“The Corner Bar is an amazing addition to Mill Valley. Their food is outstanding and so is their service. I love how they constantly add new and innovative items to their menu. Jason and his entire staff know how to take care of their guests and make everyone feel welcome. Weekends after dinner are a happening scene. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.”

“Came here not expecting much. The pizza was really good. Not true Neapolitan style, but crunchy and well made. Sauce was tasty and the pizza was well covered in toppings.
The beer selection was also great.

My husband ordered their special hot stone pot with chicken mango. 5 star presentation and so yummy. I had the Hemingway Benny. Again, presentation and taste were 5 star! Portions were more than generous. Highly recommend!”

“Amazing donuts. Their specialty donuts are absolutely delicious. We tried the guava donuts and regretted not getting more since we live an hour away. They had alot of different options to choose from and on top of that they have the classics. The store is clean with indoor sitting. Free parking on site.”

“While not an expert I grew up in Detroit eating gyros as often as hamburgers. Hands down the best gyro I have had in ages. Warm soft pita, crisp fresh veggies, great house made sauce and really tasty gyro meat. And always friendly service from the owner. Small seating area so may need to plan to do take out versus eat in.”

However, I ordered delicious food and enjoyed it when I got home.
I was grateful that the friendly staff told me about nearby parks where I could eat and explained things well.

I also like their food and pastry options — fresh and a nice complement to the drinks. It feels like a step above typical coffee chains without being pretentious.
Overall, a reliable place for good coffee, relaxed vibes, and quality service. Definitely recommend if you enjoy well-made coffee.”

“I get dozens of bagels from New York Bagels in Strawberry Village every Saturday with my kids; it’s become our weekend ritual. The bagels are fresh, chewy, and come in tons of flavors. We love the friendly, speedy service and the option to buy by the dozen. A top spot for bagel lovers in the area!”

“I do food delivery on the side. On Sunday night, I ordered a pizza for myself from this spot. The guy probably didn’t realize it was my order. :) He asked if I was hungry and hooked me up with two extra slices. Super nice of him. The pizza was great. I’d definitely recommend this place.”

“The red curry was Amazing! I got the curry with vegetables and tofu. It had just enough spice to enhance the flavors instead of overpowering them- not too spicy and very delicious. My friend and I both loved our dishes. I’m curious about the other dishes but I’d honestly go back to get the exact same one again because it was so good. I’ve thought of it several times since I’ve eaten there, which means it was quite literally a memorable experience! I’m definitely coming back and recommending to more friends! There is indoor and outdoor seating- we chose to sit outside because it was a nice sunny day.”

The only downer is that the guy at the counter is hard to understand, which happens, but the look of disappointment he gave to anyone who didn't tip was not cool. I never tip the first time I go there. After the first time, if it's eat in, I tip, but carryout is a no.”

Shelter Bay Cafe is one of those rare Mill Valley spots where the food is good and the prices still make sense — especially for breakfast and coffee.

The breakfast menu is the real standout. You can get:

Egg, bacon & toast for $9

Eggs, bacon & hash browns for $11

English muffin breakfast sandwich for $8

Those are real, filling breakfasts at prices that feel almost nostalgic. Even the more dressed-up items stay reasonable — avocado toast at $14, breakfast sandwiches mostly in the $12–$15 range, and a solid breakfast burrito for $14. No “artisan surcharge,” no nonsense.

The coffee is good and sensibly priced — refreshingly not one of those places where the coffee costs more than the food. Lunch keeps the same fair-value approach, with sandwiches generally $14–$16 and an $8 grilled cheese that actually feels like a deal.

Add friendly owners, relaxed outdoor seating by the bay, and a genuinely local, unpretentious vibe, and this place becomes a dependable go-to. Not hypey, not precious — just good food, fair prices, and a place you’ll happily come back to.”

They offer more options and everything I've ordered here is delicious. Will continue to come here. Their wine and sake selection is much better as well.”

“This food is good. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good for some reason but I’m impressed. We had the veggie egg rolls (2 1/2), there was a funny spice added in there that wasn’t familiar nor was it necessary. Green onion pancakes (4.5) Long donut (4/5) it was so fresh, hot and crispy. Sweet chili wings (4), got happy when I seen the jalapeños but there was no kick at all, they were like a basic teriyaki. General tso chicken (4) no kick to them like normal general. Beef & broc (4) shrimp fried rice (4.5). The lady in front gets a little flustered and I thought she had an attitude with me but once the food came out, she gave us a free soda each and a free Long Donut. Def would return!”
