“I walked into the restaurant on a Wednesday (March 13) night as a solo traveler (no reservation) and ended up sitting at the bar. I’m so glad I did because I not only got to enjoy the cozy yet finely curated atmosphere, but I was also able to see the bartenders at work. And let me tell you, they make amazing drinks and are awesome servers. Honestly, sit at the bar if you can! You’ll get a great experience. Highly suggest the A5 old fashioned. I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy just a regular old fashioned again- the A5 is just that good. The food is impressive- interesting and familiar yet new and unique. I narrowed my choices down and asked the bartenders recommendation - it came down to the mantou and coal roasted cabbage. If you need the perfect light dinner combination that’s your pick. The mantou sour cream topping was out of this world. It tasted like a buttery flavor-packed merengue on top of a perfectly steamed bun. The cabbage was just spicy/acidic enough and complemented the mantou perfectly.Would absolutely go here again. And if the tables are booked, go sit at the bar!!!!“
“My husband and I went to this place for a date night on Sunday, from the moment we arrived the staff was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered margaritas which were delicious. We ordered the egg rolls, masa dumplings, duck fried rice, Brussels sprouts, scallop skewers, and 2oz A5 wagyu. The meat was amazing! So buttery and delicious. All the food was delicious, we over ordered but I have no regrets because it was so hard to decide what not to get. The portions were decent size and everything came out quickly. I felt like the prices were reasonable for the quality and amount of food we received. We will be going back with some friends so we can order more items next time.“
“The food was really good. However, the restaurant is very short staffed. There were two waiters for the entire restaurant which was full. The same waiters were also making drinks, helping with to go orders, and seating people. In essence, it seemed like they were doing everything besides kitchen duties. It was Saturday in the evening. They need to actively look into hiring additional staff. At least 2 more waiters per shift and a hostess. I saw one of the waiters hit his leg on a bench because he was seriously trying to work as fast as humanly possible. I would go back because the food was bomb, but perhaps at opening time or early afternoon on a weekday when perhaps they are not as busy!“
“Excellent food and great service. A smaller menu but the dishes are some of the best I've had. We've been here three times and will continue to come back. Highly recommend the stir-fried green beans, Dan Dan noodles, pork soup dumplings and the beef noodle soup.“
“5/5 on food, service, and atmosphere! The restaurant is beautiful and peaceful, the manager (or maybe the owner I’m not sure) is over the top friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious! It’s our new favorite place. I recommend the rare beef pho, spring rolls, and crab rangoon.“
“Review for Pick up Stix # 747 I Love this particular Pick up Stix, I come here all the time! The food is excellent & the staff is very friendly and helpful. When I have my next party I want to try Pick up Stix catering. I would prefer for the food come from this Pick up Stix(747). Today we were helped by Mario; he was wonderful. He helped me get back on the app., checked with us during our lunch to see if we needed anything. As an RN I'm impressed with the number of healthy choices on the menu & they're Yummy!“
“We celebrated my nephews birthday yesterday at Signature Thai and had a wonderful time! This is our favorite Thai restaurant in all of San Diego and we are thrilled that we moved closer and get to visit often. However, last night was an even better experience! We had Amy as our server and she was fantastic!! Amy was attentive and patient with our large party. She made sure everything was perfect from refilling our drinks, to removing plates out of the way, to making sure the kids were comfortable and also cared for. Her attention to detail and customer satisfaction exceeded our expectations and that says a lot since this spot is already ranked really high on our list! We enjoyed seeing the wonderful thematic decor (Easter decor is up and very cute), the fish tank, and trying new delicious items on the menu. We were not disappointed! Everything we picked was very delicious and the plates are very well portioned.“
“Ok I don’t write reviews for local places because I am on the run all the time. HOWEVER, when something blows me away I like to promote them. OMG the gnocchi bread amazingness is unbelievable! I have had gnocchi before even in Italy but severed in a bread bowl OMFG that is amazing. The vibe is trendy low key. I think this is my new favorite restaurant in San Diego! P.S. wife had sushi and said it was delicious (I hate fish so no idea there but she likes it for reasons unknown to me?). Perfect date night or couples who have different palates. Just a great place you should go!“
“During restaurant week, I was enthralled by the vibrant colors that adorned the place. It's a delightful fusion of Latino and Asian flavors. A highlight was witnessing a seasoned female bartender patiently instructing a novice on crafting a virgin drink.“
“First time visiting this place. It was a cute, cozy atmosphere. It feels like you're in someone's home. They have a full bar and food menu. I ordered the steak and fries and the BF ordered a burger. We started with their calamari and drinks. I have to say, everything was GOOD. Food was fresh and delicious. My bloody mary was really good and well put together. Service could have been better, but I don't regret trying this place.“
“For December nights in balboa this year we tried the bbq pork and the spicy pad kaprao burgers and they were super tasty! I'd never had a burger with the buns switched out for rice. Though I loved the flavors, serving size, and spiciness it was a bit too much rice and the whole thing was pretty sticky. The cooks and people in the booth were super cool and friendly, letting us take pics of them while they made the patties and eggs. We also got the Thai iced tea with boba and again, though it was good, it was a little too sweet and the boba was really gummy. I'm sure their actual location will have better quality and freshness than just a pop up in the park.“
“What a cool spot! I’ve never seen anything like it on where I’m from on the east coast. The shop felt like a pizza or burger joint, it didn’t have the usual Asian restaurant feel that most sushi places have. Katy, the bartender was so friendly! There were 10 beers on top and the happy hour deal put the price of a beer to $4.50! What!?I ordered a rainbow roll and a hot hot roll. Everything was super fresh. The rainbow roll was delicious and beautifully presented. The outside of the roll alternated pieces of salmon, tuna, and avo sashimi style to create an alternating color “rainbow” pattern. It was a neat detail to an already great bite. The hot hot was fairly mild and tasty, would definitely order again.“
“Had the Meatball Soup and Spiced Street Chicken. EXCELLENT and would love to have again. Outside seating is nice when the weather is too. Lack of parking might be an issue for you but I literally walked over here after an appointment with the VA clinic nearby.“
“Food is always on point and authentic. You can just smell it when you walk in that it’s the real deal. Absolutely love the taro milk tea here! The peanut sauce is the best - they add enough spice and flavor to it. They put effort in seasonal decorations, keeping the place neat, and just the overall atmosphere is nice. One of our favorite Thai places for sure.“
“We love eating here. Carla the cashier is super friendly, very attentive and gave us information on how to earn points towards our food since we eat here all the time. She was very helpful and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend the tofu dishes!“
“Having food allergies and ordering to go food can be so dangerous for me, I'm SO thankful I finally came into this place. It's absolutely delicious, everything is fresh and even though I declined sauce, the woman said "oh, u have to have sauce with it, it makes a huge difference" I informed her about my food allergies and something had to be left out and they made me special sauce, and it's DELICIOUS. I keep coming here, because it's on the way home ?? BUT I also want to mention that I have taken a gargantuan amount of orders for doordash customers, obviously it's good. I believe 81-89 are vegan options, which is greatly appreciatedVegetarian options: 81-89“
“Absolutely one of my and my wife's favorite places to eat. This specific restaurant, this specific address, these specific employees create a wonderful dining experience.I am always delighted by the speed at which the food arrives at my table, and my wife is always astounded at the speed at which the food then enters my mouth. The food never disappoints. This must be the greatest Thai restaurant in the U.S.Jolly good show.“
“We are regulars here because the service is top notch, the food/sushi is excellent, and the bartenders remember us and our favorite drinks every time we grab a seat at the bar. The Rose Roll is second to none, the Ramen is bomb, and my partner loves the Lemon Cilantro Roll as well. It can get really busy late night on the weekends and sushi during these times can take a long time to come out (understandably) so plan ahead, be patient and kind. Mahalo!Parking: The ground floor of the parking structure next door is free for restaurant parking! And it has EV Chargers!“
“Love Khan's. The food is amazing and the service is the best. I especially liked Sam...great service and great personality...so funny! Thanks for an enjoyable time each time we go for lunch or dinner. Happy hour is fantastic! Great ambiance!“
“Tom yum spaghetti pasta 5/5 - very unique and delicious!Carbonara pasta 4/5Green tea cake with green tea lava 4/5 the lava was very thick and not flowy.Matcha soufflé pancake 4.5/5Parking: Parking can be a challenge to find since the lot is small and cramped“
“Very good Asian inspired bowls. The pork belly bowl with rice was good and the umami gravy on top was delicious. I got delivery and the bowl was still fresh and hot. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.Update: the chicken karaage bowl wasn't that good after sitting for a while but I bet it's good when it's fresh and crisp at the restaurant“
“Between all the taco shops in the area this place is a fresh breath of air. Best of all they have 2 vegetarian protein options (tofu and plant steak). I got a bowl with plant steak and veggies over brown rice. The flavours were spot on. The wait time was minimal.“
“Delicious food and a great vibe, with big tables for board games or small tables for studying/ working. Definitely short staffed for a Friday night, though.Parking: Parking is in the back and many of the spots are reserved for the ramen restaurant next door“
“We got the vegetable ramen. The star of the show is undoubtedly the broth. Unlike some vegetarian broths that can be thin and watery, this one boasts a depth of flavor that comes from hours of simmering vegetables, mushrooms, and perhaps even a hint of seaweed. The first sip is a warm hug, rich and savory with an underlying sweetness. It's a testament to the chef's skill in coaxing out the full potential of the vegetables. The only negatives were the overly loud rock music and the extremely wasteful gas flames outside, purportedly for warning guests, even though it was a nice warm afternoon.“
“Try outside of your comfort zone and you’ll realize all the food in this place is bomb. The owners are so nice and polite, if you have questions about the menu, they provide honest feedback/suggestions. Small space, but perfect for take out so you can enjoy back at home! Serving sizes is perfect in their containers and for the price in my honest opinion.“
“I don't normally review fast food locations but I left this Waba Grill extremely happy. I enjoy ordering takeout with Waba through the app due to the convenience of having your food ready for pickup when you arrive but have noticed they often neglect the small requests. I frequent the veggie bowl but don't particularly enjoy steamed carrots and have lately been asking them to be omitted from my order. At my local Waba, they ignore it and I disappointingly open my order to see carrots present. But here, they nailed it! It may seem like something trivial to be so pleased with but it's the small things that set aside chains like this. I could have gotten lucky with my order but I like to be optimistic and think that this team cares.Either way, this Waba nailed my order. I'll have to frequent it since it's on my way home to check for consistency. As of now, I'm a happy camper.“
“We enjoyed a delightful journey through two contrasting but equally delicious buns. First up was the chocolate-filled bun. This fluffy masterpiece was a cloud-like dream, its pillowy dough yielding to reveal a warm, rich center of melty chocolate. The sweetness wasn't overwhelming, striking a perfect balance that had me savoring every bite. The chicken-filled bun offered a delightful counterpoint. Unlike some overly greasy renditions, this one boasted a light and flaky dough that gave way to a savory, well-seasoned chicken filling. The flavors were complex and balanced, with hints of ginger and scallion dancing on the tongue. The contrasting flavors and textures made them a perfect duo, ideal for sharing or indulging in both! The staff was awesome and kind.“
“We called ahead of time to make certain they would still be open at 7:30. They said yes so we came to try it out.We had the grilled daing bangus . It is a grilled milkfish with a mango salsa. It was wonderful! We also tried some sushi. They are not a sushi restaurant.“
“I like the taste of the crispy wings here, especially the spicy ones. They will be perfect for me if the batter is a little lighter. I also like the bulgogi bibimbap. It has the good balanced amount of rice, vegetables and meat. I do not care for the sweet sauce that comes with it but as long as the sriracha sauce is available I am happy.“
“Facing East Noodle & Bar isn't your average ramen joint. It's an orchestra of tastebuds, conducted by fiery spice and led by the rich melody of their savory broths. My recent visit was a revelation, a testament to their culinary artistry. The star of the show? The Spicy Deluxe Paiko Ramen. Imagine this: a chorus of perfectly cooked noodles bathed in a soul-warming broth, each note hinting at the impending heat. Then, the star tenor arrives – a luxuriously breaded chicken paiko, crisp on the outside and impossibly juicy within. As you bite in, the floodgates open. The spice hits you in waves, not a brash assault but a carefully measured crescendo. It mingles beautifully with the chicken's gentle savoriness, creating a harmony that lingers long after the last bite. But the symphony wasn't complete without the pork dumplings. These delicate morsels were little pockets of perfection, filled with juicy pork and bursting with flavor. The accompanying chile aioli was the perfect counterpoint – a cool, creamy contrast that soothed the heat and accentuated the dumpling's savory notes. It was a masterclass in balance, a delightful interplay between fire and ice.Facing East isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a place where spice becomes an art form, and every bowl is a testament to their dedication to deliciousness. If you're looking for a ramen adventure that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more, look no further than Facing East Noodle & Bar. You won't be disappointed.Big thanks to Ana the chef who made this all possible!“
“I actually like the spot except the orange chicken which was a nasty or old and we also placed an order online and decided to pay the restaurant when we got there so then they call me and say it's a big order we need a credit card over the phone and they also said, do you wanna leave a tip? Order was only like $60 I guess but should I be tipping if it's a pick up order?“
“I sat at the Sushi Bar for lunch. They have a large menu of non-sushi items that I cannot speak to. I tried a Tuna Maki Roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll and an order of ebi nigiri. The quality was much better than the typical stripmall sushi. They also had a nice selection of saki. Atmosphere gets 2 stars because of the lame muzak they had playing in the background.“
“This place is dope!! After a phenomenal dinner experience, it’s earned our favorite sushi spot in Chula Vista.Happy hour Monday through Wednesday is all day. Lucky us, we had dinner on a Wednesday night here.Immediately loved the vibes.Drinks were great. I loved the mango martini with chili. Our food was just as good. Lemon cilantro roll was the perfect amount of fresh fish, lemon and yummy goodness. The crunchy roll wasn’t bad either! I loved how fresh the shrimp tempura is. We also loved the seared tuna nigiri on the HH menu. It was super spicy and had a smoky kick. We loved it!We were most surprised at the top tier service. All the employees were kind. Everyone greeted us when we got there and when we left. Our food came out soooo fast! I couldn’t believe it. All of our rolls were ready within 5 minutes of ordering it. Insane! Shout out to our server Nika. She recommended the spicy ponzu sauce and I loved it so much. The restaurant is almost like a club. If it’s your birthday, there’s a mini show with cow bells, a happy birthday sign, lights and all.“
“I have eaten here about 5x already in the past 2 months. I am so addicted to the tempura mix entree that comes with about 4 shrimp and a mix of green beans, pumpkin, broccoli and onion rings tempura, all coated in a nicely seasoned airy and light batter, just the right sweetness sauce, miso soup and a refreshingly crunchy salad.Yesterday, I decided to go to an old time favorite nearby, ordered the exact equivalent of what I get at Sushi Namu, which takes me here to.make this well deserved 4-star review. I can unequivocally state that Sushi Namu's tempura is far superior. Just writing.about it makes me want to go again. I have been eating tempura for about 40 years now and I think I can say that theirs are some of the best I've eaten this side of the equator.Their tables are very clean each time I go and their servers are soft-spoken and respectful. That other place I went to smelled old and moldy.Good to have something this good in the South Bay and not having to go to Convoy.Typical strip mall parking woes is behind the 4-star ratingVegetarian options: I didn't pay attention to their vegetarian menu but I'm pretty sure they have sufficient options or at least ok to modify based on your request.Parking: Can get a bit crazy with Starbucks drive thru traffic on one end and Popeyes drive thru traffic on the other in a small strip small.“
“The fries are so delicious! You can’t go wrong with any of them but the bulgogi fries, Hawaiian chicken chipotle, and the poke fries are to die for! The fries are nice and crispy and hold up really well through the sauce, which they don’t skimp out on! Build your own boba is so easy and they have a great amount of teas, slushes, and toppings. The staff is hands down the best part! They’re always super friendly and helpful! Can’t rave enough about this place!“
“The food is freshly prepared and not like typical Filipino cantinas where you point at the food, which has been out for awhile. Their bowls have the right amount of rice, meat and veggies. Well balanced meal and not greasy. Highly recommended for a modern feel of traditional Filipino food. We need to make Filipino food match the modern times. So happy too that it's near my home and not all the way in Clairemont or Mira Mesa.Parking: No problem with parking even during a rainy day.“
“We ordered the duck noodle soup with egg noodle for delivery at 2am. It hit the spot for sure. We ordered through yelp and the delivery person had us come out to meet her at her car on the street, so we weren't a huge fan of that, but the deliver option even half an hour before they closed was greatly appreciated.“
“Roldan was amazing! He provided outstanding customer service, and I was so pleased with the way that he took care of us. He kept checking in on us to make sure that everything went well and I will definitely come back because of him. Roldan was so helpful and friendly. This is definitely one of our go to spots on special occasions!“
“The food was very great and very flavorful in comparison to a KBBQ place. The server we had was super nice and eligible about any questions that we had he was very great at attending us a little there were periods where no one would come to check on us at all. Overall it was very good but a little pricey. I would recommend this place.Parking: Location is right by Trader Joe’s so parking situation can be tricky has many people are shopping at Trader Joe’s“
“Just had a quick meals with my boss. OMG, I didn't expect too much but I was very surprised and overwhelmed by the quality of the dishes and taste. By the way, great services comes in no charge. Must visit place if uou are in San Diego.“
“This is a nice little pho and sushi restaurant tucked away at 6th after the freeway on ramp. Sushi and pho are the perfect SoCal combo. I ordered a large bowl of the House special pho (pho dac biet), a small hot sake, and a rainbow roll.Everything was delicious and I was stuffed. The sushi was skillfully and quickly prepared and the deluxe pho had great soup with the right saltiness. On top of that the place is spacious with incredibly high ceilings, great big TVs and cool lights.I'll be back again and I'm sure the spot may be perfect for karaoke, a games night, or even watching sports games or Ru Paul's Drag Race.“
“Nice sushi place that I've never noticed before! This place is close to my house and my roommate said she really enjoyed it so we decided to stop here quick before Christmas shopping. The service was pretty quick and it wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday night. We put in our order quick of the gyoza and Katsu bowl and they were out to us in less than 5 minutes. Both were Very tasty and hot!Gyoza were nice and savory with the sauce being just salty enough but not too much. The chicken katsu was very good, well breaded, moist, and the sauce was very, very delicious. She asked for extra to pour over her bowl to get down to the rice too.I've gotten the smokey tonkotsu ramen bowl and it's alright. The soup base of it seems a little off from typical tonkotsu ramens I have had. The chanshu seems to be cooked on a grill but I didn't really enjoy it. The texture wasn't the greatest. I'll probably stick to the katsu next time!Parking: big parking lot“
“Great food, I need to try more dishes at this place.Parking: Inside the mall dining ir take out, so parking is plenty.Kid-friendliness: Being in the mall, there are places for kids to enjoy at.Wheelchair accessibility: A whole lot of space and ramps for wheelchair access. Button for disabled easy open access also.“
“We came here for New Years Eve and had an amazing time! This is definitely my new favorite spot to go out in San Diego! Loved how there wasn't a huge line to get in or at the bar to order drinks. There were a lot of people but it wasn't super packed/cramped so there was actually space for you to move around/not always be bumping into someone. METE plays the best music out of every bar I've been to in both PB or Gaslamp. I'm not a huge fan of hearing pop/country/ when I'm out so highly recommend coming here if you love rap!“
“Amazing staff. Nice people make the experience pleasant. The food is decent. I had one roll that was very rice-heavy, and one roll with pieces that were way too big, so it was a gigantic mess to eat. They do give you a lot of ginger and Wasabi.Prices are average to high. They have "half price" rolls, but the menu prices are so high on those that what you get is exactly what you pay for. There's no deal. Also you pay more if you order to go. And the prices are way higher than what Google maps shows, it would be nice if they would update that.I think they should just be honest and straightforward with pricing and not try to fake like they are doing you a favor. They aren't.This place is definitely not bad but it's not a place I would make a special trip for.Parking: It's tough if you come at dinner time and the lot is fullKid-friendliness: Family friendly, nice patioWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“My visit to Aaharn was a positive experience. Although I asked for a moderate 5/10 spice level, the food turned out spicier than expected. The curries, which come with rice, were quite tasty overall. The service was excellent, with the staff ensuring our comfort. The atmosphere was pleasant, offering a quiet and conducive environment for hanging out and conversation. It's worth noting that the entrance is on the side, through the tap room, and the restrooms are located one floor below, accessible via stairs.“
“February, 2024 Update: We decided to eat at Bonchon instead of having it delivered this time and had a fantastic experience. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic as always. Tonight we tried the Yangnyeom sauce along with the Spicy strips. We also shared Strawberry Soju between us which was absolutely delicious. We ordered delivery from Bonchon tonight and it was heavenly. The chicken was fresh, moist, crunchy and delicious. Both the soy garlic and spicy had plenty of sauce on them. The spicy is not super hot but leaves a nice warm feeling in your mouth after eating them. If you like a little more spice you can dip in a sriracha sauce. The onion rings are always amazing from this location. Crunchy and delicious - they go well with the strips. FYI, chicken typically also comes with a side of either cole slaw or pickled radish. We don’t care for either of those options so didn’t include the side.“
“We were in San Diego this weekend visiting friends and family for Easter and decided to have dinner at PF Changs. What a great decision, we were lucky enough to be seated in Bell’s section and we were impressed by her professionalism and attention to detail from the moment we were seated until we left. The food was fresh and hot, ambience was great we will definitely return next time we are in town.“
“Honestly the ambiance made this place! Front area looks like you're in a forest, back looks like a club in Shibuya! Food quality is good though $ but it's Little Italy so it's expected. The pork belly honestly was the best food item on the menu and the drinks pack a kick!“
“First off, I just want to say that the staff was very nice and that alone made me more hopeful for the food. I ordered the chow mein, orange chicken, and the drunken noodles, and wow all of them were delicious. The chow mein was absolutely packed with flavor and if it's too much for you, you can mix it with rice and the flavors will spread all throughout the rice. The drunken noodles were perfectly cooked and once again the flavors were on point making you want more. Finally, the orange chicken was my favorite. The sauce was perfect and the vegetables were coated in the orange sauce making me finish my vegetables (crazy for me). Overall, I definitely need to come back to try the other dishes on the menu and it seems to be sooner than later. If you're looking for some good reasonably priced thai food this will become your go to spot in lemon grove.Parking: Lots of parking nearby so nothing to worry about.Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility throughout that mini plaza.“
