Happy to see large parties, couples on a date (seemingly) and then a family came in with a small toddler, the waitress doesn’t skip a beat and brought out a night chair for the little (whom happily ate everything the parents fed her. What I like most about Golden Tea Shop: variety of tea (they have four different Oolongs!), strength of tea flavor, and value (probably best bang for your buck in Oakland). Personal drink rotation includes the Roasted Black Milk Tea, Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, Jinxuan Oolong Milk Tea, and Thai Milk Tea - all great whether iced or hot. Their fruit teas are also a refreshing choice for summertime (personal fave is Honeydew).Recommendations: Their 50% sugar level, to me, provides the tough-to-find optimal sweetness for those who don't like their milk tea too sweet. While I do enjoy i-Tea as well, I find that their 30% sugar level is still indulgently sweet. Would also recommend at least 75% ice for iced drinks - 50% tends to lead to a lukewarm/cold temp that is not as enjoyable. Finally, would suggest ordering online ahead of time (I use TPass) - drinks can take a while if there's a rush of orders.“

Menu was easy to see and they had a lot of drink and snack options. Was promptly greeted by a friendly employee. Ordered two milk tea drinks - mango and honey dew with boba. “Really liked both the tea and snacks. Having tried almost 100 bubble tea places in the Bay area this is the first we've found that has both top tier snacks and top tier tea. Only complaint I have is sometimes they aren't open at 11 or even 12 on Saturdays. So the schedule is just kinda when they are open. My husband had never been and he ordered the honeycomb banana milk latte. We used the touch screen in the shop to order, he ordered the drink as normal and added honey boba. When he received his drink, however, it had no honeycomb, which he mentioned to the man working. The man said “oh it’s not included anymore, it’s $1 extra.” We were very confused by this and my husband was quiet upset and disappointed. It feels like false advertising. Honeycomb is literally in the name ??♀️ Will likely choose other boba shops over this one that have better service and clearer descriptions of drinks without being shady about it.“

“Ordered through the Snackpass app, so I could just pick it up directly when I get there. Worked out since the parking lot is an extremely small lot to the side, not a big plaza. They have two designated parking spots for U Cha customers, but the first time I went, both were taken, so I parked on the other end temporarily. Their classic milk tea is pretty good, I would get it again if I was in the area! The honey boba was soft and chewy, I don't have any complaints on the pearls. However, I would not recommend getting a hot drink from here. The cups for hot drinks are not the best quality and the lid keeps falling off, so unfortunately I had spilled some of my drink on my car. The chicken katsu sando, I highly recommend!! It tasted better than I expected! Compared to katsu sandwiches you can get from like the Asian market, U Cha's is definitely better for about the same cost. It's got a nice crispy outside and juicy inside. I would definitely get it again. Their Tokyo fries were good, however spicy mayo is just not a flavor I personally like, so next time I would just get the fries by itself.“

“This is the best tea I've ever had! I got the roasted oolong, Thai tea and Matcha latte. They were all extremely fresh tasting and delicious. We also got the Taro, which was also very fresh, but because of that tasted like drinking pureed taro root. “Delicious spot nestled in a small plaza! I opted for the medium poke which included about 3 scoops of protein for $13.95 and was quite impressed. Also liked that they had tofu and octopus as an option as I find that those aren't always common. As for my order, I got salmon, albacore. and octopus but added mango, edamame and jalapeño peppers to it as well. Sauce was the Spicy Poke Sauce and a hint of Sweet Chili. Everything tasted fresh and I loved that it came in a box because I felt like it made the portion size feel that much bigger lol. It actually did fill me up as well though so that was good. Few things to note: - Lots of free parking all around - They have about 6-10 tables in the restaurant so you're definitely able to come with a group or 3-4 people - Service is fast and efficient“

“I was coming here everyday when I first moved to Berkeley. The Yakult teas and Oolong teas are my favorite. I'll usually add taro balls and Mochi jelly!! Those are the best two topping options, but their boba is also delicious with a perfect consistency. I think this is a bit pricier for the area, but honestly I think it's worth it sometimes.“

“This Ding Tea is located in Downtown Alameda. This area is pretty busy most weekends and weeknights, so parking is hit or miss - it is mostly street parking or you can park in the parking garage nearby, but you have to walk a couple of blocks over. I wished that they did not close down their other location in Newark - it was more convenient for me to go there because there was parking. There is much of a welcome or any service, but it is a boba shop, so no high expectations - plus, my drink always comes out decently quickly and it is fairly good, so no major complaints.They are usually pretty good at answering the phone for orders, but on this particular visit, they did not, so I had to order inside when I arrived. No worries though because there were only 2 other customers in the store and they already had gotten their drink, so I ordered and got my drink pretty quick. I ordered my usual - the jasmine green milk tea with boba. It has a good cream/milk to tea ratio like always with a good sweetness to it. They serve golden boba as their boba, which is not the best, but it is decent - it is not my choice of boba compared to the other shops though.
