“Seven of us (5 adults, 2 kids) went here for a birthday brunch. Our server was so friendly and good at pacing the ordering and serving of the drinks and food. He was also very kind and friendly to our 2 grandkids. The food was all delicious - best eggs Benedict I have had. He wished our son a happy birthday and brought him a delicious chocolate pudding with whipped cream for dessert along with enough spoons that we could all have a taste. Batch & Brine is one of our favorite restaurants in the Lamorinda area.“

“Grew up nearby, The Roundup is the oldest bar I remember, could be the oldest bar in Lafayette, or one of at least. Great to see family and friends at this fine establishment“

“An incredible spot to enjoy some top quality draft ciders. I'm not an expert on ciders by any means, but I've had some incredible stuff here (I've particularly loved anything I've had from Yonder). The vibes here are great, the bartenders are lovely, and they have some great merch for sale! My mom who visits from out of state has bought a tote bag, hat, and sweatshirt from Redfield just so she can flex to her friends back home how awesome this bar is. If you enjoy cider, or even if you just want to stop in for a quick beer, this is a great and classy place to come to. Love Redfield!“

“Kava is a new thing for me. To be honest, I'm still not sure about the taste. But the culture here is amazing. I found myself having actually-delightful conversations with the folks around me, and my date and I really enjoyed being able to curl up on a convenient couch and chat just by ourselves, too. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and even gave us a few samples of things so we were able to follow along with our senses.“

“Wow! Back in the palace of blended drinks and fine seating arrangements. The frozen drinks were theatrical, but colder than expected. Please sip with caution. The wooden interior reminded me of what it means to be alive. I am wistful for the glittered sea shell toilet seat. Where are they? Please. Someone respond. If you come here, you will leave. “The staff here are AMAZING! Is this a dive bar? Yes. Are they gonna look at you funny is you try to order a speciality cocktail that you’re used to getting downtown San Francisco? Yep. But that’s the whole point, you’re here to drink traditional and familiar fantastic drinks! I started coming here with friends a while back and over time many of the bartenders and other employees became like friends! As a woman I always felt safe as they had their eye on everything going on, and I always had a blast anytime I came. Specifically, Peppi and Michelle, really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I had to move away and they spent money out of their own pockets to throw my a going away party at the bar. I have never experienced a closeness like this to an establishment where I’m a guest, and it was very appreciated. I am moved away now and very much miss the service and atmosphere I had at Lucky 13!“

“This is a five star review from someone who doesn’t even like beer. The bartenders here are either very good at what they do or performing some kind of sorcery, but somehow they always manage to find something that I enjoy!

The beer selection on tap and in the fridge is super broad, really high quality, and constantly changing; the atmosphere is laid back; you can bring your own food in; and dogs are allowed! Their regular trivia nights and other events are always a good time as well.

“Don't drink, so I ordered a diet Soda. The bartender warned me that he didn't know who's diet it was but that it wasn't that good. He was being nice to what ever it was I had. Disgusting,Horrible diet soda. Everything else was great. Except a Niners glass....Probably because of my Seahawks Shirt.“

“Always a fun time, if you havent tried it its worth a stop. Coffee shop by day, bar evenings thurs-sun. They have an awesome Happy hour on thursdays at the time of review (5$ beer, 7$ mixed drink if I recall right?). If I do get a mixed drink, this is the place to get it. Pictured is the egg white sour. They do breakfast, but not dinner foods durinb bar service. Also, as a plus, they usually don't have live music, so you can actually hear the other person you're talking to.“

“If you've ever been to Heart and Dagger, then you know it's a quintessential Oakland dive bar.
No fancy frills or eccentric cocktail menus. Just decently priced booze, good music, and plenty of space for good company. The back patio is rather large and a cute little hangout spot with a gorgeous tree and some cool old signage! The only caveat is that it's a smoking patio, so if that isn't your thing, you'll just have to enjoy the inside and front. The staff gets their shit done and will definitely be nice to you as long as you're nice to them! But also, it's a dive bar: don't expect the fine dining experience and just have a good time!
There are lots of yummy food options nearby that you can bring in. Sometimes, they even have a food vendor in the front, but I don't know much about the frequency.

“Wow I didn’t realize how popular this place would be! 7pm on a Weds and we couldn’t find a table for our small group. But the super kind server, Josh, helped us and said they sometimes hold a few spots for larger groups so I’m glad we asked. Josh continued to impress - checking on us, making sure the kiddo with us was well-situated in the hidden kid’s book nook, and giving honest opinions of the drink offerings (letting us try samples before deciding). The vibe was great — screen-free, dimly lit, and full of books 🤩🤩“

“One of my all time favorite spots to play pool, bartenders are great, they don’t gouge you for the drinks while having a nice selection of beer and whiskey. Security does a phenomenal job especially when the place is busy and they’re super friendly. With a pinball machine, shuffleboard, and darts it’s tough not have fun while you’re there.“

My only nitpick is that good parking options are limited- there are metered street spaces across the street, otherwise the nearest Walnut Creek garage is a five minute walk away. Avoid the neighboring garages as those cost an arm and a leg.“

“The bartender Carlie is a true sweetheart. The service is stellar. They give you HUGE Shots here. I've never seen anything like it. She gave me 4 shots and it's like 2+ shots in each drink. Money will spent and they're not expensive. Based on quality of service I would've given them a 5 star review but it's just a dive bar. I'll be back #FACTS“

“Tony the owner has done a terrific job in creating a local rotating craft beer house. The staff are tremendously friendly, samples are always available before you get a full pint! Sunday Funday is my favorite, with live music until 5pm. Great place to hangout, have some awesome fried cheese curds and wings, kid friendly as well. Checks all the boxes!“

“Cali’s in Berkeley truly blessed my family this Thanksgiving. If it wasn’t for their generosity and kindness our Thanksgiving wouldn’t have been same. My family was gifted a Thanksgiving meal and it came at a time we truly needed it. The week prior to receiving this amazing meal our family was on the news about food insecurity. I’m deeply grateful for the love and community spirit they showed my family.
We weren’t just gifted food it was the entire meal down to the smallest details like the turkey was brined and stuffed with butter and herbs, the green beans had loads of Parmesan cheese and please know that is not a complaint the cheese to green bean ratio was perfect, the gravy was so flavorful and everything was incredibly fresh. It was the best turkey I had ever had. The meal was incredible. The portions were truly family size. It was a very thoughtful meal that felt very elegant. It even came with broth to moisten everything. It fed a family of 7 and everyone had left overs. I can’t forget to mention it came with a huge pumpkin pie and instructions on how to reheat everything properly, and it was extremely easy to bake.
This made our thanksgiving actually filled with fun and as the host I wasn’t stressed at all, dinner was easy and delicious. It was the best Thanksgiving we’ve had in quite some time.
