You have to be careful not to miss the window it's right next to a small coffee shop. There's a few chairs around to sit after or you can walk around and see the other shops around. Very small space but great ice cream! I will definitely need to go back and try other flavors!“
“We came here for Easter Sunday brunch yesterday. It’s a cute restaurant with friendly staff. However, I expected the food to taste better…I ordered their classic breakfast pizza suggested by the server. First of all, it looked great. I’m not a fan of the fake bacon because it tastes like paper. After the first couple of bites, I realized the pizza was barely edible because of the amount of big rosemary leaves added in the pizza dough. I had to hand picked them out of the pizza to avoid tasting the ‘soapy’ rosemary flavor… and I love rosemary in general. Just not THIS MUCH. I asked my friends to also taste my pizza and they all told me I should send it back.Luckily, our server took it back right away and gave me the option to change to a different pizza. The second pizza I ordered was margarita pizza. It was pretty blend. But at least edible.I do need to say their menu is probably a hit or miss. My friends ordered the breakfast burritos that they enjoyed a lot. Which is why I’m leaving it 4 stars.Note: very limited street parking and $20 valet parking.Parking: Very limited street parking and $20 valet parking.“
“Absolutely delightful service & chicken! Make sure to check the counter for info on their combos and bentos since those are good deals for lunch. The portions are great, so an 8 piece is enough for 2 lunches, especially if you’re pairing it with rice or a salad. Will definitely be back.“
“5/5 Written from a former bakery owner. My family owned a bakery in Detroit for 40+ years and sold it during Covid in 2021. I know baking and so does Toluca Bakery. Excellent customer service. Family owned shop with the mom and son working when my friend and I went in. So much variety, and the price point is low for all you’re getting. This is a bakery making old school, classic recipes. They veganized so many items that you can’t find in most places. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious, concha’s super tasty, Tres Leches was chef’s kiss, turnover amazing, danish great, cupcakes yum, eclairs fantastic and empanadas scrumptious. Highly recommend. Plus for folks who like supporting small business, this is exactly that. It’s a win-win-win-win. Taste-options-price-family owned & operated. Get there!“
“If you're interested in trying popular Vietnamese entrees outside of pho, head over to Be U! This woman-owned eatery is located in a prime hipster Echo Park neighborhood, and to me, it's a perfect blend of my culture superimposed on Los Angeles's colorful cityscape. The menu ranges from homey comfort-food entrees to popular street bites, and some new-age fusion items as well. Atmosphere: 2/5 As a take-out-only restaurant located on Hoover Street, there's no seating and it faces traffic. If only there were some colorful plastic chairs (like the ones you see in SE Asia) - the vibes would be immaculate. However, you're either standing and eating or taking the food back to your home. Service: 3/5 Wasn't bad but wasn't warm or friendly either - service was okay Flavors: 5/5 Highly recommend: -Banh mi trung op la (banh mi with fried egg): homemade mushroom pate is delicious, it inspired me to make some at home. The egg was crispy to the heavens. -Rau ma juice: in English known as pennyworth, extremely refreshing, herbal, and will cool you down on a hot day. -Tofu goi cuon (spring rolls): The peanut sauce offered with this was so yummy! The spring rolls were super fresh and all the herbs complemented the flavors. Parking: 2/5 Street parking only, very limited Pricing: 3/5 Definitely not cheap for Vietnamese food, however, LA is a high-cost-of-living area so I understand that the owner needs to maintain overhead costs and pay her employees a fair wage! Expect to pay $4-5 higher than what you're used to paying in the OC/SJ/SGV. The reason why I rate it low is because the portions are significantly smaller than what you'd get at a traditional sit down Vietnamese restaurant Overall I recommend Be U if you're unfamiliar with Vietnamese food outside of mainstream pho, but if you're willing to drive to SGV, Garden Grove/Westminster, you'll be truly immersed in the cuisine and culture“
“The atmosphere or ambiance is excellent. It's a small community restaurant with excellent food. The only reason for the 4 is it was a bit cold inside.Vegetarian options: Almost all menu it's have a vegan and or vegetarian option.Parking: Street parking“
“The gelato is expensive but really good. I tried a few before landing on pistachio and hazelnut. Got it in the house made vegan waffle cone which was tasty. $10 for a single scoop 2 flavors in waffle cone for reference. Really good natural flavors, worth a stop. The lady serving was very friendly too“
“1903... wow. A friend bought a box of mochi here and I was able to try some. I'm not big on mochi since I'm just so so with red bean filling, which is most common. The mochi was pillowy soft though. I'm glad I got to try it from this place. If you're looking for mochi in Sacramento, Osaka-Ya is just as good!“
“By far the best Sangak bread in town! Ever since I tried their Sangak, I can’t eat any other Sangaks. The quality of their dishes is far superior compared to any other place in town. The owner is extremely friendly and their service is exceptional. Highly recommend it.“
“Looking for a caffeine oasis in the heart of Hollywood? Look no further than Javista! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the warm smiles of the friendly staff. The cozy ambiance makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or dive into your latest book. Their espresso drinks are expertly crafted, and the pastries and sandwiches are to die for! Javista has quickly become my go-to spot for a delightful coffee experience in Hollywood. Highly recommend giving it a try!“
“4 assorted donuts / 1 glazed, 1 reese peanut butter, 1 cinnamon sugar o-nut (cronut), 1 nutella strawberry o-nut - 5 ⭐!DK's Donut & Bakery in Santa Monica is an excellent, family-owned 24-hour donut shop and cafe that has been in business for over forty years. They have a mouth-watering selection of fresh donuts, including an impressive assortment of cronut inspired donuts.Their little shop is in a small strip mall in Santa Monica. I had no trouble finding parking right outfront. The shop has a colorful, pink-focused theme. They had an outstanding selection of donuts on display in their glass cases as well as a nice, large menu board offering up all kinds of snacks, drinks, and sandwiches. The four donuts I sampled on my visit to DK's were fantastic. It was honestly a very hard decision. I had to limit myself to four because when I buy donuts, I have very little self control and know I am going to eat them all the same day. Besides, donuts are always best when they are fresh. The strawberry nutella cronut style donut was amazing. Lots of rich, hazelnut spread flavor mixed with strawberry. The plain glazed donut was top notch. I always try to get a plain glaze and use it as a baseline. A great plain glaze donut is always a treat for me. The cinnamon sugar cronut and the peanut butter cup donut were also great.I know there are other "DK" donut places out there. This one is a real treat and I think it is the OG one. If you are in Santa Monica or are passing by, make sure you stop by and support a great local business!“
“Amazing museum restaurant. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but the food and service exceeded my expectations. The squash pasta has a Nerano style feel with pumpkin flowers on top. The tuna carpaccio was good with crispy garlic fries, but it was too salty. But I enjoyed it so much. I Will visit again.“
“I was introduced to Sidecar Doughnuts in 2017. I have been a fan since. My favorite donut from them remains to be the Saigon Cinnamon Crumble. It is more of a cake-like texture and I like almost anything cinnamony. This donut tastes more like coffee cake. Coffee and sugar are my staples for everyday living. So, it is almost impossible for me not to love this donut as it has my basic necessities wrap up in one perfect little package! This time I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee to go with the donut. It didn't taste like a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee. Instead, it tasted more like an iced latte. So if you are looking for a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee, don't get it from there. Don't get me wrong, it was still good coffee just not what the name said it was. This location is off Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica about 7 blocks from the beach. I really like their packaging as well. The boxes the donuts come in are modern and simple with bold gold letters of the store's name. This location is small and has seating outside. There is metered parking on the street. Service was just okay. I wish the people working there could have been more friendly. All in all, this premium donut chain that started in Costa Mesa in 2012 is still very popular and is definitely worth trying for the first time, and going back for me!“
“Tiny little bakery, in little Tokyo specializing in Asian baked goods. It was packed so I didn't look at everything they had, but they had plenty of good looking sweet stuff to ruin your Hollywood diet. I just grabbed snacks to take on my travels. I snagged a bag of melon pan and it looks and taste just like anime told me it would. Also got a couple steamed buns, sadly they were sold out of anko, but I got pork and curry. Haven't tried those yet, but the melon pan got me excited for them.“
“Everything time you come down to Griffins Observatory you have to came to The Trails for there few goodies especially their lavender shortbread cookie! That's what we ordered and Avocado Sandwich. Their sandwiches are bountiful like you can see the picture I can explain it just few words you got to come here and try it. Service are very friendly and the environment is very cute and planted seating area.“
“I had their Tiramisu cake slice. Kinda dry. Staff was more interested in having their own conversations than taking my order. I felt like I waited forever but probably was more like 5 minutes for them to finally take my order. I also had their chocolate chip cookies. Definitely delicious.“
“One of my favorite eateries in the world. I’m from France and this is one of the few places that is as indulgent as home with their baked goods. They made me a beautiful birthday cake years ago despite an unusual flavor request. Their biscuit-bun burger is delicious and the terrace is an awesome cozy spot to hang out. A must try if you’re in the area!“
“Solid American Restaurant serving up good burgers and drinks! They have a solid tap list for beer!House chips are crunchy and addicting.Their fries are crispy and solid with the aioli sauce!Burgers are supposedly American wagyu! It was a nice melt in your mouth patty. The toppings are something serious. Amazing bacon, pretty good mushrooms, delicious camerlized onions. It tasted even better in the toaster oven the next day.Service was good, they were busy waiting many tables. Donavan was helpful and attentive.Nice interior decoration. Good feelingI would come back again for the burger and beer!“
“The greatest cookies I’ve ever had and it’s setup at a gas station! Amazing cookies and the selection is way more than expected.I had the walnut gooie, cloud 9, the chunkie and the chocolate oatie. All four were delicious and had its own distinctive style. They lived up to the “gooie” expectation and were really filling. I think two cookies were enough to get me good & the others were extra credit. Load up on napkins and the customer service was great.Just be aware the gas station didn’t have whole milk, just 2% but all the cookies were still phenomenal by themselves. I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.“
“Akasha was delightful!! It didn't look like much as you enter but walk through the bar and you've stepped into an open dining space with tables close enough to feel in community but private enough to chat! The food was delicious... we had the avo/beet salad and Caccio e Pepe along with the avo toast appetizer and the blueberry cobbler for dessert. Sitting to note, their happy hour is well worth showing up early for... we did dirty martinis for $10!! The service was on point- Kenny was a gracious host who made us feel cared for! Recommend highly and will be back!“
“A cookie store that seams to like to take things to the next level. They don't have your plain cookie choices. The chocolate chip option has 3 kinds of special chocolates. Some choices made with duck eggs, lots of vegan choices. Almost anything you can dream of they made a cookie out of it.All the cookies are hand made, hand mixed and custom made by actual bakers not machines. They are very large cookies, very soft and not dry.Even though they have cookie in the name they seam to be equally famous for their expresso, coffees and milk shakes. The milkshake come custom with pieces of their cookies crumbled inside which they go grab fresh from the back. They have a good selection of Gelato which was very good. And how can you beat Gelato and a cookie. There was indoor seating and outdoor seating as well. Staff seam very friendly and loved to talk about their baking process. They will tell you how everything is handmade and made fresh to order. Brag how everything is hand mixes so you don't get the machine melting to chocolate or leaving uneven mixes for the batter. The Staff does a good job talking up the cookies and the cookies live up to the hype.If you are staying in some of the higher end Beverly hills hotels you can ask the front desk if they have any of the cookies available, as they seam to be the go to cookie for the big hotels to display in their lobbies. If they have run out, stopping by the store is a must stop while in town.Parking: Lots of parking options. Closest is paid street parking. Depending on the time of day you can park right in front of the store. There is a parking garage about a block away with free 2 hour parking or a parking lot a block the other direction offers free parking for the grocery store but a good choice for a quick cookie stop.Kid-friendliness: Lots of cookie, Gelato, milkshake options. The milkshakes are real cookie pieces which kids seam to find extra exciting.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the entrance and easy to move around store“
“I love this place. It's charming, it's delicious and a spot for locals to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee. Parking is hard to find to be honest, at all times of day. I believe it's the locals who live close by that walk here that frequent Figaro. We were lucky enough to find parking on a Tuesday morning most recently. We ordered pasta, a hot chocolate and a coffee. My favorite time of day to eat here is evening. The inside of the bistro is gorgeous, and makes me feel like I'm in Paris. It's old and full of charm. The service is great, and we receive our orders fairly fast. Definitely check this place out, but Uber if you can.“
“The Sycamore Kitchen was such a delight, the space is really cute, the service was amazing (super friendly & very quick/efficient), the food is delicious (great portions for the cost, and tasted great), and the coffee was tasty. We had the Jerusalem Bowl & Eggs Benedict, both tasted very good & were sizable portions.Def will be back.“
“Was visiting my daughter who lives in the area. The food and service were great. Need more local craft beer options. Had the signature burger. Came hot and exactly as ordered. Family loved what they had to eat. Brussel sprouts were a favorite. Drinks were tasty as well. We will make a point to visit each time we're in town.“
“O m g. I cannot breathe from the amount of food we ate. It was SO good. More than enough food for tonight and the next day and the next. The chicken parm was SO tender and soft, the fettuccine soooo creamy, and the cheesy garlic bread was such a great side. We were served quickly and attentively by Julio! He is AMAZING. such a friendly face and so so helpful with the menu. We can’t thank him enough!“
“Yet another yummy & memorable meal. Server Chris was a delight, help staff expedient. Tonight owner chef Suzanne was sadly gone & older man Host very very rude as he doesn't understand Fed & CA & LA Laws about clearly marked & bibbed Service Animals, esp a 10# tiny CavaPoo that is extremely well-behaved & lies quietly on floor as if not present. Refusing our OT resy nice Dining Room Table several times in an attempt to place us in the empty & barren & unwanted bar corner area was a BIG mistake...luckily he gave in as confronted on his wrongdoing. Missing owner chef Suzanne would have likely been upset with him too...“
“staff was great .live that we can get a kids scoop since mom has diabetes. asked for a flavor and they made a suggestion and the flavor was close to my parents liking that dad wants to go back!! staff very sweet and helpful. So many yummy combinations of flavors!! oh I want more of that sweet cream biscuits and peach jam!!“
“Took 2 friends there to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were very good. Noise level was WAY too high. We were in a small room in the rear with just 3 tables: ours, one with two men and an empty table. The two men were talking so loud that we couldn't hear each other at our own table. We commented to our server (who kind of shrugged) and then finally one of the women at our table calmly, politely told the men she was enjoying their conversation but couldn't hear the conversation at our own table. They chuckled ("are we talking too loud?") and then proceeded to continue their conversation. It was so uncomfortable that the woman celebrating her birthday said although she liked the food she'd never return to the restaurant. The men had finished their meal about halfway through our meal and we were anxiously waiting for them to leave, but they didn't. Definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. I think the server, or host, could have helped to have them turn down the volume.“
“Every time I visit LA I stop by Spitz for a Mediterranean falafel wrap and half and half fries. It is always consistent, fresh, flavorful and filling. I crave the falafel wrap when I'm back home on the East Coast but haven't found anything that compares.“
“Came here to try out their five course Valentine's Day dinner and it was AMAZING! The food is made with love. Every dish was neatly made like it was a work of art. The drinks were also out of this world. I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The service was probably one of the best experiences of my life because the atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly. I'd love to come back here next year and experience the food all over again!“
“There are few places that leave both my hunger and heart satiated. Electric Karma is one of them. From the amazing food to the wonderful customer service and the amazing company I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying here, I cannot express how happy this place makes me feel.I’m eternally grateful to have shared conversations with my dear friends in the back room, legs crossed, hunched over the low tables. There’s something so special about passing plates back and forth, ensuring everyone gets their fair share, that makes me feel so lucky.Whenever I make plans to go here, I look forward to it all day. I can’t wait to come back and share space with the host and my friends again soon. I’d give them 6 stars if I could :)“
“Came here for lunch on a Friday. Cocktail was good, garlic bread was very good. Pasta was decent. Pinot Grigio was hinky, and server was nice about taking it off the check. Service was friendly, but they are understaffed. Huge menu. Solid neighborhood place.“
“Super delicious cupcakes. They're soft and sweet, but not too sweet like some other cupcakes. Great flavors that taste real. We moved 45 mins away and still drive back for the cupcakes on special occasions. The owners are really nice too.“
