“Stunning bar, perfect atmosphere!!!!!
I was SO SAD I was not able to stay due to a long drive and only was able to stop by for a cold brew coffee. They closed at 2 am though so I was so grateful they even served me at I think 10 min till close!
If I go back to LA some day, I WILL be visiting this bar! And not 1-10 min before they close!!
Dietary restrictions: Dairy Free - So Tired I did not check to see if it was milk or not - I don't even know what I asked for or got but genuinely just needed that caffeine.“

“Wife and I swung by for a work session. Staff was super friendly and the food was on point. Good non alcoholic options are available and the bathroom is gender neutral. There's a wall of post-its folks have left and the level of trans positivity and sapphic joy on those notes gave me all the feels. Can't wait to go again!“

“Great atmosphere and wine list. However many of the dishes were a bit over rich/ light on flavor. And look, I know, don’t go to a fancy wine bar expecting value, but the price of many of the simple dishes (salads, simple pastas without meat) were above normal even for LA. Service was friendly but slow“

“Bacari Glendale: It is a beautiful place we have always wanted to go to. We took two friends for a belated birthday dinner (and as the staff realized it was just that, they even rewarded us with a delicious birthday dessert :-). Great service, nice ambiance, and delicious food - we had the bread (could have been a bit more for the $4,50), then shared the Mac & Cheese topped up with the pear and brie pizza that was the best.“

“Fancy restaurant with extremely courteous, personable and friendly service, who informed us about the levels of spiciness. We really enjoyed the meal and the starter salad was extremely delicious and spicy, despite the fact that we got the “not spicy” version. The large main courses (Pad Thai and drunken noodles with pastrami) were unbeatably fresh and delicious. It is very crowded and too loud and shrill inside for our taste, but you can sit comfortably and quietly outside in the evening! Absolute recommendation!
Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: Some dishes are labeled as gluten-free but are not celiac disease-compliant.“

“Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The linguini de mare was phenomenal and... arancini! I thought I'd never eat them again once I gave up dairy. I'm over the moon!“

“Great little wine bar/restaurant on York Street in Highland Park. The wine selection is fantastic and the food is also quite good. My partner and I are plant-based and there were a few good options to pair with the wine they offer. The atmosphere is very cool and relaxing and the service is excellent. Highly recommend and will be back!“

“Eclectic but elegant setting with an excellent curated wine offering and one of the finest reserve lists anywhere. The charcuterie sections are also first class. A stylish and sophisticated night out.“
“So, I was not expecting to have a beer while perusing a nee bookstore this weekend, but lo and behold! I desperately needed to charge my dying phone, and couldn’t find an outlet anywhere in the book aisles. So I stumbled across The 1894, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Their happy hour is awesome- a french pilsner for only $6! And the staff went out of their way to accommodate me near an outlet where i can drink and charge my phone. Again, was not expecting this pleasant bar, but will def be back!“

“We've been attending a handful of concerts at Hollywood Bowl this year. We loved Fattoush Salad (different recipe from how our family makes Fattoush Salad) but was delicious! The Lamb Chops were OK, but Spanish Fried Chicken was just fried, you can't taste or see any chicken meat inside. I have a feeling all vegie dishes here might be delicious, but not the ones with any meat. Service and atmosphere were amazing! We will go back to try different dishes, but for sure to have the Fattoush Salad.“
“This is such an awesome spot to meet friends or work colleagues, and to stock your wine cooler! Be sure to get empanadas and salad from Puerto Rican Eats. The inside is lively, but mid-century modern cool. There’s also patio and sidewalk seating. Hannah and Ariel will help you find what suits your palate (and they also play great tunes). If Doug the owner is in, you’re in for a treat!“

“Update, two weeks later: So after a slightly rocky start, we went again - the food and wine were excellent as before, but the service really really improved since the last time. I can highly recommend this place to go for a good time. If you are with friends, make sure you try "family style" - order loads of munchies - the four of us shared the charcuterie board (the salami was among the best I ever had), the flatbreads, the baked brie - and a sample plate of their delicious oils - so so so good - and given the superb quality, reasonably priced. Not to forget: did you ever try vanilla ice cream with olive oil - you should ;-) So thankful they understood and appreciated my earlier review. I will surely go again soon. Previous review: Oh, what a wonderful place - and an amazing concept. My wife and I took two friends yesterday. We were seated at a table for two, with the promise to be relocated to the table next to us as patrons were close to getting their check. Never happened, no problem.I wanted to order a bottle of wine. The service recommended tasting their canned wines - 4 different ones for $49. Canned wine? I come from Germany, from Koblenz, where the rivers Rhine and Mosel meet. Canned wine? Seriously? Still, why not try something new?So the four of us received four balloon glasses with the four wines. Wine tasting? Share every glass physically with four people in times of Corona? They must be kidding. I would have expected to get four cans - and, in all honesty, four small glasses for each of us. Sure: it ain't the Ritz - a personal glass for each of us. But sure: this ain't "The Ritz," so we shared. We are really good friends, and we did have a good time. The wine was OK - which sounds as if something was wrong - it wasn't. It was OK - nice experience, but I would personally not order again - while it may be perfectly fine for you, the reader (by the way, I appreciate you reading this ;-)Then: the food. As with the wine, we wanted to share. We started with the baked brie, which was really really good, and the burrata flatbread, which came soaked, and I really mean soaked, in Oil. Sadly, it did not come with silverware. We asked three times but never got it. Then, we asked if we could have at least some napkins. We got two. We were here to share, weren't we ;-)I asked for the check. The printer had issues. Happens. We were not in a rush. Service offered a sip of wine while we had to wait. Sure, a nice gesture. Sadly, the wine never came. After just under half an hour, we got some sort of check - still issues with the printer. We were charged $61 for the wines - they were charged separately and not, as per the menu and recommendation, as the $49 offer. $12 was refunded. Receipt: sorry, the printer.I really wanted to love the place, and as we enjoyed the company of our dear friends in a nice atmosphere, loved the brie, and drank the wine, I did not want to spoil the evening by arguing about the service, which really "has potential."It would have been easy to make this a five-star recommendation, as the location, atmosphere and general concept scream fabulous. I would possibly go again. At the moment, I feel sorry for the place.“

“Absolutely top tier French cuisine. The escargot were fantastic and so flavorful. The interior is wonderfully designed and has a great ambiance. The service is fantastic and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The perfect spot for a date night, it is dimly lit and very intimate. Incredible experience.“
“I just want to say how much I love coming to Dargenzio Winery. The owner and his staff are always very welcoming. The food is excellent. I love the ravioli and pizza. Filippo, the owner knows his Italian wines very well and does an excellent job with the pairing of the wines with the food, so definitely ask for him and ask him to do that for you.Dargenzio Winery also has a good amount of outdoor space, which is a plus in these times. I definitely recommend you to make reservations and go there. Tell him Eddie said hi and referred you.“

“This is our local pub; we don't order wine (of which they have a nice selection), but they have a few European beers on tap that are quite good (including Guinness). They also have bottled beer if you prefer. This is a family owned pub (also "1881" on Washington/ Allen in East Pasadena), & you can usually catch owners Gail (sorry if I misspelled!) & Judah "Ben Hur." Actually he looks more like Mick Fleetwood and you can sit at the bar and have a chat with him if you want. I just like to say"Judah Ben-Hur" from the movie BEN HUR (1960?). Great service & vibe. Not fancy, just a great neighborhood pub to have a beer or two (I recommend several, if you have a designated driver). There is actually 3 areas you can drink- at the bar, a room for a few parties, and a secluded outdoor area for smokers in the back. It's quite cool & we feel at home there. If you live in Altadena/Pasadena on the west side (on Fair Oaks North of Woodbury) this is the bar for you. They also have pizza which is quite good. Judah is English, Gail from Chicago, and they have family that help out. It's a great little ace! Check it out! I'll be there tonight- look for the good looking older gent with the Roy Orbison glasses. He can be quite entertaining!“

“I never leave reviews but something has come over me. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the neighborhood in a while. It had a very calm and inviting atmosphere, while the staff was right on point the whole time. We ordered two pizzas and both were amazing!! The restaurant was impressive on all fronts; food, atmosphere, great service, and again, it was run extremely well. Truly can’t believe it took me so long to try it, but I will definitely be coming back again.“

“10/10 recommend! Food is absolutely delicious and we tried most items on the menu! Super nice interior and truly family run restaurant with brothers working in kitchen and waitering, making it feel like your living room. Long drive from Santa Monica but 100% worth it and will definitely be back soon“

“I love Vinos. It's such a chill atmosphere. The bar tenders are lovely humans. The food is great and the drinks are superb. I always enjoy my visits and look forward to returning again. They have some unique cocktails. One of my favorites is Lovers in Japan, which is a Japanese twist on a whisky sour (I think). The servers are very patient and helpful in explaining their wines to newbies like me. And I've learned a bit.“

“The owner is incredible. She is lovely, and more often than not is there making everything happen. The atmosphere is cozy, beautiful and delightful with limited outdoor options. There is a room in the back for a larger group, but without that its great for parties of 2-3. The soft scrambled eggs are insanely delicious. A great spot for a European feeling.“

“Really fabulous experience. We were visiting and stumbled upon this place by accident because the smell caught our nose. Service was great, and the chef was excellent and kind. He does a rotating menu based on the seasons so ingredients are seasonal and very fresh. The dishes were refreshing, flavorful, interesting and not too heavy. We ordered the waldorf salad, grilled sourdough (so good), tuna crudo, aguachile, and risotto (amazing). Wanted to try the griddle cake but they were out. Also you must get the strawberry shortcake for dessert if its in season, we ate it so quick and savored every bite. Thank you to the team at Holy Saints, we’ll be back!“

“Had to stop by my favorite Italian grubbin in the heart of Old Town Pasadena all the way from Boise. This was my 3rd time and each time just keeps getting better; definitely the bigger the party, the better. We paid $225 for 4 pasta entrees, 3 appetizers, & 2 glasses of wine for a party of 6. I’ve learned to like my pastas al dente after having them here. The meatballs are banging, the wine-pairing was delightful. Our service was attentive and pleasant; the vibe is always vibrant and homey. Highly recommended.“

“Excellent place! Very authentic, interesting choices. I didn't choose this restaurant for vegan, but was delighted with a mushroom pasta dish from that portion of the menu. Tasted a meat dish & a seafood 1 from family members; also excellent. Particularly liked short ribs ragu & the bread was terrific! Good moderate priced wines. Friendly service; will go back.“

“Republik Coffee is as solid as it gets. It has good food, good coffee, and a good ambiance, which makes it a great hang out spot. The breakfast burrito, an almond danish, and a hazelnut cappuccino. It's not a large breakfast burrito, but I felt like all off the ingredients were good quality. The danish was good, and the cappuccino was solid as well.“

“It's rare when every plate you order is great but from the appetizer to salad to entree to cocktail to dessert --everything was delicious. The biscuits and ham were fantastic. The wedge salad had great flavor contrasts. I had the stroganoff which was fantastic, highly recommend it. My lady had the flat iron steak which was generous and had an excellent char. I had the rum drink where the surfer's go, and it was hard not to order another one!
If you're in Eagle Rock I definitely recommend dinner and drinks at Little Beast.“

“It’s a chill place with medium sound levels, not loud enough to hurt, but loud enough to fill the space. It’s got a great seating arrangement with tables, booths, bar, patio, and outdoor seating.
On the menu is food (if you come early enough), great craft beers that are fresh with clean tap lines, wine, seltzers, and N/A options. Some of the beers can be a little on the flatter side (just a bit). The service is prompt and polite.
It’s good for groups of all sizes (I would call ahead just in case it’s busy) and solo people as solo patrons do visit also so you won’t feel too weird, although most are in groups“

“Delicious, stupendous, fun-filled evening with convivial personalities always attending to our needs. Owner Kari is delightful and you will have the warmest hospitality warm welcoming while noshing on the most delicious choice of grub!! No slacking here; food is beautifully prepared by co-owner Kevin with farm fresh to table delights, whatever is in season and at its peak of freshness. Hubby and I so highly recommend and we don't say that lightly- we aren't always the easiest to please with all our fussy requests. None ever needed here as we will take each and every dish just as Kevin prepares it. Hoping they can host our daughter & future son-in-laws reception!! Can't imagine on giving their guests anything short of delightful and scrumptious selections!! Check schedule as they often are hosting weddings, parties, and such with no wonder why!!“

“This place was amazing. My husband and I have been looking for a new sushi spot for a while. It was delicious. I'm vegetarian and was worried they would have nothing for me. I had the garlic edimami veggie roll and vegetable tempura. Delicious. My husband had the baked salmon roll and baked lobster roll. He can't stop talking about it. To top it off the menus had scripture on them. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 ... Love it!!!“
