“Haven't been here for many years. A brief visit to the area, and I decided I had to go there (my sister visited it recently). Oh how glad I am. We had the most sterling waitperson, Taylor. She made our evening an absolute delight. Her energy was just right...genuine, encouraging and informative. We came back for breakfast mostly at her encouragement and because she was working that shift too. The food is exquisite. The ambiance is perfect...beachy vibe, with a fancy feel. “A beautiful morning at Crystal Cove...7AM reservation at a table with great views of the ocean and our smiling server, Oscar, welcoming us with strong hot coffees & cream. Perfect. I enjoyed a typical breakfast that was perfectly prepared to my order: poached eggs, extra crispy potatoes & bacon with rye toast and blackberry jam. My lovely partner was overwhelmed by the tasty gigantic "Savory Spinach & Mushroom Crepe". It would easily feed two people. Oscar was very attentive and often stopped by with more hot coffee. “We had high hopes coming to Olea, but alas we were disappointed. Location/Ambiance: Westcliff Plaza and small with a large bar at the front, the layout leaves little space for tables. We sat in a snug booth alongside the windows with a view of Susie Cakes next door. The decor is warm and modern. Food: Subpar! Burnt bread but delicious whipped butter. Butter lettuce and Goat cheese salad was bland with a basic dressing. Mac and cheese skillet was good but nothing amazing. Filet was dry with overdone gluey mashed potatoes, and underdone broccolini. Halibut was pan seared to a dry mess with an inedible coating, bland steamed seasonal vegetables of cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli as a side. Service: Friendly and Fake, if you enjoy watching servers walk away from your table talking about how "picky and difficult you are" this is a perfect spot. My Mother has dietary restrictions and we are specific to ensure a safe dining experience, it's sad when that's met with disdain. Overall: We won't be back!“

“I had an amazing experience today at The Stand in Tustin, thanks to a staff member named Evan. I arrived on a busy Friday evening with my three young children, and after sitting down, I realized I had mistakenly left one of their orders off when I placed it. With the long line of people waiting and my three hungry kids, I quickly flagged Evan down for help. I explained my situation and asked if he could bring the missing order, offering to pay him cash on the spot. Without hesitation, Evan stepped up, quickly resolving the issue and bringing our missing order to the table.

“Came in on a Saturday night with a reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We were seated immediately. Abigail was our server and bartender and she was so sweet and attentive!! The entire staff made sure our table stayed clean and that our items came at a reasonable time. We both loved our pasta plates, especially the brussels sprouts. Dessert was brought out and Abigail brought my bf a nice card that the entire restaurant signed wishing him a happy birthday, which was so thoughtful- never been to a place that did that. We started with the short rib tacos and caprese house burrata - both were fantastic and you could really tell how fresh the heirloom tomatoes and basil were. The desserts were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Will definitely be back out next trip to Cali. You will also see the owner greet every table, I think that’s amazing! Makes you feel well taken care of. “I use to go to RH with my family in the 70's. Atmosphere always transported us to Hawaii. They were famous for BB ribs, drinks, unique salad (with mayo dressing) and even served a bowl of crudite' with celery, salami, etc. every meal. I didn't like the modern re model, however, NOW THIS RE BUILD iS so cool! Just like the 1970's but better!! Dim lit and Hawaiian music set the mood. I was really anxious to try the ribs again. The service was GREAT appetizer excellent but, ribs, BAD! They were not edible. Hard and chewy, like beef jerky. I was so disappointed and all of our party ordered and received the same. I may try again but won't order ribs!!!“

“Brunch with my bestie. We were sat outside with a view of the private beach. We watched the occasional surfer and serene waves while sipping prosecco and enjoying each other's company. The staff is lovely. The seating is comfortable. The food is delightful, and we enjoyed very nice surprises, such as precisely how big and delicious the cinnamon roll is. I've never in my life been excited about a cinnamon roll. This one changes everything. It's perfectly seasoned, perfectly browned outside and fluffy inside, and perfectly gooey - not at all runny. The seafood salad and eggs benny were just as good. I never thought about using focaccia for eggs Benedict, but here we are and it ruined us for any other configuration for this dish. Every single interaction was sincerely positive, and I can't say enough about how each encounter with a team member, even brief, remains on my mind. An unforgettable experience. Will return and will recommend.

For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for. The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! Bayside is an experience I cherish every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!“

“They have a nice dining area with indoor and outdoor seating which has a view of the water. Need to get rid of the fake, plastic flowers and the thumping music but overall the atmosphere is nice. The Avocado Fries were yummy and the Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Service was a little slow, the entrees were not brought out together so we had to wait so we could eat together. Seems like a good place for a date night.

Parking: There are a few spots in front of the restaurant but you will probably have to park in the nearby structure which they validate“

“My wife and I love this place! The food is great and the service is good too. I would have given the service 5 stars, but they get so busy on the weekends that sometimes you wait a while. The servers themselves are very cool and accommodating though.“

“This was a very special visit. My aunt used to take me here with my mom and sister when we were young. I came on a whim with my husband and the food brought back all the special memories.

We came for lunch and were served their special popovers with strawberry butter and consommé. It was just as delightful as I remembered. My husband was really impressed.

For lunch, I ordered the pecan crusted salmon and he ordered the chicken Milanese. Both were delicious! My salmon was a great piece of quality fish. It was cooked perfectly and the pecan crust was a light and crispy compliment to the stellar fish. My husband was very happy with his chicken. It came with arugula in a savory a very light dressing. It was an impressive compliment to the chicken. Lastly, we ordered pumpkin pie and coffees.

Our lunch was under $100, and well worth it. Everything was fantastic. We had the sweetest server-I can’t recall her name but she was an older woman who made us want to come back and dine with her again and again.

“The Lumberyard located in beautiful downtown Laguna Beach is a great place to have lunch or dinner. There is a new $16 lunch menu and I decided to try the fish tacos. There was a choice between salmon or halibut for the tacos which included shredded cabbage with a pink cream sauce and a side of black bean and corn salad. I chose the halibut for my taco and it was cooked perfectly. It was a generous portion of fish in each of the tacos so it could easily be split with a friend. The service was excellent. Our orders were taken within about five minutes of sitting down and the food came out quickly after we ordered. I would recommend the Lumberyard if you are visiting Laguna Beach. You will need to have reservations during the Art Festivals or when there is a play at the Playhouse.“
