“This place is beyond delicious! The chicken tacos, the creamy corn, and passion fruit lemonade were my favorite. My daughter got the tamarind chicken sandwich and that was amazing as well. The service was great, Jesus was very attentive to our needs. Try this place out!“
“We got 5 dishes total and 4 cocktails. All the food was delicious, however every dish had a spicy and sweet flavor profile. While delicious, compared to other restaurants of this price point, they had quite an overlap in flavor. The beet salad, and clams were outstanding. On the maximalist cocktail menu, all drinks were unique and well presented. Highly recommend the “long season” cocktail. Ambience and decor is beautiful and definitely worth a try.“
“Was fortunate enough to run into this little gem of a place right before closing on a Sunday night. Started with the spring shrimp rolls that were so fresh and dipped into the delicious peanut butter sauce. I had the grilled shrimp vermicelli that was immaculate, and my companion had the shrimp pho that she absolutely loved. The service was great, the staff so welcoming and they were nice enough to wait until we were done to close. Will definitely visit again.“
“We ordered the duck noodle soup with egg noodle for delivery at 2am. It hit the spot for sure. We ordered through yelp and the delivery person had us come out to meet her at her car on the street, so we weren't a huge fan of that, but the deliver option even half an hour before they closed was greatly appreciated.“
“I ordered the Kimchi & Pork Dumplings, the Signature Potstickers, and the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. The dumplings and potstickers were pretty bland- they didn't taste bad, they just didn't taste like much, especially when you're expecting kimchi. The Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup was better, and that's what I mostly enjoyed. In terms of asian food in San Diego, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but it does okay if you're in the area and don't want to travel all the way to Convoy. Nothing to say about the service, since the style is mostly self-serve. Very casual place, meant for quick dining. Glad I came, but I don't think I'd come back.“
“The fried rice and cashew chicken were amazing. This will be my go to for fried rice in the area. However, the mango chicken was terrible. Both of us thought it tasted almost exactly like honey mustard and made me sick to my stomach with the syrup/mayo taste. I like sweet but this was unreal.I'm not sure if they changed the recipe because it looked lighter in color than pictures others posted or maybe messed up the ratio that day.“
“First time trying out this spot and I will definitely be coming back. We were there for the happy hour and there were tons of options on the hh menu. The regular menu is very extensive too. I ordered the crunchy roll and salmon nigiri, both were very good and had lots of flavor. It’s nice to have a quality sushi spot in Mission Valley, finally!“
“Facing East Noodle & Bar isn't your average ramen joint. It's an orchestra of tastebuds, conducted by fiery spice and led by the rich melody of their savory broths. My recent visit was a revelation, a testament to their culinary artistry. The star of the show? The Spicy Deluxe Paiko Ramen. Imagine this: a chorus of perfectly cooked noodles bathed in a soul-warming broth, each note hinting at the impending heat. Then, the star tenor arrives – a luxuriously breaded chicken paiko, crisp on the outside and impossibly juicy within. As you bite in, the floodgates open. The spice hits you in waves, not a brash assault but a carefully measured crescendo. It mingles beautifully with the chicken's gentle savoriness, creating a harmony that lingers long after the last bite. But the symphony wasn't complete without the pork dumplings. These delicate morsels were little pockets of perfection, filled with juicy pork and bursting with flavor. The accompanying chile aioli was the perfect counterpoint – a cool, creamy contrast that soothed the heat and accentuated the dumpling's savory notes. It was a masterclass in balance, a delightful interplay between fire and ice.Facing East isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a place where spice becomes an art form, and every bowl is a testament to their dedication to deliciousness. If you're looking for a ramen adventure that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more, look no further than Facing East Noodle & Bar. You won't be disappointed.Big thanks to Ana the chef who made this all possible!“
“I work at the jiffy lube across the way and this is the best dang lunch I've had all year. Really really good comfort food, at a good price, five stars for sure! It wasn't too crowded, even faster than a drive thru when I went. I'm not some teriyaki connoisseur but I know delicious when I taste it!“
“I am in awe of the spicy ramen. Can’t eat it enough. I’ve never really enjoyed ramen but this place has made me a believer.Service has always been friendly and atmosphere is great for a quick dining experience.Parking can be tricky during peak dining times, lunch and dinner.“
“The food has gotten really good at Shanghai Bun. We have been ordering take out about once a week for the past several months and have not been disappointed once! The broccoli beef is a favorite. Tender beef, perfectly cooked and NOT fatty with crisp broccoli. Kung Pao chicken also a favorite!!!“
“I came in with my family for dinner based on a recommendation and am so happy that this place delivered! Such a great little Lao spot. We ordered the nam khao, crying tiger beef, Lao sausage, and laap tuna. All slapped but the nam khao was extra good, A++. Quick service despite it being a busy Saturday night and impeccable music :)“
“The crab fried rice was full of crab meat and fresh veggies. You can get your spice level from 1-10. I chose medium, so about a 5 (which wasn't very spicy at all). Rice tastes really good with the sweet sauce drizzled on top. I also had the spicy sweet wings which were just the right amount of crispy and sweet.“
“I love coconut girl! Heads up though, they are no longer in PB next to dirty birds. I went there and it is now a Thai restaurant. Go to the address yelp gives on Boston. Copy and paste it into gps because hitting get directions will direct you to the PB location“
“The people are very friendly and the food comes quickly. I wish they had more veggie options for me but i enjoy their fried rice and chow mein with extra veggies...this is in the middle of little italy food court so the ambience is lively..the large tables are nice if u plan to eat with friends there...i have done carry out most times on a cold evening when i crave chinese food in the area. A bit on the expensive side.Vegetarian options: Fried rice and chow mein can be made vegetarian.“
“The food quality is 1000% better than Panda Express. Also the prices here are great. For $10 ($11 and some change because of taxes) you get 3 entres and a side (chow mein or rice or half and half) and a soda. You simply cannot beat it (especially in this part of town).“
“It's perplexing to see negative reviews without specific details on dishes. Having worked at Hithai for five years, it's a personal favorite, especially for the fantastic Pork Chop and Panang curry sandwich. The Thai Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Egg Noodle BBQ pork are also top picks. Criticizing the prices seems unjust, as these dishes are reasonably priced at $5 for to-go orders. If you're seeking a great atmosphere, La Jolla on Garnet St or Pearl St has many Thai restaurants, albeit at a higher cost of $30-$50 per person. Personally, I give Hithai a 5-star rating for its delicious food and the friendly service, with special mention to Stan, the excellent manager, and his amiable staff.“
