“I’ve been going here for a decade and a half. It is my go to high quality and authentic sushi place since my college days. Ohshima is as good as you are going to get with Sushi. If you think you can get salmon anywhere else, ohshima offers something different. The cherry salmon they have is heavenly. What you cannot miss is the love orange clam and black cod sushi. I’ll always come back for more.“

I’ve been going here ever since it first opened when I went to El Modena High School 6 years ago and always on my list of places to come back to eat when visiting from college. Prices have to change here and there due to inflation but has always been reasonable and a lot better than other places. It’s a local Japanese family that owns this place too and has been so nice every time. I saw someone complain about portions but it’s really up to you with what you get, they offer ALL these complimentary toppings for free but if you choose to not have them then it’s on you.

Had the chips and salsa to start with a side of refried beans which I recommend you order; a cold chelada, which is beer and lime juice, that hit the spot on that warm day. “First time coming here and sushi is pretty good quality. I opted for the spicy tonkotsu but was not spicy enough, but the pork chashu was pretty charred and tasty. I also ordered the yellowtail lover and tuna with lemon slices roll.

All rolls are 4 pieces which is nice because if you want to try many rolls vs just trying one roll. 4 pieces for under 10 dollars is such a good deal. People recommended me the sashimi salad or 2 other options that are big enough for 4 people with variety of fresh sashimi.“

“So I went here after an awful experience at another Mexican restaurant, I pleaded for some good food and the owner took care of me and whipped up an unbelievable wet burrito and carne asada taco. I could not be any more pleased especially after a bad run with another spot. He told me the history of the restaurant and how fresh they make everything, I sat there and seen him make everything from scratch, if you want a good quality restaurant please come and visit this spot.“

“First timer here. The food was good. The fish was fried to perfection, and the portiin size was great. The fish was larger than I had anticipated. The fries were OK ( only because the fish was put on top of it so by the time I went to eat the fries, they were soggy from the Fish). The Cole slaw was delicious.
My kids ordered the chicken strip and I liked that it was battered and fried exactly like thr Fish. Loved the crunch. My only complaint is that it taste like it was fried in the same oil as the fish so the kids said their chicken taste like fish.
The restaurant was not well ventilated. The AC was cranked (I'm assuming for the cooks since I can only imagine that the fryers would get very hot). Unfortunately because the AC was blasting....as a patron, it felt REALLY COLD.
Also, i wish they had a way to vent out the fried food smell. The fried fish smell is very strong when you first step into the restaurant. Obviously over time, you get used to the smell but if they can figure out a good way to air out the place, that would be great.
The guy cooking was extremely fast and efficient..he was the only worker in there and he was knocking out orders left and right.
I would eat here again for sure.
If you are looking for Fish and Chips ... I would definitely give this place a try .

Vegetarian options: I THINK (i don't know for sure) that they fry their onion rings, French fries, and zucchinis in the same oil as their fish,other seafood and chicken so I'm not sure how "vegetarian" that would be.

“This restaurant is so clean and the service is great! We came here tonight (Thursday night). Thought we were yhe only people dining in the restaurant, they had so much foot traffic for pick up orders.
Let me tell you, the food was DELICIOUS. The flavors were bold, on point, and authentic. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal,and so did my family. We even ordered 2 more dinner dishes for take out after our meal since we liked it so much.
Best part of all is that this restaurant is EXTREMELY affordable. If they keep their prices right where it's at, we will definitely be regulars here!!!
Definitely come here if you are looking for delicious Thai food.

“Old classic American steakhouse. Bartenders are outstanding and pour a good drink not your standard 1 oz. . The Owners Jeff and Steve have greatly improved the place the last several years. I've seen their business increase. The food is very good and competitively priced. Some comments I read earlier that it was overly priced they must go to Denny's a lot. The weekends get packed. Sometimes 1-2 hour wait for dinner. They have entertainment on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. They also have great Happy Hour specials M-F. I'm just another happy customer that has been coming in for years.“
