“We had one of the best experiences last night. Tim our waiter was one of the best we have had. He was able to find Sprite Zero for my wife's drink. He also delivered a warm chocolate chip cookie with a small scoop of ice cream for my wife even though it wasn't in the menu. His ability to go above the call of duty and not just say no I can't get that for you was so amazing it had to make sure it is recognized. Exceptional service needs to be acknowledge and rewarded. “We had an absolutely lovely experience here! Came for my boyfriend’s birthday, everyone was friendly and attentive. Fantastic high end ambience. The food was almost too beautiful to eat and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. One of our guests said it was the best spaghetti he had ever had! The mushroom risotto was perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass and WOW! The salmon was also amazing. The other two guests had roasted chicken and hangar steak… I didn’t get to try them but they looked amazing and everyone cleaned their plate even though we were full lol! We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!! 5 stars ⭐️“

“I'm a sucker for old-fashioned diners, the ones that seem stuck in time, stubbornly holding on to nostalgia when it was king in its glory days, back before chain restaurants and cookie-cutter decor and brands.

They hold a special allure when you're traveling down the byways where they still thrive, but they're especially precious when you find them in urban areas where they compete with fast-food conglomerates.

So I don't take places like Gunter's for granted, an old establishment (South San Francisco) in the midst of urban blandness of homogeneity. They're still places where old men gather swapping tall tales and spar politics over Farmer Brothers coffee brand to while their time away.

This genre seems to be a fleeting gem of Americana as I see many of them boarded up and closed down even along the blue highways. So in your travels, take a moment to patronize these places before too many of them disappear as victims of people's preference for national brands and indifference.“

“Not many restaurants open at 7 am, so I just chose Neal's. First time I have been asked if I wanted my corned beef hash and hash browns crispy. Usually I would mention it when ordering.

I prefer the corned beef beef bits a little bigger, but at least it didn't have a disproportionate amount of potatoes. The corned beef hash and the hash browns came very crispy, potato chip crispy. 😋

“We come to this restaurant regularly and it never disappoints. We were there again for Thanksgiving with a group of friends, and it was perfect as always. They offered their regular menu along with a Thanksgiving special. The turkey was outstanding: perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly moist.
Everything here is consistently delicious, with a great range of options, and the prices remain very reasonable (which has become rare these days!). The food, the atmosphere, the service and the reliability keep us coming back. Highly recommend!“

“We went here for restaurant week and while I wasn’t expecting much, I was underwhelmed by some of the dishes like the salad and the focaccia (with butter). I got the Wagyu Steak which was cooked well, and my favorite was the Chocolate Pot D’Creme. No qualms with the service, in fact the staff were friendly, and pace was ok. Overall it was just ok.

“As usual (I am a decades-long customer), the food quality and service from the waitstaff were excellent. There were a few glitches on this visit, however: I checked in with the hostess; but apparently Open Table didn't get the message. Also, I checked with both the hostess and my waiter to ensure that I would receive my BJ's Loyalty Points, and that didn't happen (I am owed 53 points...checking with my dining companion RN for a copy of her receipt). The lighting in the dining room was very oddly dark...I wonder what happened?“

I opted for takeout and ordered a Cafe Mocha and the spinach mushroom sandwich, both of which were delicious and fresh. The self-checkout system was incredibly convenient, making the ordering process seamless. The indoor seating area is comfortable, with a great ambiance for both quick stops and longer visits. If you have time, the walk around the bay just outside is absolutely stunning, offering a peaceful escape with beautiful views. Breakfast portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the staff? Exceptionally friendly and efficient. It’s rare to find a quiet spot like this where you can truly unwind while enjoying good food and great service.

Afterward, I took a leisurely stroll along the nearby path, passing vibrant yellow night primrose, lush gardens, and spotting plenty of birds along the way. It was truly relaxing—magical, even. This place has quickly become one of my new favorite hidden gems.“

“The restaurant is filled with festive spirits for the upcoming holidays! Nice decorations with tall glass windows for all the lights to shine through. Warm and cozy place. The waitress was so lovely and energetic even though it’s already midday.

The food was good. Only one small thing: the poached eggs of Egg Benedicts wasn’t poached enough. It was almost like a boiled eggs. Should be runnier. Otherwise, everything was good.“

“Best fresh food you can find on campus. So excited that they’re open again. Various options to choose from the salad bar, grill and the hot food options. They change every day! Some of my favorites are the Philly cheesesteak, the spicy chicken fritter sandwich, the baked chicken legs, lasagna and chicken florentine. This is definitely the only place I eat. Restaurant is clean, the cook gives generous portions and the staff are so kind.“

“Classic Diner / Cafeteria old school feel. New owners are very nice and engaging with the customers. Complete opposite of the old owners who were indeed grumpy and three times in a row got my orders wrong so I had stopped going there. Plus all the food had a similar flavor that was off-putting. The noodle soups have always been pretty good, but that one time the old owner gave Beef Udon instead of the Veggie I ordered was the last straw. (The beef was awful) Speaking with the new owner I can tell that they want to elevate the food and are indeed doing so. I'm back to being a regular.
