“Holy Moly! Really good charcoal-fired kebabs at a really good value. This Mom and Pop place is clean, welcoming and offers high-quality food. The steak kebab was amazingly tender and flavorful and the Spicy Chicken breast and regular Chicken breast kebabs were equally delicious. We ordered the platter which includes perfectly prepared rice, creamy hummus, lavash bread, and a large green bbq’d pepper and tomato. The kebabs and vegetables are cooked over a charcoal fire, which adds to the wonderful flavor. The owners are personal and friendly and have pride in their business. The restaurant is located in a small center and not visible from the road. There are a few tables, but it is primarily take-out orders. I will definitely be back to try the Lula kebabs and the red bean salad.

“Cute cafe spot with good food. Cute The only part that reduced the food starts was that the potatoes could use some seasoning. I used hot sauce but didn't seem like there was any seasoning on them. The omelet and pancakes were excellent. And real fresh fruit in fruit cup. The mint lemonade was also very tasty and refreshing, highly recommend!

I was SO SAD I was not able to stay due to a long drive and only was able to stop by for a cold brew coffee. They closed at 2 am though so I was so grateful they even served me at I think 10 min till close!

If I go back to LA some day, I WILL be visiting this bar! And not 1-10 min before they close!!

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“I've always seen a line in front of this place but at 9:30 am on a weekday we were able to get seated immediately. We had the key lime pie and the onion omelette sandwich and the chorizo omelette sandwich.

The egg sandwiches were almost crispy on the outside and running and silky on the inside if you prefer your eggs cooked that way. The key lime pie had a bold lemony flavor and everything was well presented and appetizing looking. One of the egg sandwiches was presented wet which was a little disappointing.

The atmosphere is great and it's the kind of place you can take folks to for breakfast for the vibes“

They walk you through the options and make tip top recommendations. The place is always slammed at night, yet the manager is extremely accommodating and always finds a place for me to chill and savor the weekend ambiance. I’ve never had their food, but it looks delicious. All the servers are friendly and have excellent people skills. The outdoor space is a fun hang too if you have a group. “The fact this didn’t pop up for best restaurants in Burbank when searching google and TikTok is a travesty. This was phenomenal in every way and the owner genuinely seems to enjoy what he does. Everything is made in house including their sauces, the meat they used is displayed. If houses around here didn’t cost 1M I’d move here and eat this every day.

P.S. House sauce is amazing and the images pictured is the classic smash burger with an extra patty and the pastrami burger (which the wife loved)“

“The chicken kabob plate was excellent. Perfectly marinated and flavorful chicken served a delicious Greek salad and perfect rice. “As some other reviewers I knew this place from youtube and was glad I went here when visiting LA. The quality of the food and the friendly staff are top notch. We tried steak, chicken and falafel tacos as well as quesadillas. All were great with the chicken tacos being my favorite. I truly loved the variety of flavors you get with every single bite. It was so good that we ordered some more tacos on our way out, as a snack on our road trip.

The obvious downside is the location in a bit of a sketchy area, but I assume that can hardly be avoided in LA.“

Their bagels on their own (judged by eating them without any CC or toppings) are wonderful and I much prefer them over the bagels from Courage, Layla, and Jyan Isaac. They have all the usual suspects (poppy, plain, onion, everything, sesame, salt) and what I’ll call a zeitgeist spin on a typical Asiago bagel: the cacio e pepe. It was unbelievably good and such a unique flavor - the crushed peppercorns were the perfect touch.
