“A small hidden gem!!! We were there just last Friday. The service (as always) was wonderful, the food scrumptious and though last Friday we were sat immediately (we just happened to beat the crowd). We have had to wait a few times; and I assure everyone it is worth the wait!“

“This is really a very small restaurant that specializes in Thai food. There were not many customers when we visited that night, so the environment was quite quiet. Since I was very hungry after work, I ordered more dishes. I personally liked their crab fried rice. It was not too salty or inexplicably sweet, but the Tom Yum Goong noodle soup was of a lower standard and didn't taste like Tom Yum soup at all. What’s a little surprising is that the quality of the desserts they serve is actually very good. Sticky Rice Mango is my favorite dessert. Although the mango is not sweet enough, I am still willing to give it high marks. The fried banana with coconut ice cream just won my wife's appreciation.“

“Best Brunch spot that I came across! Most restaurants like this (breakfast joints) tend to order from premade (from food service like Sysco or shamrock, you see their trucks everywhere) distribution. Hot and Tot makes everything in-house. From their daily soups to their house salsa, it’s all done in-house with love and passion. It’s an institution that’s been around since early 60’s. It’s got nostalgia of past (with decor and comfort food) but they keep it clean and tidy. If you are lucky enough to come few times, u realize it’s really a “regular’s” place. Most customers are true regulars and it’s easy to see why. They are super busy on weekends, but kitchen works surprisingly fast. Spinach omelette is delicious as do pancakes and waffles. And it’s easy to see why some people make point of coming on Fridays for clam chowder 😋
Parking: Do not miss the parking entrance on PCH. If u miss the entrance, it’s a big loop to come back.“

“A delicious made from scratch falafel in a great sandwich. Friendly staff. Since my first review I have returned and tried their Chicken and Cheese sandwich. Even better then the falafel sandwich! It is a chicken salad sandwich with lots of yummy chicken salad and Swiss cheese. I had their regular French fries 🍟 Very tasty. Again the staff was very friendly and helpful. Did I mention the tasty chicken?😋😋“

“Cara Mia catered my mother-in-law's memorial service beautifully and on quite short notice. The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. They went above and beyond to help make this difficult day easier and we were blown away not only by their compassion, but the quality of their baked goods! The memorial guests devoured everything and many of them remarked to us how great the food was :) I can't recommend Cara Mia enough and hope to visit again under happier circumstances. Thank you!!!!“

“The wings were perfectly cooked and they have lots of variety flavors. Perfectly crispy on the outside, nicely seasoned, and super tasty wings. I tried a lots of flavors and everything was fantastic. They were both incredible. The sauces were rich and coated every wing perfectly. Can't wait to come back and try other flavors.“

“I’ve been on the hunt for good Chinese food in the South Bay, and honestly, it’s been tough finding anything that compares to what you can get in the 626. That said, this spot is definitely one of the better Chinese places I’ve found out here.
It’s a Taiwanese/Chinese fusion restaurant—which sounds a little odd, but somehow it works.
We ordered the spicy wontons ($13), filet mignon cubes (around $24), garlic string beans ($15), and a lemon iced tea ($6).
I judge all spicy wontons against SinBala in Arcadia, and while these weren’t bad (you get about 7–8 pieces), the sauce was missing that garlicky kick I was craving. The garlic string beans were excellent—super flavorful and garlicky, kind of like Din Tai Fung’s, but with a bigger portion. The filet mignon cubes were also pretty good: tender beef in a tasty black pepper sauce with plenty of bell peppers and onions. Would definitely order that again.
What threw me off, though, was the $2 charge for a bowl of rice. I’ve never had to pay for rice separately at a Chinese restaurant, so that was a bit of a shock.
The biggest disappointment was the lemon iced tea—the most watered-down tea I’ve ever had. No sweetness, barely any tea flavor, and for $6?
Despite that, the food itself was solid, and I’d come back—especially to try their lunch specials, which seem like a better value overall.“

“I have been enjoying meals at Okane Umi since 2016. They have always been excellent in every category of service. The restaurant has had its share of ups and downs but I am happy with how strongly Okane Umi has powered up its menu and added some wonderfully flavorful genuine Japanese dishes. Im pleased they have reinforced their sushi, sashimi, chirashi offerings - I love this restaurant.“

“The best sushi I had in my entire life.
The baked Salmon Roll is absolutely delicious ?.
After about 10 minutes of waiting this wonder was in front of me ready to be my late lunch (3 PM ish)
Wonderful service as well.
Next time (maybe today) I'll try the Tiger Roll.
Thank you!“

“A favorite breakfast/brunch spot off CA-1. Pancakes, omelettes... Can't really go wrong. It can get very busy on weekends, so plan accordingly. Parking lot is a little small towards the back and is shared with other businesses. There are street parking options. Food pricing is kind of what you could expect nowadays, but portions are good.“

“My first time here because I just so happened to be in the area. I had the brisket & tendon phó. It was delicious. It had so much tendon and I loved it. Great flavor and freshness. I read some of the reviews that were negative. My experience was nothing but positive. I like to eat at mom and pop restaurants. The service was polite and attentive. Give this establishment a try. I think you’ll find it a tasty and positive experience.“

“Good ramen with several options that are not found in many places. Good taste and prices, friendly servers, sometimes parking can be limited, opened until late on Fridays. Reminds me of some of the ramen shops when I was living in Japan. A must try if you’re in LA South Bay area.“
