Masala Waves is an absolute gem. We started with the tandoori fish and the samosa chaat and wow both were bursting with flavor. The fish was perfectly cooked tender and packed with smoky spices and the samosa chaat had the perfect balance of crispy tangy and comforting. The mango lassi was so refreshing and creamy easily one of the best I’ve had. The chicken biryani truly stole my heart. It honestly reminds me of my mom’s cooking. The spices the aroma and the tenderness of the chicken made it feel like a warm homemade meal made with love. On top of all that the service was wonderful and so kind and welcoming which made the experience even better. I absolutely love this place and cannot wait to come back 💓🍛✨“

My girlfriend had the chicken tikka, buttery smooth and tender like it melted in your mouth. The butter and garlic naan were fresh, fluffy, and crispy on the edges. “My husband and I chose Annapoorna Indian Cuisine in Irvine for our Valentine’s Day dinner, and it turned out to be such a beautiful, intimate experience.
The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which honestly made it even better for a date night. It felt cozy, clean, and incredibly comforting almost like being welcomed into someone’s home. The atmosphere was calm and intimate, perfect for actually enjoying conversation without feeling rushed.
Now let’s talk about the food. Absolutely delicious.
The butter chicken was the star of the night rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. I genuinely haven’t stopped thinking about it. We also ordered chicken masala (and possibly biryani we were too busy enjoying everything to keep track!), along with both garlic naan and regular naan. The naan was warm, soft, and perfect for soaking up that amazing butter chicken sauce.
We also had the veggie samosas, which come with two pieces and two dipping sauces. They were so good that I honestly wish they gave more that’s how addictive they were. Crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside, and paired perfectly with the sauces.
Portion sizes overall were generous. If I had one small note, it would be that the butter chicken had more sauce than chicken I would’ve loved a bit more protein in the dish. But flavor-wise? Incredible.
I also noticed they offer an all you can eat option, which I definitely plan on coming back to try.
Service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being intrusive. The entire experience felt relaxed and special, which made our Valentine’s dinner even more memorable.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy, intimate Indian spot in Irvine with delicious food and great service. We will absolutely be back.“

They showed up on time, prepared, and were very professional to work with throughout the entire process. We haven't even gotten to the food yet - every single person at the event (desi and non-desi) enjoyed the food and praised the food to us. Of note, the rasmalai, double ka meetha, mutton curry, mango daal, chai, apollo fish, mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, paneer makhani, aloo gobi, and more. The owner and chef cooked at high end restraunts before opening his own place. The chicken tikka is perfectly cooked every time. All bread and somosas are hand made from scratch. My husband and I have been eating here for over a decade and we’ve found the service, food quality, and family that owns the place to be exceptional every single time. We are greeted like family when we come in and consistently have a great experience. We’ve had Indian food from CA to London, and still, Tandoori has the best flavor of them all. My husband has tried a number of things on the menu and raves about the Chicken tikka masala. I LOVE the veggie korma. The flavor is full and rich, and when you ask for spicy, they give it to you. The garlic naan is absolutely delicious, as are the samosas. We’ve eaten in, gotten takeout, and also ordered on DoorDash tons of times and every single time the food is piping hot and so flavorful. We love that it’s family run and that they use all family recipes. I’ve seen some reviews mention portion sizes being small, which is wild because I always have leftovers. I order an extra rice to make a second meal out of it and it never disappoints. The space is modest which makes it feel like a hidden gem. 10/10 will keep going here.“

The portion size of s horrible. The taste of the food is awe filling because it’s probably microwaved rather than cooked properly. Horrible experience. Stay away! “We always order from them as they are the only Indian restaurant open late and also the food is delicious, but today, when we ordered butter chicken and garlic naan (both super delicious!), the portions were smaller than usual and the naan was cold. Hopefully this can be fixed!“
