We decided to give it a shot anyway & Im glad we did…I had the asada quesadilla, my husband had the tripa & lengua taco & we shared a birria ramen… everything was really good! “Decided to give this place a try after seeing a review from someone who’s been coming here since 1985. First impressions were great—very clean restrooms, spotless tables, and even the owner came by to check if everything was okay.

At first, we weren’t sure what to order, but we finally settled on the shrimp tacos with queso, beans, and rice. Let me tell you—those were super yummy!

The aguachiles, on the other hand, were a letdown. I usually expect a rich, spicy green sauce that really brings out the flavors, but here it was just lime and salt over the shrimp. Simple, but lacking the depth I was hoping for.

Overall, it was a decent experience. I’d definitely come back for the tacos, but I’d skip the aguachiles next time.“

“Reminds me of home. A lady helped me and she was so sweet. I didn’t see it on their menu but i saw her checking on something while i made up my mind. It was pork in chile verde my favorite! I asked her if i can get that she said of course and brought it to my table. It felt like a home cooked meal. I will come again when I’m in the area.“

But the Banzai Bowl - it's a mountain of fresh veggies and brown rice topped with grilled fish or tofu is super popular for those with any dietary issues. Their fish tacos are legendary, and the Classic is my go-to. The fish is always perfectly grilled, and the cabbage mix adds a nice crunch. Sigg the pico de Gallo & salsa station near soda fountain machine.

Their drinks are top-notch too! They have a very unique ice packed chest into counter next to cash register with Mexican beers and sodas...has water, teas And other options. But the real star is the patio. It's huge, open, and surrounded by trees, like a cathedral of sunshine. There's always a nice breeze, and it's the perfect place to chill after a meal.

The staff are always super friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure everyone feels welcome, especially people with disabilities. I've seen them help people with wheelchairs and walkers, and they always do it with a smile. I'm 1 of them:))

And the location is right in the heart of Old Towne Orange, in a beautiful plaza that's a National Landmark. You can see all kinds of historic buildings & Landmarks from the patio including Plaza ⛲ Park 🏞️ & Orange 🍊 Square ⏺️ .

“If you saw it from the outside, you probably wouldn't think you could buy prepared food here. But it's legit, the enchiladas are probably some the best flavor wise I've eaten. Red or green sauce always good. Tortas are pinpoint and simple. Street tacos are good, just ask for extra cilantro and onions. Salsa is key...very good“

“Atmosphere:
While I know that the kitchen noise level can't be avoided, that would be my only negative issue, but that's my issue with most restaurants and that includes music, and TV noise. This restaurant doesn't have any TV's thank goodness.

Service: What I did enjoy was watching the amazing teamwork. It appeared to me that there weren't any ego's involved and quality service was their only goal.

Food: My food was cooked to perfection, AND, I didn't have ask for salt and pepper because it's part of the table setup. With that said, why can restaurants trust the customers with place settings, and other condiments, but salt pepper are protected, (maybe behind a locked location requiring someone to unlock it before being allowed to set at the table).
