“Went to satisfy a boba craving.
The service is efficient and friendly.
The store is clean and friendly. I like the color. The menu is not so large as to get lost but large enough you are sure to find something yummy.
After choosing a drink you can choose your sugar and ice levels. I love being able to do this! They offer teas, slushes and yakult. The flavor was good. My only problem is that it took forever to make. It wasn’t even that busy. 😔“

“This place is affordable and has great boba!! I got a brown sugar Oolong milk tea with cheese foam for $7 and with 50% sweetness and it was perfect! The barista was very sweet and helped me with suggestions as I wanted a strong tea. The place is very cute too, tasted very authentic and nice.“

“One of the best matchas I've had in Berkeley; properly stored and whisked right in front of you to the perfect temperature unlike a lot of other places where I've seen them exposed to air/light or they burn the matcha horribly. Highly recommended“
“If you like tea this is the place to go to because they do a tea demonstration in Georgia did an amazing job with describing the tastr how they smell and taste and how to make it as well.
.
It was very informative and takes about 15 minutes which I really love and I really enjoy and learned a lot about tea.
.
Also I love coming here and getting the green milk tea with Boba and it has your Taro Boba and taro paste too. You can have it less sweet or no sweet and you can have it with less ice or more ice it's all up to your choice.
.
This is near the university and parking is a little challenge but there's also street parking and parking garage too. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading and have a yelp-tastic day.“
“The place: cozy & calm & quiet

“Not the best boba but it is cutely decorated and they process drinks so fast! There is never a massive line here, and it is in a quaint alley next to the Cookie Factory. There is also not much seating.
The lychee jelly is standard and good. I got the honey grapefruit boba, which was less sweet than I thought at 25%. The boba itself was watery and kinda not very strongly tea flavored. The grapefruit rind at the bottom was good and flavorful but did not translate to the rest of the drink“

“I spend more time here than at home! They have a great selection of Pokemon products, both packs and singles. I love that I can quickly grab a drink, binder, sleeves, and other trading card accessories. Not to mention their weekly trade nights and play nights are always packed.“

“I came here this evening and ordered a bubble tea from the kiosk. The woman working was incredibly friendly, and they have a cute little store. But I ordered a black milk tea with 25% sugar and received an incredibly sweet brown sugar milk tea instead. It was way too sweet, but probably just an oversight.“

“The tea shop and boba shop are separate. I don’t think they use the fresh tea leaves for their drinks bc it doesn’t taste like it. The drinks were overly sweet even though I put 50% sweetness but still good. The boba pearls were perfectly bouncy. Also cheaper than most other boba shops in Oakland.“

“it is small shop which touch screen kiosk to order near Oakland Chinatown. Practically you have to wait for the person in front of you finish their order before you get it. it might fit max 4 to 5 people. There are plenty option from the menu. You can choose sweet option.
The drink is pretty good. The price is reasonable.“
“I love this place, their flavors are tasty and they're always running promotions. Today I stopped by and if you roll the dice the number you get gives you a certain discount how fun. There's claw machines inside, fun seating arrangements, and the workers are super friendly. I love the mango cream smoothie here.“

“Loved the brown sugar milk tea and creme brulee drink. They had other drinks that caught my eye so I will be back to try it!
The lady at the counter seemed very sweet helping out a customer as the customer had a lot of questions. I appreciate the stand alone kiosk to order and got my order relatively quickly.“

“I’ve only had their smoothies and tasted the ice cream . It’s pretty good haven’t been disappointed . Thai tea ice cream is fire 🔥 . They do close early , earlier than their posted hours though sometimes a half hour early so best to arrive over an hour before they close . I haven’t tried their banh mi but they do seem pricey at nearly 18 dollars each!“
“The Mix on Grand remains my absolute go-to for a convenient, fresh drink and a light but filling lunch stop.I have tried all kinds of things on their menu over time(
Including the delicious rose latte)but my latest order completely stole the show. I got the Pineapple Passionfruit Smoothie at 50% sugar, and it is easily one of the best tropical drinks I have ever had.By cutting the sweetness level in half, the natural flavors of the fruit really shine through. It is wonderfully tart, crisp, and incredibly revitalizing—perfect for a quick midday boost. It is the ideal spot if you want high-quality refreshment that keeps you full without feeling heavy. Highly recommend!“

“One of the best places for boba in Oakland's competitive boba scene. I love their fresh rolls. They do a solid job of handling massive amounts of folks at lunch time and are very friendly about adjusting things for me as needed. I love boba binge!“

“Sweetheart Cafe, Oakland’s Chinatown
This Sweetheart Cafe location has been here for more than 30 years. It originally sells snacks and tons of candies in different aisles . Later on, they sold dried fruits also. Eventually they sold hot foods like popcorn chicken, curry fish balls and different boba drinks. They have seatings as well.
Their boba drinks had became so popular that they opened locations in Berkeley, San Francisco and Milpitas.
I love their bobas, it’s sweet, bouncy and great chewing texture. They used to have small tapioca options which I had loved, but it isn’t an option anymore. All their drinks are pretty good so you can’t be wrong what drinks you choose.
I highly recommend their drinks and their popcorn chicken. I will definitely come back and try other drinks as well.“

“We had a wonderful experience! We tried the Argentinian chimichurri wrap with tofu and the protein bowl with tikka masala sauce, beans, and avocado. Everything was flavorful, fresh, healthy, and served in generous portions. The owner was also very welcoming and friendly, and gave us great food recommendations, which made our experience even better. Highly recommend visiting this place!“

“This is a hidden gem! Vy’s homemade lemongrass tofu banh mi are the best banh mi in the bay! I’ve never had such good tofu banh mi, including in my travels throughout Vietnam! After I tasted her banh mi, I immediately returned to buy another. I even brought my family here when they visited from out of town.
Vy and her father are also kind, friendly, and welcoming. Truly amazing service and great prices. Their thai tea boba and their special happy hour deal is great.
TLDR: this spot is my new favorite and is a must try!“

“We came in for the bogo special. Oat milk is a $1 additional, but we still got 3 drinks(1 regular tea, 2 milk teas) for under $18 including tip & tax. My daughter really liked her coconut milk tea. I enjoyed my rose milk tea, despite some rubbery red flecks in it mostly towards the bottom that I'm assuming were clumps from the flavoring.“

“Cool Tea Bar never disappoints! The grass jelly roasted milk tea was absolutely delicious — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with just the right sweetness. The grass jelly added such a refreshing texture and made the drink even better.
The green pandan waffle was also amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with a fragrant pandan flavor. It paired perfectly with the milk tea.
Great drinks, tasty desserts, and friendly service. Definitely one of my favorite spots to relax and grab a treat. Highly recommend!“

“BOBA DRINKS, Chicken wings, spicy noodles. Social distancing, mask required, no dine_in, meter street parking, Great area near Veteran's Hospital and its across from Mr Banh Mi...“
“Hok Tea is seemingly a new boba spot in Chinatown and a great addition to the neighborhood collection. I tried the Mango Coconut Milk and the Yakult Qing Tea. Both were good, but the Mango Coconut Milk was definitely my favorite. It was refreshing, fruity, and creamy at the same time without being overly sweet. The Yakult Qing Tea was light but I felt less enjoyable. The shop itself is small but cute, cozy and welcoming vibe. There was only one staff member making drinks when I visited, but service was still quick and efficient. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would happily come back to try more drinks.“

“Best Boba in town and East Bay. Their pearls are so soft, even when refrigerated...they come out still soft. I love all their boba flavors, and you seriously have to try it to know. Their banh mi is good too, but their boba and smoothies are literally amazing. 10/10. Don't believe me, just try it.“

“I go to Yu's Cafe weekly with my coworkers. The owner, Kelly, and her mother are both nice, welcoming, and the drinks that they prepare and serve are absolutely delicious. They have a good selection of food and Cantonese desserts, on top of the drinks that they make with fresh fruit and flavorful teas. They offer alternative milk options as well for those who are lactose intolerant. They also have a great selection of toppings. We love this place and continue to visit weekly!“
“The owner is a lovely woman who tastes everything in her store to recommend the best Dubai chocolates and teas and cheeses for your tastes, which I found touching. We loved finding Dutch honey drops here and porcini mushrooms, and HIGHLY recommend getting a cortado at the coffee bar.“

“Loved the mango boba with red beans ❤️So delicious and comforting, what’s more is that I paid the price of 1 for 2 with their special discount that day . Too bad there’s no branch here in the L.A. area .
Dietary restrictions: With the customized ordering, you can opt to reduce the sugar in your boba drink, I only had 50% of the amount of sugar for my calorie limit. So that’s really great and my boba tasted so yummy , my hubby had one too?“

“The drinks are great and so is the food! I hope people support because it would be horrible to lose another small business in this area. Unfortunately, the shopping center doesn’t have a lot going for it anymore and I would hate to see the entire thing go away. However, if you like Boba and snacks, this is the place to go! The customer service is top-notch and I love their milk tea.“

“Got the black sesame snow for $7.75. I’m a huge black sesame lover and this hit the spot! It’s a black sesame smoothie with cream. Make sure to ask for less sweetness, around 30% because it cans be pretty sweet. Service is pretty slow though.“

“Not bad, sometimes service can range from a bit rude to pretty cool. Comes out fast but can also be delayed even if the app (use Snackpass, I recommend it)says it’s ready. Best boba in Berkeley so far, because they are consistent with quality, taste, and business. I have to give boba ninja another shot, they seemed pretty okay too!Plentea and share tea dropped in quality :/“

“im a brokeass student and everyday is a living hell for me because of the hotass weather plus my horrible grades😭😭
i went to QTea Bar for the first time and honestly - ITS NOT BAD FOR A PERSON WHO ONLY HAS $10 AT THE MOMENT LIKE ME.
basically, its a small place - however they offer a lot of items on their menu! the one on the picture is the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba, which costed $7 dollars (I DROPPED MY JAW AT THE PRICE, BUT ITS FINE I GUESS?)
i chose Normal sweetness level and was expecting a nice sugar level, but was instantly kicked with a flavor that felt like 10 spoons of sugar on my mouth😭💔
i suggest letting it dilute for a little bit and drinking it, because the sugar really was kicking me
im used to the “normal” amount if sugar level since im a sugar-tooth, but if youre an adult, i suggest 50-75% sugar - also the toppings (boba, etc) are $0.50 — which is an okay price
the employees are super nice, they only had 2 people working at the time i was there - so i believe its a small business run by them
overall; great service, nice menu, small place but functional!
5/5 in my opinion, if i were bias, id give 3.5/5, but they were kind :)“

“The Owner is so hospitable she has such a contagious smile and her demeanor is warm and caring. She will even custom your flavor of the mochi donuts toppings if she has the ingredients. The atmosphere is nice and quiet n ot noisy at all. I will continue to patronize her when my taste bud is asking for mochi donuts.“

“The price and size were very reasonable, and employee's were super nice (although they asked if we were related to our cousin for some reason, kinda strange but friendly). The boba and teas were delicious, and they had plenty of yummy options to choose from. They also had some food options, although we didn't try the meat thing our cousin got, cause we're vegetarian. Made my day better, so glad I went. This place is so much better than Boba Guys, which is just down the street. Do not try to go there, it won't be good. great place to get boba at RareTea!“

“My husband and I just spent two weeks visiting Oakland and we discovered Gelato Firenza (near Grand Lake Theate) one week into our trip. Once we did we made a special trip there every day, and one day even went twice! It’s the best gelato we’ve tasted anywhere, and we’ve been all over.
We first had gelato 40 years ago in Rome and were delighted as it became increasingly popular all over the world. We’ve tried it in many places, but this is our favorite.
We learned that it’s all natural, no additives, and made on the premises daily by the owner, who is so devoted to getting the flavors just right that she often spends four or more days perfecting them.
We love the fact that it’s not overly sweet, so you can really taste the underlying flavors (and feel good about it having less sugar). They’re very generous about allowing you to taste before ordering, and the prices are excellent.
Our favorites were: hazelnut, salted caramel, strawberry and rose (which was so unique and delicious!) Others we tasted and loved included Earl Grey, Matcha, coconut, almond, Dulce de Leche, and cookies and cream, but every flavor we tried was truly delicious.
For reference I have only written two other reviews in my life: one about my dog’s veterinarian, and one about a hotel in Thailand. But this gelato is so special and the owner so delightful I had to pass the word on.
We can’t wait to return to the Bay Area for more.“

• Vietnamese Coffee with Ube and Boba with 25% sugar. It was perfect! Perfect sweetness!
• Taro Coconut Milk Tea with Mango was interesting. Real creamy coconut milk. Felt like the one’s I had in Thailand.
