“It’s pretty easy to see why this place has been in business for so long I obviously love coming to new places and trying new things, but today was a special treat rare is the occasion that I get to try bread right from the bakery that made it I stopped in at Pollys by accident but the first thing I noticed for the delicious pies and the clientele because not only is it a bakery but it’s a restaurant! they keep their menu pretty straight to the point but the flavor of the bread and the quality and the texture is just amazing I had to try the Ryebread with some of their home churn butter it reminded me of the stuff I used to see on TV when people actually made their butter… It was delicious the smooth creamy butter mixed in with the flavor of the Ryebread made the 599 a pansy almost like I was ripping them off the staff was very friendly and the store was very clean this looks like a wonderful place for an early dinner or an incredible breakfast but the next review is gonna be about the chocolate cream pie because I imagine that something that should be smoked in a pipe it’s so good!“

The meal began with an Amuse Bouche trio: a delicate prawn cracker topped with sweet Dungeness crab, a green leaf with another seafood salad that was to be eaten like a mini street taco, and balanced with the brightness and light crunch of pickled turnip. A seemingly simple couple of bites, but one that foreshadowed the precision and thoughtfulness of the courses to follow. To cleanse the palate, a mint tea infused with palo santo was served—a meditative interlude that was both refreshing and aromatic, setting the stage for the evening’s journey. The first official course, Crème Caviar, featured Russian Sturgeon Heritage Caviar and chive, a chilled preparation that was rich yet elegantly restrained. “We’re huge fans of Porto’s, and visiting the Buena Park location is always a must whenever we’re on the West Coast. While we often order online from them, there’s something extra special about experiencing it in person. No matter how many times we’ve been, it never gets old—it’s always a treat.

It can definitely get busy, with lines often stretching outside the door, but the staff has the process down to a science. Every visit we've made between 10 a.m. and noon, we've been lucky—only about a 5-minute wait before placing our order. They move fast, stay organized, and somehow still manage to be friendly and attentive the entire time.

When dining in, they hand you a pager to place on your table, and everything—drinks and food—gets brought right to you. They even come around to clear the tables when you're done, which makes the experience feel that much more relaxed and enjoyable.

This time around we had the Media Noche sandwich, Lechon platter, and plantain chips, plus a good selection of pastries—cheese rolls, guava and cheese strudels, and our personal favorite, the besitos. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The Media Noche was packed with perfectly balanced, melty goodness, the lechon was tender and well-seasoned, and the plantain chips were crispy and addictive.

To drink, we ordered an iced vanilla oat latte and an iced Americano—both of which paired perfectly with our meal and pastries.

If you’re anywhere near Buena Park, Porto’s is worth the detour. The food is consistently excellent, the service is quick and efficient, and there’s something for everyone on the menu. Parking: This is Huntington Beach .. parking can be difficult. We got lucky with a spot right in front of the restaurant. It was metered parking with the first 2 hours being free. I noticed there was also other street metered parking across the way.

Ambiance/Environment: Very warm and welcoming. It’s very spacious with plenty of indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. Great for large groups.

Service: Shout out to our server Abril! She was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the menu, refilled our waters when needed, and checked on us while eating.

Food & Drinks:

1) Burning Titan - This was recommended to us since this was their “must try” entrees. I had the choice of substituting the meat and noodles, but I decided to leave everything as is. This only came in one size, and I’d consider it a large bowl. They were very generous with the brisket beef and amount of ramen. The soup was definitely spicy and flavorful.

2) Kung Pao Chicken - My partner wanted a rice dish. I tried his dish, and this is definitely better than Panda Express! It wasn’t too spicy though, nor was it salty. There wasn’t as many peanuts as we thought. There was a good amount of chicken to rice ratio.

3) Crispy Wonton - I like their twist on the wontons because not only did it have cream cheese, but it also had avocado! The wonton was crispppyyy with a beautiful brown color. Though, I wish it had more filling of cream cheese and avocado. Don’t forget to dip it in the sweet sauce!

4) Thai Tea with boba - This wasn’t too sweet. The boba was decently chewy. The tea had a weird aftertaste, so I think they could work on this item.

5) Vietnamese Ice Coffee - I’m a crackhead for caffeine, so of course I ordered a Viet coffee in the evening. You know it’s concentrated when they don’t fill the cup up all the way. This is what I call a Viet coffee!

Pricing: I’d say it’s definitely worth its price. We visited while they were still offering their deals. Can’t deny a bowl of pho starting at $9.99. Especially in this inflation, that’s a steal.“

In my opinion what makes this spot good is the type of coffee you get. Im no coffee expert but the taste you get is what I call "classic". That straight up coffee taste you know and love. Everywhere else I go tend to favor the more funky natural process coffees. I love a good funky espresso. But to find this flavor profile in a coffee shop around here, or in LA in general is pretty uncommon.
