“These empanadas are good! We had gone once before and my son was looking forward to getting these. No complaints on the taste! His favorite is the Philly cheesesteak. The shrimp one wad pretty good, just a little fishy but I thought it was still delicious. My only complaint was the rude customer service. We went in on 04/18 and when we got there the cashier was arguing with the 2 other guys there. Literally arguing! The cashier was so rude and unprofessional. He was so nice to the girl in front of me taking her order and then it was my turn and they just kept going and going. I stood there ready to get my order taken and they kept arguing. I think the cashier was rolling his eyes at the guys but he was literally taking orders and rolling his eyes. But, all in all, still good empanadas.“

“My entire experience was extremely disappointing. The bartender was rude and demonstrated a complete lack of customer service from the moment my guest and I sat at the bar. We were not greeted at all. When we asked about drink options and specials, she immediately rang up the order and shoved the handheld payment device in our faces without explaining that payment was required upfront or offering any communication whatsoever.

When we attempted to get her attention afterward, she brushed us off repeatedly. The food that arrived was burnt and tasted terrible. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told that they did not speak English, which was both frustrating and unacceptable.

The only person who showed any level of professionalism or care was the security guard, who did his best to assist us. Ultimately, we received a refund and left.

As a restaurant consultant, I found this experience especially disheartening. I will not be returning, particularly if this bartender remains in place. Customer service, communication, and basic hospitality were entirely absent.“

The kitchen and service staff work in perfect synchronization, delivering top-tier hospitality that feels both professional and warm. “This restaurant is by far the best I’ve ever been too. You walk in, you immediately greeted with the most amazing staff, they make you feel like family its so warm and inviting. “A hidden gem in the heart of Koreatown, Xecul offers a warm, authentic taste of Guatemala! My sister and I have visited twice, and as non-Latina/os, we were blown away by the kindness and hospitality—especially from the sweet and welcoming waitstaff (Anna is a highlight!). Knowing some Spanish helps (high school level + Google Translate worked fine for me), since the staff seems to speak primarily Spanish. Nonetheless, if you're willing to make the effort with rudimentary Spanish, the patient and friendly waiting staff should treat you fine.

The cozy, colorful space feels like a true local favorite, buzzing with regulars (including even charming musicians on the weekend). Standouts include the rich and savory pepián chicken, tender and delicious carne asada, and incredibly refreshing iced juices. Prices are slightly high, but completely fair for the high quality. If you're craving something off the beaten path and full of heart and decliciousness, Xecul is absolutely worth the detour.“

“"Saltado" should be a Food Group. That....... Sauce.......... is what's had me Craving this Peruvian Dish since I tried it, back in 2009, at another restaurant. I recommend Chios' Shrimp and Seafood Saltados to everyone I happen to discuss Latinx Food with. ALWAYS, extra Sauce. I literally haven't tried anything else on the menu, Yet.“

“I’ve always driven by and finally got a chance to stop in for dinner. The restaurant was bustling and a vibe. The servers were very friendly and attentive and helped us decide between a couple dishes. There’s too many good options and I will definitely be back to try some of the others. We go one of the soups and the shrimp and steak dish. Big delicious portions and great micheladas!“

“Sarita’s Pupuseria is one of those places where you immediately know you made the right decision the second you take your first bite. Honestly, give me 20. No hesitation.

You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the revuelta is the one. If there were such a thing as a perfect bite, it would be that pupusa with curtido and just a little drop of their salsa. It’s warm, savory, slightly tangy, and hits every note exactly the way it should.

Everything is made to order, so come with a little patience. But that’s part of the experience. Watching them press, fill, and cook each pupusa is its own kind of show. These aren’t rushed. They’re crafted. And you can taste that in every bite.

It’s the kind of food that feels simple but is done so well it stays with you. Add in the fact that it has a little movie moment tied to it, and it just makes the whole experience even better.
