Waited 20 minutes in line, but it moved quickly. You could tell the baristas were working hard. The customer service was great, and the coffee was delicious. Lots of variety when it comes to seating. The ice here cubed and it's amazing. Highly recommend!!“

I had a work trip that took me to San Diego recently and I would walk a few miles to this shop every morning just for the beautiful experience this place gives. It was the perfect way to start the day! When I came back I actually ordered bags of coffee as gifts for family for the holidays and a few for myself as well (it's that good yall!) but somehow mine never came so I wrote the staff and they sent me two bags just to make up for my lost package. “I highly recommend ordering their Oat milk Draft Latte! Their seasonal flavors never cease to amaze! They've had some intriguing flavors that have blown me away. Never too sweet, always perfectly balanced to complement the coffees. The only negative opinion I have is of their chai tea latte, it could (and should) definitely be improved as it doesn't match their same level of craft and quality as their coffee and other teas. Their pastry selection is incredible! I'll drive out of the way to get an olive oil cake or almond croissant here. They do have gluten free pastries available too!“

“Achilles Roasters is solid for coffee. There’s a couple more in San Diego and I tried one more. This one here is a hole in the wall place and you can sit outside but construction work on a high-rise over the street makes you want to stay as little as possible. The bagels are great and you can choose your bagel type and fillings.“

“Update: Virtuoso was once, the higher end, Organic coffee beans that give the coffee a fresh and, most notably, a clean taste that is highly enjoyable. Was one of the best Coffee Roasters in San Diego County. This was my go to roaster for every day coffee. It's changed to Talitha, and I dropped one Star for two reasons: not knowing if the beans are roasted freshly or part of a big batch that's a few weeks old; and, second reason, slow shipping--no beans yet. One plus, Talitha still have a few beans that made Virtuoso, and ordered them. Will they be as good, or even better, I will update. My biggest issue with ever roaster is not knowing type of bean(s), origin, country, etc...“

“My name is Bruce. This is one of my favorite coffeehouses in all of San Diego. I love the place. It's very relaxed and low key. The service and friendliness of the staff are great. It's in a great location for people watching. It's very dog friendly as well. And they make sure to memorize the names of the regular customers. It can get crowded, due to the convention center visitors coming over.“
