“After almost 2 years returned to the Leger for a date night with my wife. Now, the new owners and the Management and Chef are what this town has needed to revive this treasure of a hotel and restaurant. The chef is a culinary dreamer and achiever who seems to be on the path of culinary enlightenment at the Hotel. All courses were layered with a passion and love for food that the Leger has never seen before. I loved the old chefs but they were armature at best of home BBQ kings. Johnathan is a Chef that has the gift that 99% of chefs wish they had. I recommend setting a reservation for a private dinner for 2 and let them take the wheel to create an experience, not just some dinner. Last night was a full circle moment that could have gone horribly wrong, but, not one thing can be complained about nor changed. A perfect evening and there will be more to come.“

Not only did they move our table to a better location for small talk after a request but accommodated us in every way . The food was absolutely to die for. The staff were attentive and answered all questions! The wine and craft beers weres also amazing! Highly recommend! “This is our biweekly spot. Just about every time we go to town this is our favorite place. The ladies know us on the spot and are always so nice. Mom always orders the Turkey with extra cranberry. Dad likes to switch it up depending on the time we go. Never had anything bad.“

“I absolutely loooved this place! I went here with my mom and sister and our 2 kids, & it was such a great experience. The servers were extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. Every entree comes with the polenta, salad & soup, all of which were great. We had the bruschetta to start with and it was just delicious. My entree was a special, I can’t remember the name but it was a tomato pasta with capers and basil and salmon. I usually don’t get salmon at restaurants because it’s always over cooked or bland and this salmon was the best I’ve had! I thoroughly enjoyed this place and so did my family, we will definitely be back!“

“The food is really good, especially the super burrito, tacos, and super tacos, though I have heard good things about their quesadilla and taco salad. I personally love getting their shrimp super burrito, with no rice, extra sour cream, and a horchata on the side. They, in my opinion, have the best horchata I have ever tasted.“

“This strings is simply the place to go, not a rushed experience, not alot of noise, very eloquent with very good hospitality service! The food was amazing, the soup and breadsticks so tasty. The salad was on point! I had the lasagna and boy was it tasty…the red sauce was really good, we had a big group with us celebrating a birthday party and the waitress did an amazing job. This is the place to spend your time & your money! I will definitely be back someday, sometime. Thank you for the great experience!“

“I have been all over New England and around California in search of the best clam chowder. I have finally found it in our little gem spot in Sutter Creek, Hotel Sutter. The clams were fresh and perfect texture. Not a fishy taste at all. The nice chunky potatoes were perfectly cooked and perfectly porpotioned! Definitely a MUST try before the season is over.“

“Had eggs benedict with side of fruit. The eggs were beautiful and runny on the inside like they’re meant to be. Took a minute for our order to be taken, but that’s fine. Always love the views, coffee is good and they offer for more coffee. Don’t have any complaints and I’ve been here several times over the years.“

I'm so glad I came back to give this course another chance. The course is once again being very well maintained, the fairways and greens are absolutely awesome! My boss and I will be back on a more regular basis as this course is absolutely beautiful!!! The only area of concern would be a lot of the cart paths are extremely rough and could use some attention. Overall, this was an absolutely great course, especially if you're tired of all the flat land courses in the valley.

POST FROM 2023:
It has been a while since I played this course and man has it not been well maintained. The greens are absolutely awful with dead patches on about half of them. So much so that you can't get a read on your put due to the drops and rises. I spoke to the young lady in the pro shop afterwards about it and didn't get any an apology for the condition of the course. This was once one of my favorite courses as it's 6 miles from my house but, I won't be back any time soon since there are so many other courses in the area that ar well maintained and have better pricing. I wouldn't mind paying their price if the course was kept the way it ahould be. I had invited 3 colleagues to play and spent most of the apologizing. Thoroughly disappointed.“

If you have an oven get a pizza from rays take and bake their $20 for a family size and tasty.“
