“Felt like I’d stepped into a time capsule when I walked in and got a large cup of boba milk tea for 2.99. Those are 2010 prices in 2026!! The drink itself was simple and not anything outstanding or gimmicky like those overpriced fancy boba drinks you might find elsewhere nowadays. But for 3 dollars, it was simple and tasted like childhood.

The store looks quite old and many of the displays are weathered, but I didn’t mind it a bit because it felt extremely nostalgic to me. The man who rang me up was also very friendly and I wish him all the best.“

“Me and my boyfriend had hookah and drinks here after dinner at yamshiro (upstairs) our server recommended this lounge so we checked it out after dinner. You have to have reservations on the weekends here as it gets pretty busy but luckily the host made something work for us I believe her name was Maria. She was beyond sweet and kind and stunning too!!! We had such a beautiful time, she gave us the best seats on the beautiful patio as we over looked the view! I highly recommend you guys go here. “We recently held a memorial, celebrating the life of a loved family member at Yamashiro and the experience was nothing short of amazing! This restaurant has great food, beautiful views and a very welcoming atmosphere so they don't need to negotiate prices. However, our party was on a budget and to our very pleasant surprise, the manager worked with us to fit the evening into our limited budget. The service was outstanding and the food, well, I'm repeating myself but, again, absolutely amazing! Some establishments are willing to work within people's budgets, but the food and service level tends to reflect the lower pricing but that was NOT the case here: We were treated as if we were the only people in attendance that evening. The occasion was bitter/sweet because we lost a loved one but, by the end of the evening, we felt as if we had spent the evening at a family member's house and we will NEVER forget this evening, on many levels. Thank you, Yamashiro, for making our evening extra special for everyone in our party!“

“The best items we got here were definitely the dumplings, which are like soup dumplings, and the crispy pork buns which also had plenty of broth inside. I thought those were super unique, never had something like that before and I really enjoyed the crispiness of the bun. We also got the popcorn chicken which was fine, but a little bit oily and heavy to me, while the pork soup was very light and tasted very clean. Would definitely come here again, truly enjoyed the meal and it was uniquely Taiwanese.“

“This is my OG favorite Thai spot starting way back in 2007 when I moved to Pasadena! I recently went back to give it another try and it's as good as I remember, prices are now considered reasonable and even good especially the lunch specials, and everything still tastes fresh and high quality. Even some of the servers are still some of the original servers from 2007! They said they love working there. The inside is unique, used to be a wall of empty frames but they made it a bit more artsy but definitely eclectic! They also have if you dishes that are not straight tie but Singaporean or Malaysian. A lunch special for two and both of us getting one iced coffee and one Thai tea came out to a whopping ;-) $40. I think that's super reasonable for high quality Thai food and the drinks added $10. Stopped by Chibiscus for lunch, and it totally blew me away. I ordered the ramen, and it was a solid 10/10.
The broth was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect depth to it. Exactly what you look for in a great ramen.
The toppings were incredibly fresh. The egg was cooked to perfection with that nice, jammy yolk, the bean sprouts added a great crunch, and the meat was super tender.
The portion size is great—definitely leaves you full and satisfied.
The place is clean, the service is fast, and the vibe is very welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic, comforting ramen, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!“
