“On wednesday, I went to this Subway. I was really hungry, and my mood had been terrible since morning- I had fought with everyone. When I got there, I met Mr. Ravi, an Indian guy. When I asked him for an extra scoop of tuna, he told me it would cost extra, and I got annoyed because it looked too little. I was already angry, but he handled the situation so calmly and respectfully that he actually made me laugh in the end. His service was so good that it genuinely made me want to leave a review, because he was completely right from his side. I truly salute that kind of customer service.“

“It was my first time going to Urbane Cafe in a while and I wanted to sign up since I come to LBX more often. I wanted to use my voucher to get a free cookie, but it didn't work for me since the card I wanted to register on the app was not going through. The worker was so nice and decided to honor the voucher since I showed her that I really did sign up when I went.

The tomato bisque was good and I highly recommend getting there.

Sandwiches are good, bread is fresh, and everything tastes like it was made when you ordered it instead of sitting around waiting for someone to grab it.

“Delicious mom and pop shop ran by a couple that sells really good sandwiches that have a home packed lunch feel and taste to it. I ordered the roast beef sandwich and it had a good amount of vegetables and the bread was good. It came with a small potato salad and I also ordered the spicy tuna sushi which was both delicious.

The couple that runs this restaurant is very nice and welcoming and I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area for lunch.“

“This sandwich shop is a gem in Long Beach. Its sandwiches are unique and delicious. It was my first time and I took the recommendation of the very nice woman at the counter. (Possibly the owner. I should have asked) The sandwich was rich and buttery, delicious and served on a pretzel roll. Perfect lunch time item just large enough to fill you up without pushing you over the limit. The sandwhich was loaded with meat. It is an outstanding quality and superb flavor the fries were a perfect balance of crispy on the outside soft on the inside. The food and so worth every penny. “This was my first time at this location. Wanda was my sandwich artist and she was lovely. There was no one else in the store and we had a delightful chat while she expertly and efficiently made me the perfect sandwich. She said that even when it's quiet and there are no customers, she stays busy in the back doing her prep. She seemed like a real asset to Subway - I hope they value her! In addition, the place was spotless and well-stocked.

I deducted a star because Subway has only one worker there for a lot of the time, which seems not only unsafe, but terrible for the workers. The second time I went back, Wanda was being run ragged, between online orders, walk-ins, and prep. She handled it like a boss and was just as friendly and cheerful as ever, but it's unfair to work people like that.“

“My husband and I stopped by after seeing Eddie Izzard's Hamlet right down the street. I got the Damon Bruce and my husband got thr Hollywoo. Both were fantastic (though I tried both and think i picked best). The dirty sauce was surprisingly sweet, and the only complaint I have is that it was sweeter than I would have liked. Did not stop me from devouring the deliciousness, though. I will be back if I am in the area again.“

“Growing up outside Philadelphia, I’m always on the hunt for authentic Philly cheese steaks. John’s has excellent cheese steaks and has been a Huntington Beach favorite for decades. The bread is amazing and baked locally which is a key ingredient to simply amazing sandwiches! They stuff a lot of meat and cheese and peppers and onions in there, and the result makes ya wanna shout, “Go Birds!” Someone will probably shout it back, too. If you like cheese steaks, yeah, get em the way ya like them at John’s!“
