“I finally tried Thai Del Mar tonight after passing by several times, and I’m really glad I did. It’s literally next door to Johnny Pizza, so it’s easy to find.

The food was way better than Bamboo Bistro, which is supposed to be popular but honestly wasn’t enjoyable to me at all.

I ordered the Pad Thai and egg rolls, and both were really good flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. I was actually happy while eating, which says a lot.

The service really stood out as well. Patrick helped me, and he was very kind, soft-spoken, and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

They mentioned they have fried banana for dessert, so I’m planning on coming back tomorrow to try that. Overall, I’m really happy I gave this place a chance and will definitely be returning.“

I love their Pad Tai with chicken, Green Curry and my husband loves the Pad See Ew. We would recommend you try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.“

“Have been picking up takeout from this neighborhood staple for 26 years and I know people who have been eating here since 1990. D Thai Chinese is apparently a one-woman operation; the owner takes orders, cooks, serves etc. all by herself, and she is so sweet and friendly.
I can only respect how D Thai's prices remain lower than other Thai/Chinese places in the area, although the prices have been raised in the last year or so (two dollars up per lunch and dinner special). The quality of the food however has remained reliably good, fresh cooked to order, and flavorful. I don't know enough about Chinese or Thai cooking to comment on how authentic it is, but it's pretty good in my opinion and that's what matters most to me.
I've tried most of the menu over the years and the standouts to me are the fried rice, thai basil chicken, mongolian beef, beef salads, and pad see ew. The majority of the menu is four stars, but those are the five star items in my experience.
Be advised, cash only and takeout only! For what it is -- a takeout Asian hole-in-the-wall restaurant -- D Thai is a respectable local treat that I will allow myself pretty regularly within my budget. Since the owner lady is so likeable and impressive, and the food is plentiful and decent quality for your dollar, I have to rate this place five stars overall.

The atmosphere can be busy, but comforting and relaxing, like a coffeehouse. The hustle and bustle of people coming in doesn’t distract from the atmosphere. In fact, it adds to it. I have always judged a Thai restaurant by their Tom kha kai. The first time I had it here I knew I was in for some good Thai. I’ve been making Tom kha gai at home for years now I know how it’s done and the subtleties of the ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“I have been going to Thai Pepper for decades now. There food is always just spot on and the lunch special of $9.95 is a great deal. You get an entree in which I always get The Mint Leaves Chicken, fried rice, two fried wontons and a salad. My only suggestion would be to put the salad in a separate little box so it does not get hot next to the hot food. Other than that the food is excellent and great prices. You can get it mild to very hot on the spice! I stick with mild and my friend always gets the level 10 hot, hot, 🔥🥵 HOT. I would die, but different strokes for different folks.👍🤤🎉“

“I got the BBQ chicken and (steamed) rice with the ginger scallion sauce and it was so good! The chef and employee were also very nice and were available for any questions we had.
I also got a Thai iced coffee with milk and it is wow! It’s very strong, so fair warning, but also very good! It’s not super sweet or bitter - it’s the perfect in-between.
For the food and coffee (with tip) the total came out to about $24 as of January 2026. I will gladly pay that again! :)“

“We get take out from Basil Thai about twice a month and are never disappointed. The Pad Thai and Crying Tiger are amazing dishes, as is the Drunken Noodles & Cream Cheese Wontons. “I Love George's food. His Pad Thai is awesome. The Drunken Noodles are also delicious. His location is inside a "Ghost Kitchen" facility called "Smart Kitchens". It's a hidden gem. He used to have a brick and mortar location on bristol street, before the pandemic started.Customer beware. Its all takeout at this location. You can find this food on most popular 3rd party delivery apps. You can do pickup via his website too. Thats where he shines the most.If you go into the "ghost kitchen" as a walk-in order, you can place orders via the KIOSK inside. Wait times may vary during peak hours.
