I was going to order the ahi tuna bowl anyway, so my bountiful and delicious bowl was free. I also had points because I am a rewards member. We had a free appetizer of calamari. The food was almost too beautiful to eat and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. One of our guests said it was the best spaghetti he had ever had! The mushroom risotto was perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass and WOW! The salmon was also amazing. The other two guests had roasted chicken and hangar steak… I didn’t get to try them but they looked amazing and everyone cleaned their plate even though we were full lol! We will absolutely be back. “What a find! On our way to international SFO flight, stopped in San Mateo and were delighted by the food, ambience and especially the hosts at La Ronda. The small touches like the crisp tablecloths and napkins, the warm welcome ... and then there's the food. Warm bread served with tasty butter and jalapeno sauce followed by the calamari and lomo saltado. Topped off by arroz con leche. What a beautiful late lunch. Thank you La Ronda for a fun food experience. We will make it a point to return.“

“Walked in not expecting much but was greeted lovingly by a sweet family running shop by themselves. They seemed delighted that we were eating In and the small homey setting really felt like they inviting us to sit at their table. The spam masubi was incredible, served fresh, with a sweet sauce, and a little touch of pork sung in there made all the difference. I got the wagyu beef with egg meal. It also came with that signature sauce and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. As we left, packing up the leftovers off the heaping plates of food, the father ran out to give us some extra sauce and make sure we didn’t leave without knowing how much we were appreciated. The incredible food and the family’s hospitality truly made it feel like I was eating a home cooked meal with my grandparents and I would love to come back and support them more!“

“We came early evening and enjoyed our food. I went with tofu and veggies, and my friend got steak and chicken. We also got a radish roll and a Philly roll. The food was very enjoyable, though the bite of steak I took from my friend's plate felt a little dry. As we kept eating, they turned away a few people, and we leaned they had run out of sushi rice when we asked to order a couple of rolls to take home. This was surprising because they would still be open for several hours. We ran out of tea and had to wait longer than expected to get someone's attention to pay our bill. They were quite friendly, and I would consider going back if I was craving a hearty dose of dietary fiber again as I really did enjoy my own plate.“

“Defintely Poke'd Out after the lunch. Ordering method is broken down nicely and listed down well in the menu. It goes like Base + Poke + Mix-in + Sauce + Add-ons. I have chosen the medium sized bowl where I got 4 scoops of poke instead of mentioned 3, all the sizes get additional scoop as complementary. Chose couple of miso shrimp and spicy crab(it was spicy indeed) scoops. Tofu medley was not that great, tough to satisfy vegetarians or vegans. I felt the quantity was overwhelming for one person, small would be more than enough. Priced around $20 for the medium, it's on the expensive side, but the diverse selections make it recommendable. Note that it’s only a to-go restaurant.“

Even though I reviewed Roja in September of 2024, I felt compelled to share my thoughts again because this restaurant is consistently improving and upgrading in every aspect. They truly seem dedicated to providing the best for their customers, and I can't help but appreciate their efforts!

On of the aspects I truly love about Roja is their commitment to seasonal menu changes. It keeps the dining experience fresh and exciting! Beef Wellington is on the menu now and I must say it was the highlight of my dining experience! It was cooked to perfection; the tenderloin within was a gorgeous, rosy pink medium -rare and incredibly tender. The outer layer was a triumph of texture: a crisp golden brown, and wonderfully flaky puff pastry crust. The balance of flavors and expert preparation were simply outstanding. It seemed like everyone around me was ordering it, which speaks volumes about its popularity! Immediately after I ordered, our waiter came over and expertly suggested wonderful wine pairings, and it's amazing how much the restaurant's wine list has grown since it opened in 2024.

I highly recommend this restaurant; it's an amazing all-around dining experience thanks to the excellent food, great wine selection, pleasant ambiance, and top-notch service. I also highly recommend making reservations as the tables fill up quickly!
