“Very nice place to eat. We stopped by while visiting the area. The host was very nice and even explained that they make everything themselves and use beef tallow. The food was delicious and if I’m ever back in this area, I will be sure to stop by again.“

“Me and my hubby been docking boats or ferry-hopping our bikes to Balboa saloon since the seventies. Half the year we live in Newport, half Montana-where whiskey still hollers your name out there. This here's our bar, our heartbeat. Fourth we light it up, holidays on lock, pool tables bruised from our elbows, salt and lager thick as perfume. Ensenada-Newport race? Honey, we command this place like pirates. The Owner finally did somethin' right-floor don't grab my flip-flops, somebody's moppin'! Jeff's still king behind the bar, new gals laugh real, pour cold, TVs sharp as knives. Only hitch-get Cruisers to wing it over so we quit dodgin' Death Trap Balboa Boulevard. Five stars, fat tip, and girl-we're bringin' every neighbor, every sunburned neighbor's dog, every salty soul we love down here to share the buzz we just crashed into.“

“I don’t give many places 5 stars but this one deserves it. We got a whole Stay Loose and a slice of the Fiin’n to Fire and both were exceptional. I hate pineapple on pizza but combined with the other toppings it was salty, sweet, crispy and spicy when you add the house made hot sauce. The hazy IPA was one of the better ones I’ve ever had. We’ll be back.“

“First timer drove all the way from Downey worth the drive. I had the blue cheese bacon burger with garlic fries and of course a Dr. Pepper. Very friendly staff they all help out my daughter had the mushroom burger with onion rings and my son had the bacon cheese burger with tots. A must try the only other thing that caught my eye was the hot wings the table next to us ordered Definitely next time“

“Stopped here before my gfs departing flight and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, the drinks were stiff and reasonably priced, and our bartender (Tucker) was the kindest and most efficient bartender I’ve ever had in my life. From now on, this place will be a mandatory go-to before flying out of SNA.“

“Living in the boonies of San Diego Co has benefits…(no traffic jams)…but few awesome perks…(like Tiki bars!!) Luckily the gods aligned, in Orange Co, and our last stop was the Stowaway. Intriguing, dark-painted, one small door marked the front of a strip-mall establishment… hmmm…sorta scary…but not really!! But there were two of us, and we had researched this place…so… The doorman looked at us, said a few things and unlocked a chain. We walked through curtains into the darkest bar I had ever been in, and shuffled toward the green lit bar…which turned red, then blue. The girl bartender handed us a card which we couldn’t read…it was really dark inside. From the shadows, up walked a bearded guy wearing a black shirt with hibiscus’s, smiled, extended his hand and said, “Hi, I’m “WILL”…can I explain anything to you? We had lots of questions…about drinks, Tiki ceramics, glassware, appetizers…and WILL cheerfully explained everything…He was fun, cheery, smart, and So Nice!! He brought us amazing drinks (a Tropical Margarita, a Cococano and totally fun ceramic sculptures from which to drink…an Angler Zombie Fish with a light, and Carved Volcano mug that had a flame show-by WILL, included!! Awesome!!) Totally wonderful décor…lights, bamboo furniture, comfy stools, the Skull Cave and waterfall, starry night ceiling, cool pool tables with lotsa room around them…everything thought through perfectly!!! We are definitely going back…VERY soon!!!! Thanks so much for everything, WILL!!“

“Came here with a group of four, one of whom being from Japan. We were all amazed by the variety and quality of food. It is presented as sharing plates and is much more than sushi. Daily specials were presented on a chalk board, but they had a set menu as well. The miso cheese was *chef kiss*. The service was excellent and friendly and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will be going back soon!!“

“I was blown away - I had the best Spätzle ever, paired with a delicious German Riesling! The wait staff was amazing in every way. I enjoyed the creative look of the outdoor area with friends, then when we walked inside we saw an amazing Beatles cover band. Great experience!“

“The young man who took my order was friendly and helpful. I asked for sandwich suggestions since it was my first time there, and he definitely led me in the right direction.
The sandwich was loaded with all the good stuff, but WAY too much lettuce - there was no way to take a bite of it, and since I am not a snake and able to unhinge my jaw, I took most of it out. I did appreciate the generous helping of avocado and all the ingredients were fresh.
Lastly, for what I got, the price was very good. I'm a fan and I'll be back!“

“INCREDIBLE is an understatement! From the ambiance, to the service, to the impeccably currated menu. Just WOW. The attention to detail on every aspect at Casa De Onda was perfection. The tropical margarita was a show stopper, fresh lime and coconut is a combo I didn’t know I needed. The steak frites melted in you mouth & was topped with a homemade Chimichurri that was a burst of fresh flavor. The vibes from start to finish we insane! 1000/10.“

“I tried Tsuruhashi for the first time, and everything was delicious. The meat was high quality, especially the wagyu, which melted in your mouth. I really liked the sauce that they gave to dip the meat; it went really well together. Service was nice and attentive. I'd highly recommend this place.“
“This is a traditional Vietnamese bar & grill place (Quan Nhau). It has a lively atmosphere. Seems to be popular with the older folks compared to other places. Having said that, the service and food are great! Just be ready for the bad, loud karaoke singing and smoking. Not a family hangout.“

“I go to this bar more than I like to admit and I’ve found that it’s not just because the drinks are cheap, the people are weird, or that’s it’s always a fun night. I find myself going back because the service is top notch. Kari is always on top of it and Rory is always holding down the fort. Hats off to you both and I’ll see you next weekend“

“This place is a vibe. Awesome decor and pretty good drinks but the bartender was a bit tudey. I ordered 2 drinks for my Wife and I while she was in the bathroom. They said they were out of the one for my wife so I turned to ask her as she’s walking towards me and before I could finish my question to her the bartender asks “Is there anything else for this order?!” Thankfully she said whatever you’re having or I would have felt like I was inconveniencing this poor man at the beginning of his shift with a practically empty bar. I’d come back but would make it a point to have a back up drink in mind just in case I happened to bother this guy on another “off night”.“
