“Perfectly spongy vanilla cake with sweet strawberry filling! The berries were delicious. Cake was smooth and spongy and not too sweet! Love it! They wrote in my birthday message with beautiful writing. I will definitely return to try some of their other pastries!“
“I am a long time customer of Helena Wirth Cakes. I have been doing business with the Manager (Mary) for 4 years now. Every summer, I make an appointment with Mary 2-3 weeks prior to my birthday and she always is eager and ready to bring my ideas to reality in her creative space. Even after we have finalized all the details, she will contact me a couple times prior to the pick up date just to verify the details or to suggest new ideas. I have purchased my birthday cake every year for the last 4 years at Helena Wirth Cakes. This year for my 30th Birthday, I came to Mary very excited for my 30th birthday cake. The cake is themed with ideas from my favorite TV series. Once again, she created the perfect cake for my birthday and made my 30th birthday very special! She is an Amazing Woman and her business produces perfect Cakes!“
“One of our favorite places to have family dinners at. It has been in business for over 65 years. The pizza is delicious here. I love their supreme pizza and the cheese pizza the most. Their house antipasto salad is amazing and I always order it. Pastas are good as well. The linguini in clam sauce is perfection. I can go on and on. The service is great so is the ambiance. It's very dated but it works just fine. I love the atmosphere of this place. Feels like you are back in the 60s (not that I was alive in the 60s lol) anyways you get the point. A must try if you haven't been. We used to live nearby years ago and would visit very often. Now not so much but from time to time I feel like dining here. Last night we ordered to go food while visiting some family nearby. It was a great meal, even for take out.“
“This was the first time I had been to the new location. It is beautiful. Especially in comparison to the old place. It's bright and airy, and the high ceiling makes it feel very comfortable. When I ordered online, it was very convenient. I didn't check the bag, though. I got home, and the falafel wrap was missing. I called and told them that. Miriam was very nice because I told her I was in the South Bay. She said that was fine and I could pick it up the next day! I did, and it was great.Vegetarian options: I'm not sure if they are strictly vegetarian options. However, if that's what you're looking for, you can definitely find some satisfying dishes.“
“Had a lovely brunch here for Easter - it's a La carte which is different than the usual Easter brunches we have gone too but the food was great - we had shrimp w grits special. My parents loved the salmon and the country fried steak. The pasta for the kids is fresh so it does take longer. The ambience is great as they had live music and the spot is so pretty all wicker chairs and lush green.“
“Portions are very large so keep that in mind when ordering. The crab curry was delicious - you can get it de-shelled too which is quite helpful! The spice level is crazy spicy so a medium is whoa, hot. Moo ping (pork skewers) was too much pork for my boyfriend lol, which is never a thing!“
“"Sippin from your cup 'til it runneth over..." I heard JT performed at the Wiltern last night for free so I had his music on repeat in my head all day today during work. So of course I had to stop by here as soon as I saw the store name. I did NOT expect to find the best donuts I've ever had in my life. Period. I walked in and was greeted warmly and decided to just order the Original Sin and their version of classic milk. They were so nice and gave me another donut for free which was the Obrama. Everything was so scrumptious. I loved that the donuts weren't too big. The quality of the donut is so good that it only needs to be a smaller size to have the same effect as something larger. The outer texture and the crispness reminded me of the blueberry m&m donuts that they sell in OC where people line up for hours to buy. The donuts here taste better because the inside texture is a lot lighter and isn't as dense so you don't feel disgustingly full afterwards with regrets. I cannot wait to come back and get some for my family and friends. I wanted to test it out myself first prior to sharing with others. Yum! Also their classic milk was soooooo good and complimented the donuts so perfectly.“
“Ordered the Stuffed Cheese and the Chicken Wrap. Both very tasty and full of flavor. The Stuffed Cheese had an herby, lightly salted and nutty flavor combined with the mellow white cheese wrapped in a soft dough. The Chicken Wrap was more crispy like a wood fire pizza, it comes with tomatoes, onion, cheese and pickle, very good middle eastern/Mediterranean flavor.“
“Ummm wow just amazing across the board. We were able to sample quite a bit. One of the outstanding treats was the grilled brussel sprouts. The margarita pizza was classic, but tasted a cut above, I think it's their sauce. The Caesar salad is big, and boy I ate all of mine. It had a perfect balance. Try the deep fried porta Bella mushrooms with their creamy dipping sauce, you might pass out it's so good.Next time I need a desert from their French tarts and macaroons in the glass case.“
“This place just screams EXCELLENCE ALL THE TIME. The well trained staff, the ambiance/atmosphere, the food and drinks. It's a well-oiled and efficiently run machine. Prices are extremely reasonable. Every PORTO I have been to operates in the same harmonious way.Dietary restrictions: Gluten, sugar, dairy, caffeine“
“Great vegan restaurant in Melrose. The food has plenty of flavor and tastes fresh. Prices during happy hour are very affordable, and it’s a great for big groups to share bites and drinks. Atmosphere is nice, especially outdoors on the patio. The highlight of the evening for me was the olive oil brownie — a must try!“
“ou won't miss the meat" at this "go-to for high-end vegan" and vegetarian dining, a "phenomenal" "late-night find" on Melrose offering "inspired" "comfort food" and "creative" Vegan cafés abound in health-conscious L.A., but Crossroads Kitchen, which opened in 2013, sets itself apart by turning plant-based dining into a white tablecloth affair. Crossroads is a high-end vegan restaurant for carnivores. Plant-based chef to the stars Tal Ronnen—he counts Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres as clients.“
“Are you willing to work for your food? Are you willing to wait in a long line? If the answer is yes then please take the time to try Apollonia's. Their hours are strange and they are cash only in the restaurant but it's worth it.This is best thin slice pizza I have had in California. They also have incredible Detroit style slices. The pepperoni vodka slice is a must try.Very little parking.Parking: Very little parking. Small lot that is always full.“
“We came here for Easter Sunday brunch yesterday. It’s a cute restaurant with friendly staff. However, I expected the food to taste better…I ordered their classic breakfast pizza suggested by the server. First of all, it looked great. I’m not a fan of the fake bacon because it tastes like paper. After the first couple of bites, I realized the pizza was barely edible because of the amount of big rosemary leaves added in the pizza dough. I had to hand picked them out of the pizza to avoid tasting the ‘soapy’ rosemary flavor… and I love rosemary in general. Just not THIS MUCH. I asked my friends to also taste my pizza and they all told me I should send it back.Luckily, our server took it back right away and gave me the option to change to a different pizza. The second pizza I ordered was margarita pizza. It was pretty blend. But at least edible.I do need to say their menu is probably a hit or miss. My friends ordered the breakfast burritos that they enjoyed a lot. Which is why I’m leaving it 4 stars.Note: very limited street parking and $20 valet parking.Parking: Very limited street parking and $20 valet parking.“
“Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream! Let me tell you it definitely hit the spot, one of the best ice creams I've tried I can see why it's one of their top flavors. I got the single scoop and it's a good amount of serving but I should have gotten a double scoop for sure! If you love chocolate ice cream and Oreos, then this is the perfect flavor for you. Although, there is a hint of coconut in the aftertaste in case you're not too huge on coconut. But the actual flavor overpowers it. We went late at night but the service was still good! You have to be careful not to miss the window it's right next to a small coffee shop. There's a few chairs around to sit after or you can walk around and see the other shops around. Very small space but great ice cream! I will definitely need to go back and try other flavors!“
“5/5 Written from a former bakery owner. My family owned a bakery in Detroit for 40+ years and sold it during Covid in 2021. I know baking and so does Toluca Bakery. Excellent customer service. Family owned shop with the mom and son working when my friend and I went in. So much variety, and the price point is low for all you’re getting. This is a bakery making old school, classic recipes. They veganized so many items that you can’t find in most places. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious, concha’s super tasty, Tres Leches was chef’s kiss, turnover amazing, danish great, cupcakes yum, eclairs fantastic and empanadas scrumptious. Highly recommend. Plus for folks who like supporting small business, this is exactly that. It’s a win-win-win-win. Taste-options-price-family owned & operated. Get there!“
“The atmosphere or ambiance is excellent. It's a small community restaurant with excellent food. The only reason for the 4 is it was a bit cold inside.Vegetarian options: Almost all menu it's have a vegan and or vegetarian option.Parking: Street parking“
“The gelato is expensive but really good. I tried a few before landing on pistachio and hazelnut. Got it in the house made vegan waffle cone which was tasty. $10 for a single scoop 2 flavors in waffle cone for reference. Really good natural flavors, worth a stop. The lady serving was very friendly too“
“By far the best Sangak bread in town! Ever since I tried their Sangak, I can’t eat any other Sangaks. The quality of their dishes is far superior compared to any other place in town. The owner is extremely friendly and their service is exceptional. Highly recommend it.“
“Looking for a caffeine oasis in the heart of Hollywood? Look no further than Javista! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the warm smiles of the friendly staff. The cozy ambiance makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or dive into your latest book. Their espresso drinks are expertly crafted, and the pastries and sandwiches are to die for! Javista has quickly become my go-to spot for a delightful coffee experience in Hollywood. Highly recommend giving it a try!“
“Amazing museum restaurant. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but the food and service exceeded my expectations. The squash pasta has a Nerano style feel with pumpkin flowers on top. The tuna carpaccio was good with crispy garlic fries, but it was too salty. But I enjoyed it so much. I Will visit again.“
“Everything time you come down to Griffins Observatory you have to came to The Trails for there few goodies especially their lavender shortbread cookie! That's what we ordered and Avocado Sandwich. Their sandwiches are bountiful like you can see the picture I can explain it just few words you got to come here and try it. Service are very friendly and the environment is very cute and planted seating area.“
“Solid American Restaurant serving up good burgers and drinks! They have a solid tap list for beer!House chips are crunchy and addicting.Their fries are crispy and solid with the aioli sauce!Burgers are supposedly American wagyu! It was a nice melt in your mouth patty. The toppings are something serious. Amazing bacon, pretty good mushrooms, delicious camerlized onions. It tasted even better in the toaster oven the next day.Service was good, they were busy waiting many tables. Donavan was helpful and attentive.Nice interior decoration. Good feelingI would come back again for the burger and beer!“
“I know this pizzeria for about 6 years. They have the best pizza in Winnetka, if I don’t exaggerate they have the best Persian pizza in Los Angeles. Every time I have a party, it doesn’t matter birthday party or just having my friends over for a football or basketball game, everyone ask me to order some cheese or pepperoni pizza from Thyme. We all recommend this place. Next time instead of ordering pizza from Domino’s or Papa Jons, try Thyme Pizzeria. You won’t regret. Also they have this heart shaped pizza which is good for special occasions like Valentine’s Day or anniversary.Vegetarian options: I’m not vegetarian. But I believe that if this place offers a fully vegan menu, vegetarians can find lots of vegetarian options. I’m not sure if they allow substitutions on their vegan menu it. But it doesn’t hurt to ask. Definitely, they have tons of vegetarian food.Dietary restrictions: They have another menu a full vegan menu with bunch of vegan specialty pizzas, vegan pastas, vegan appetizers, and vegan desserts. Also they offer gluten-free and cauliflower gluten-free pizzas. I’ve never tried those options.Parking: There are lots of free parking spaces.“
“A cookie store that seams to like to take things to the next level. They don't have your plain cookie choices. The chocolate chip option has 3 kinds of special chocolates. Some choices made with duck eggs, lots of vegan choices. Almost anything you can dream of they made a cookie out of it.All the cookies are hand made, hand mixed and custom made by actual bakers not machines. They are very large cookies, very soft and not dry.Even though they have cookie in the name they seam to be equally famous for their expresso, coffees and milk shakes. The milkshake come custom with pieces of their cookies crumbled inside which they go grab fresh from the back. They have a good selection of Gelato which was very good. And how can you beat Gelato and a cookie. There was indoor seating and outdoor seating as well. Staff seam very friendly and loved to talk about their baking process. They will tell you how everything is handmade and made fresh to order. Brag how everything is hand mixes so you don't get the machine melting to chocolate or leaving uneven mixes for the batter. The Staff does a good job talking up the cookies and the cookies live up to the hype.If you are staying in some of the higher end Beverly hills hotels you can ask the front desk if they have any of the cookies available, as they seam to be the go to cookie for the big hotels to display in their lobbies. If they have run out, stopping by the store is a must stop while in town.Parking: Lots of parking options. Closest is paid street parking. Depending on the time of day you can park right in front of the store. There is a parking garage about a block away with free 2 hour parking or a parking lot a block the other direction offers free parking for the grocery store but a good choice for a quick cookie stop.Kid-friendliness: Lots of cookie, Gelato, milkshake options. The milkshakes are real cookie pieces which kids seam to find extra exciting.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the entrance and easy to move around store“
“O m g. I cannot breathe from the amount of food we ate. It was SO good. More than enough food for tonight and the next day and the next. The chicken parm was SO tender and soft, the fettuccine soooo creamy, and the cheesy garlic bread was such a great side. We were served quickly and attentively by Julio! He is AMAZING. such a friendly face and so so helpful with the menu. We can’t thank him enough!“
“The Sycamore Kitchen was such a delight, the space is really cute, the service was amazing (super friendly & very quick/efficient), the food is delicious (great portions for the cost, and tasted great), and the coffee was tasty. We had the Jerusalem Bowl & Eggs Benedict, both tasted very good & were sizable portions.Def will be back.“
“Yet another yummy & memorable meal. Server Chris was a delight, help staff expedient. Tonight owner chef Suzanne was sadly gone & older man Host very very rude as he doesn't understand Fed & CA & LA Laws about clearly marked & bibbed Service Animals, esp a 10# tiny CavaPoo that is extremely well-behaved & lies quietly on floor as if not present. Refusing our OT resy nice Dining Room Table several times in an attempt to place us in the empty & barren & unwanted bar corner area was a BIG mistake...luckily he gave in as confronted on his wrongdoing. Missing owner chef Suzanne would have likely been upset with him too...“
“Every time I visit LA I stop by Spitz for a Mediterranean falafel wrap and half and half fries. It is always consistent, fresh, flavorful and filling. I crave the falafel wrap when I'm back home on the East Coast but haven't found anything that compares.“
“There are few places that leave both my hunger and heart satiated. Electric Karma is one of them. From the amazing food to the wonderful customer service and the amazing company I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying here, I cannot express how happy this place makes me feel.I’m eternally grateful to have shared conversations with my dear friends in the back room, legs crossed, hunched over the low tables. There’s something so special about passing plates back and forth, ensuring everyone gets their fair share, that makes me feel so lucky.Whenever I make plans to go here, I look forward to it all day. I can’t wait to come back and share space with the host and my friends again soon. I’d give them 6 stars if I could :)“
“Came here to try out their five course Valentine's Day dinner and it was AMAZING! The food is made with love. Every dish was neatly made like it was a work of art. The drinks were also out of this world. I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The service was probably one of the best experiences of my life because the atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly. I'd love to come back here next year and experience the food all over again!“
“Came here for lunch on a Friday. Cocktail was good, garlic bread was very good. Pasta was decent. Pinot Grigio was hinky, and server was nice about taking it off the check. Service was friendly, but they are understaffed. Huge menu. Solid neighborhood place.“
“An absolutely outstanding dinner. The service here is top notch from busser to server to bartender, the food is to die for, & the atmosphere is very nice while still feeling comfortable. We celebrated my boyfriends 29th here and had calamari, pear salad, & two pasta dishes. Before we left 3 staff checked in with us to ask how everything was. Traditional italian - you wont regret stopping here! Thank you for making our night so special.“
“Super delicious cupcakes. They're soft and sweet, but not too sweet like some other cupcakes. Great flavors that taste real. We moved 45 mins away and still drive back for the cupcakes on special occasions. The owners are really nice too.“
“First time trying this place out. A busy coffee shop with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of people studying and working most likely while enjoying their drinks. I got the cold brew but didn't like it much, it was a bit too acidic for my taste. Will try other things next time I'm here. But I gotta mention it was the cheapest cold brew I ever bought, $4 for a 16oz ... they also sell baked goods such as scones and biscotti etc.... Service was friendly and fast. The ambiance is ok.“
“So good! I tried a number of menu items and loved each. The shrimp soup was perfectly spicy and packed with wonderful flavors, the appetizers (hot wings and chicken skewers) were outstanding and my entree - pad see ew with beef was just perfect. The service was ideal - helpful fast and informative. I'll definitely be back very often!“
“This is one of my favorite brunch places in LA! The loco moco hits everytime and the matcha pancakes are something I order every time I eat here. Their pancakes are also something that my friends and I love to share. Service is fairly quick, I'd say food arrives 10 min after seating. They do get busy in the morning, so be sure to come early!“
“Ike's has the best vegetarian subs around! Well, from what I've tried anyway. Few months back I tried their Freddy Krueger sandwich (not vegetarian) on their dutch crunch and it was great. The dutch crunch is delicious. I also tried their James and the giant peach recently and it'll be my go-to anytime I visit for sure! All the ingredients come together perfectly and the vegan fried chicken is good too! Their sandwiches come with a candy (caramel apple lollipops) and as someone with a sweet tooth, I love it. Service was good and my sandwich came out in a timely manner. It's a great place to grab a bite after running errands in the plaza.“
“Friendly service with a smile from start to finish.Favs are the oatmeal raisin and the original chocolate chip walnut. If you’re in the mood for chocolate fun - two chip chocolate chip and dark chocolate peanut butter chip was amazing!Parking sometimes is toughtough here. There’s meter parking and a parking lot on both sides of the street.Dietary restrictions: They have vegan and gluten-free chocolate chip walnut cookies available ?Parking: Metered paid street parking“
“I've been coming here for years, I can't believe I haven't written a review! I love their food. My favorite item to order is their mung bean pad thai, although I wish there was an option to get it with soy chicken or beef and not just tofu skewers. The tofu cubes are huge so the flavor doesn't really penetrate them. I like this dish because the noodles and veggies are flavorful. My family also enjoys cashew nut lover dish and the buddha rolls. Those are so filling, I can just get those and be happy. If you like thai tea, you must try it here. So good. One star off because parking is difficult, especially on weekends, and it's a little pricy for me. The good thing is that inflation has led to all restaurants raising their prices in the last couple of years, so I am more used to it and not as bothered as I used to be . Note: the seats are incredibly uncomfortable so if you dine in and have back issues like me, bring a cushion.“
“Fans of scone!! You must come here!! This place has some of the best scones in LA. Crispy on the outside and plush and buttery on the inside. The rosemary fig flavor is to die for! I also tried the earl grey, which could have had a stronger earl grey flavor but it's all good. I can also report that they make a solid cappuccino, which I think is very telling of good coffee in general. The vibes of this place are perfect for meeting someone or working/studying. There is lots of seating inside and a beautiful patio with lots of seating outside too. It has the ambiance of a quaint bookstore without having any books. Service was great.“
“One happy Brazilian! ?These are some delicious brigadeiros! If you haven’t tried yet, you are missing out! They make a great gift and the perfect dessert when entertaining friends and family. I live in CO and had them shipped to me. They arrived beautifully and safely packaged. They are the perfect sweet bite! Thank You Maya’s Brigadeiro!!!“
“The Kettle Glaze place is one of the best surely everyone loves. It’s the best place to buy deliciously made donuts, drinks freshly made at an affordable rate. From the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and warm welcoming. Excellent service and foods great.“
“Today was my 1st time ordering at Leo’s. I ordered the hot hash bowl & it was so delicious I had to take it home! Parking is easy at this restaurant & the cashier gave me excellent customer service. I didn’t order a drink but he gave me a cold glass of water while I waited for my food to finish cooking. The cook is very special. She definitely knows what she’s doing in that kitchen. As society becomes more health conscious, I really hope places like these get more attention & customers. Being a small business owner myself, I hope Leo’s stays in my community & continues to thrive. I recommend you try this place. The food tastes amazing & the atmosphere is positive. Good vibes!“
“It was pi day, so it was BOGO—definitely value for money! We had such an enjoyable evening and were even gifted a dessert because one of our pizzas took a long while to come out. Our server (Jessica, if I heard correctly) was gracious and in good spirits considering how busy it was. Naturally there was plenty to take home, and I can verify that my leftovers were still delicious today! Bonus: a really adorable and beautifully quiet baby at the next table.“
“Wanted a non-chain savory breakfast and Miracle Bakery popped up. Super nice owner has a sparkling clean, adorable corner bakery across from my motel. I ordered a breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese, lettuce, avocado) with brewed coffee for $10. Can't beat the taste, quality or service.Vegetarian options: Ordered the breakfast sandwich, very good, just skip meat. There are a couple other choices.“
“Such an amazing gem. Wanted to eat after a night out but finding vegan and healthy food was tough. This was worth the drive! The food was incredible, so flavorful, all organic and vegan. So much selection. We are the grain pancakes with the tofu scramble, sausage and has brown and the waffle deluxe. Generous portions and well seasoned as well as they served it with date syrup. The hot chocolate with oat milk was the best I've had. The cinnamon was so fresh and not too sweet. The vibe is such a trip because it's like entering a portal with snoop dog on a wall and then Mayan woodwork art.Great service too!100% recommend and open til 12a on a friday“
“Best local frozen yogurt and ice cream shop--always providing amazing customer service, tasty quality flavors and toppings (like their marshmallow sauce and 10/10 cookie dough), and endless customization options. The service is always speedy and friendly, employees will offer great recommendations. Located inside the Gelson's market, you can get your grocery shopping done while they keep your order chilled for you, and pick it up on the way out. Or you can stay in and get it delivered. The cake batter and chocolate flavors are my favorite but you can't go wrong with any of the ice cream or yogurt options. Highly recommend this spot!“
“I stopped here for breakfast before going to Universal Studios Hollywood as it's located so close. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! This is a cute little French cafe. The decor was very thoughtful with French flags and cozy seats. I wish it was night time as it looked like they have lovely fairy lights for the evenings. The person at the register was friendly and our food was fresh made and probably took about 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered the alpine tartine without bacon and it was DIVINE. I really enjoyed it and the mix of Brie, sour cream, egg, potatoes, and bread. I did add some hot sauce and pepper but it was very good. I appreciate the side salad to balance out the heaviness. I did not have space for their pastries but they looked amazing. I will say the one major downside is that they did not have espresso or specialty drinks when I visited which I found disappointing. I got a canned cold coffee which was okay. I would've loved a latte or cappuccino to pair with my breakfast.“
“Visiting from WI, randomly chose Mr Pizza and I was blown away! The guys in charge seem to really care about the food they send out. Not much of a dining room, I would recommend just doing carry out. That being said the ingredients and overall taste were FANTASTIC, one of the top 5 pizzas I’ve ever eaten! If you’re in Van Nuys give these guys a shot!“
