“I ordered the chicken pho at Lasam Pho in Citrus Heights and it was absolutely outstanding. I’m used to getting overcooked, dry chicken at most places, but theirs was the complete opposite, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with their richly seasoned broth, which really brought the whole dish together. You can tell they put care into the quality of their ingredients. Definitely one of the best chicken pho experiences I’ve had.“

“excellent Japanese comfort food. My wife’s regular tonkotsu ramen featured a creamy, rich broth that was deeply satisfying and delicious. I went for the garlic tonkotsu with extra eggs, the bold garlic kick elevated the already flavorful pork broth, making it truly amazing and addictive.

We shared pork fried rice, karaage chicken, and chicken yakitori; all spot-on, flavorful, and wonderful. Great portions, cozy vibe, and solid execution overall. Highly recommend for ramen lovers. 5/5.“

My friend and I used to go to other pho places that would be very busy and would forget requests that we would have, but this location would be very attentive and remember if we had asked for more water, limes, etc. I love the calm vibe and it is so relaxing after a long day at work.“

“I got the Spicy Black Garlic ramen and my, was it delicious. It wasn't overly salty or anything, it was great!
The shrimp tempura and karaage is always a must and super crunchy, I definitely recommend eating them with the red sauce.

The food came out in a fast timely manner, didn't take any longer than 20 minutes.

And the atmosphere within the restaurant was great. It was cozy, felt like I was back at my grandparent's being served dinner. Customer service was great and super welcoming, so polite.

“We had dinner for the first time the other night and everything was excellent. I was the only Vegan in our group and they had quite a few vegan options. I had for starters the crispy tofu and spring rolls, also the Pad Thai and the rice mango dessert. Our waiter was on top of things and it was just an all-around great experience. “Updating to 5 stars. I believe in second chances. I tried it again and loved my food! My daughter's alfredo looked good last time, and I wanted pasta again without a lot of hassle, so I gave it a shot. I asked for no bacon bits. The dish was really good and so satisfying! The broccoli and spinach were very fresh. The pasta was cooked perfectly (as it was the last time). The sauce had plenty of flavor, esp with the delicious cheese they grated on top, so not sure what was up with my daughter's food as mine definitely wasn't bland or dry. It wasn't ultra saucy, but it had enough sauce for me, plus I don't need the additional calories. I subbed shrimp for chicken, and it tasted really good--grilled, not bland. Now I know I can just customize a little and make it a little more to my taste if needed. They have different proteins to choose from, and you can add additional vegetables of all sorts. I will be adding this spot to my rotation. Glad I gave it another shot! Also, I find the staff to be very sweet and professional. They're always cleaning up, and that's good to see too.

The food is average, but the plus is that it seems to be fresh. I ordered a Cajun pasta with shrimp that was far too heavy on thyme. I was expecting cajun flavor, not thyme and was very confused by that. There were annoying, hard bacon bits throughout that just seemed more like old bits of overcooked meat. It was very unappealing. I kept trying to scrape them away. The pasta was really dry. Hardly any sauce.

My daughter got the alfredo and subbed shrimp instead of chicken. It was also dry, hardly any sauce, which made it bland and unpleasant to eat.

The shrimp was ok. Not the best quality, but it didn't smell bad or anything. I wasn't expecting really great seafood at a chain restaurant anyway.

Service was very polite, and the food came out warm and fairly quick without being suspiciously quick.

I can't say I would not go back, but I am also not sure I would want to go back.“

“Honestly, it is an older building but it is lovingly maintained and very clean. I love family owned spots like this. They have been sharing their family recipes with the community for years and it doesn't taste like generic chain-restaurant food. Their pho is so good! We shared the broccoli beef, chicken fried rice, and chicken egg drop soup.

The broccoli beef was phenomenal! In addition to the broccoli, we noticed bok choy, carrots, baby corn, and onion in the mix, which all perfectly complimented the dish. The sauce was delicious.

The chicken fried rice was really good - a pretty basic dish, but we enjoyed it a lot. Some places use vegetables cut larger than I like, but these were a good size.

The soup was also really good. My only issue was there was a LOT of tofu, which I can't eat much of due to a minor allergy, but I was able to just pick the pieces out. The broth itself was amazing.“

“This place is our go to since moving to the area 3 years ago. I feel confident in saying that this place is great and I recommend it. It is only to go, no dining in. The service is always super friendly and fast. The portions are large! Favorites are the orange chicken, tomato beef chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, house fried rice and brocolli beef. Yum yum! “I and my husband and even our children when they come to visit we take them to this restaurant. The food is very good, their service and the price is cheaper than anyplace around. They owner and staff treat you like family too.“

“Best Chinese food in Sac by far! I used to think Fats in Roseville was the best around here but this restaurant proved me wrong. The food was very flavorful, balanced, traditional and overall just delicious. My girlfriend and I ordered chow mein (amazing!) orange chicken (amazing!) and honey walnut shrimp. If anyone likes honey walnut shrimp as much as I do, make sure to DEFINITELY try it here. You won’t regret it!!“

“BOMB! I could only be happier if I could eat more in 1 sitting. On a Sunday afternoon, it was practically empty. I had the pork and veggie ($11 and easily the best) as well as pork and crab ($15) and it was very filling. 3 sauces are on every table: chili crisp, a sweet soy blend, and a sour vinegar based soy blend. I mixed all 3 in the provided dish and loved having every flavor component without any being overpowering. They come out piping hot from the kitchen w a glass wall so you could watch em brewing made if you want. The service counter has 1 register, but if there's a love, they have a kiosk right next to it that can be used to order and pay too. Water is free from a dispenser by the register. And there's a to go station if you eat there and want to take part home, complete w containers, utensils, sauce and sauce cups w lids, and bags. There's light spa music playing which feels very zen. The mural goes great w the red and wood decor. The staff was nice and service was very fast. Their storage shelving is covered w linens bearing their logos, and the 1 person bathroom is clean and made to smell nice. If I'm ever passing thru, I'll be stopping here for sure!“

“I decided to try this restaurant after indoor go karting & I was impressed. Now years later while on our way home & hungry my family wanted Vietnamese food. I'm happy to find that not only has the restaurant improved their decor but the food has also stayed consistently great! We've stopped in for a family dinner several times & we are never disappointed. Every dish we have tried was delicious! For a family of 5 the price is reasonable. I highly recommend Pho Bac Hoa Viet for the food, atmosphere, & even for it being right off hwy 50. We'll definitely be going back.“
