“Since I don't ski, I wanted to find a nice cafe where I could enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book while waiting for my skiing family members to come off the slopes. A local guide suggested that I try the Coffeebar Cafe which is at the very end of the Olympic Valley mall area. He said that the coffee was better than Starbucks. I went and he was right. The cappuccino was perfect. (I think the Starbucks coffee is a dark dark roast whereas Coffeebar is a medium dark roast) There are lots of tables and chairs on the outdoor patio as well as some comfortable tables inside the cafe. It was not a noisy gathering place. I read my book! Folks were masked. The menu includes soups, salads, and paninis. The patio faces the ski slopes so I think this is where we will all meet next time for lunch.”

“My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the veg options here! I got the harvest salad bowl (vegan version) and he got the portobello burger. My bowl was hearty and delicious! There was also a cauliflower steak on the menu that looked very tempting. I’d be happy to return to try it. Updated from previous review on 2026-02-01”

“Nothing better after a morning of skiing or hiking than a warm homemade vegan burger wrapped in fried bread. It's unique and beety and and very good - not fake meat by any means and also not the soggy grocery store variety you sometimes find. Just soft and crunchy goodness.”

“We've eaten several times at Six Peaks Grille over the years and the food, ambiance, and service keep getting better. The beautiful location looking down Olympic Valley with the impressive lighted fir trees set the stage for a great dining experience. Usually, the beef and seafood selections as well as the pasta are fabulous. This time however, we had an incredible food and wine experience with unique dishes paired with singular wines from less known regions such as Piemonte, Abruzzo, and Puglia. We've done several wine pairing meals at restaurants around the world and this ranks top tier for quality and price. Even without the wine-pairing meal Six Peaks Grille is becoming the go-to luxury dining experience in the Palisades Tahoe area.”

“Sylva is an absolute gem. Just 14 months in, this intimate restaurant has already mastered the art of creating a memorable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, everything was flawless: attentive service, inviting atmosphere, and perfectly curated music that enhanced rather than distracted.

A special note on their accommodation of dietary restrictions: my girlfriend has a unique set of food allergies, and our server had one of their chefs personally mark up the menu to clearly denote which meals would be safe. This level of care and attention is remarkably rare. We've only experienced this at a handful of other restaurants.

Now, the food. Each dish was exceptional, but a few standouts deserve special mention: the sourdough focaccia bread was extraordinary on its own, but paired with the pork loin, it became something transcendent. The scallops were the best I've ever had, perfectly seared with incredible flavor. Their burger exceeded all expectations, and the confit duck leg was absolutely stunning.

We finished with the bread pudding, which may have been the highlight of an already outstanding meal. Fresh whipped cream, rich chocolate chunks, and expert execution made it unforgettable.

Sylva is doing everything right. This is destination-worthy dining that rivals anything you'd find in a major city. Highly recommended.”
