50 Best Vegan Restaurants near Maywood

“Wow! So glad we found this wonderful and authentic Mexican restaurant right by my hubby's work place while traveling to southern California so we do not have to fight through the 35 minutes driving 5 miles in downtown LA traffic! 😅

Their chip & salsa, first of all, was simply amazing and different! We tried their signature dish Pollo con Rajas Con Crema and the Steak Fajitas and they were beautifully plated and so tasty! You could tell the dishes are of great ingredients with simple seasoning to not take away from the freshness.

They then recommended Guayabate with Ice Cream for dessert plus sharing with us how this is a very authentic dessert from Mexico but as eaten with shaved ice. They modified now with French Vanilla Ice cream as the base and the fusion culinary creation is just the best! 😋

It was combined with the Mexican Coffee - Cafe de Olla which is a little bit sweeten but with a very strong and well balanced taste that's very different than your regular American standard coffee!

We enjoy everything we had here including our server who is very knowledgeable and hospitable. When we visit LA next time, we will definitely try to come again!“

“An exceptional place. We had breakfast, a typical salvi breakfast plate,huevos rancheros, freshly made tortillas, cafe de holla, and Jamaica, all perfectly well made. Their service was when beyond asked for fries 🍟 for us son, even though it was not in the menu they made us fries.

“Stopped in for lunch today after seeing a post on Instagram. It’s nice, clean and right on the corner in the shopping center. It looked like the parking lot was packed but there was plenty of parking upon further review. The waitress was so nice and sweet. (I hate that I didn’t ask her name) I got the Loco Moco and the Beignets. Both were REALLY GOOD. She actually didn’t charge me for the dessert because it didn’t come out the way they liked……. It was GOOD to me!! I am not a fan of creamy, mayonnaise, ranch, béchamel, hollandaise, type of sauce so I chose the safe route this time. It was delicious. Very filling and full of flavor. “Got a pumpkin pie puff pastry, a savory sausage pie and the blueberry cinnamon bun. So good!!! The location was super cute as well. The frosting on the cinnamon bun was amazing. Good place to stop if you’re heading up the 5 freeway and need a treat😄“

“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“I had such a great experience here! Danny, the manager, welcomed me right away and even set me up with a perfect corner table—which made the whole meal feel extra relaxed. “The little plates are yummy. I love the pita bread that came with the hummus (Salatim plate). The other plates were good also. I loved the bread pudding (I think it's better than the best cake). What I like the most about Bacari, besides the beautiful ambiance, is the friendliest staff.“

“Wow! Went here for the first time this morning and I was not disappointed! The bagels themselves are delicious. Crisp on the outside, soft in the inside. I got the whitefish salad bagel (closed) and it was so delicious and packed!!! It’s definitely worth the price that’s for sure. Fair pricing overall. Lots of street parking but not very many actual seating so just be wary. Would 100% come back“

On to the food - Gourmet Carribean is a must try! the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, chick peas and the Friday special, Jerk Salmon. Everything I've tried is delicious. All amazing, high quality, and flavorful. We will be back for more. I highly recommend them for catering, meal prep, or even a day when you just want to eat oit but still feel healthy. We did their delivery service before and they packaged the food so neatly and it was still flavorful and high quality. They vacuum seal the food so no spillage. We will order when we go traveling since were alkaline vegan and its hard to find restaurants that cater to our diet. But we can always trust Nkwagala.“

“Got the Giulio sandwich. The small was still pretty big and decent price. The meats were fresh and the bread was soft. The staff was really nice.

The food can take awhile to make given it's so busy during the lunch rush. The market itself is nice for getting many Italian items like olive oil, fresh pasta and tinned fish.

The outdoor seating is nice but also next to a busy street so it can get loud.“

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“
