“My husband and I went to BG's Cafe for the first time last week. Angelina, our server was fantastic with her knowledge of the extensive menu. One could tell she really loves what she does by her great attitude. Now for our menu selections: My husband's Pastrami Sandwich with homemade thousand island dressing was the "real deal". My cup of clam chowder was prepared with a delicious creamy base that was silky smooth not gravy thick. A small packet of "Oyster soup" crackers finished off the experience. The rich soup was perfect to go with my half of a roasted turkey sandwich. We met Veronica and Jose, the owners who made you feel like family! We will definitely be back to their "gem" of a cafe with the "real deal" food on the menu.“

“The staff here is great. It doesn't matter if you're inside or out. The food is so delicious he loves the chilaquiles verdes, chicken fried steak for me. The portion is large but filling. Their homemade banana bread is very good. This is definitely our morning spot when eating out. We have never been disappointed. I love this spot.“

Gabby could not have been more friendly, efficient and capable as she managed the breakfast rush all by herself. “GREAT LUNCH MENU...which I had somewhat forgotten after having so many great breakfasts here. I ordered the Turkey Dinner which was FANTASTIC...better than any other "Thanksgiving Special" I've ever had. Remarkable was the fact that the meal was delivered within 6-minutes of order, and it was steaming hot and so fresh and tasty that I would have believed that it was made immediately before I ordered. Really really good.

And so much food that I took home enough for dinner. Wow. Check the photo...I didn't have room for dessert.

The service was immediate and super-friendly.

“Ventura is filled with God breakfast restaurants, but this place is the OG of great breakfast. I've been coming here about 40 years, and never disappoints. Complimentary Swedish pancake is a great touch. Plus, Pepper plant on the table - nobody else does this. Don't know what it is? You don't know what you're missing.“

“Very beautiful restaurant with murals on both walls showing parts of Camarillo's history!

The service was very friendly and there were many food options. I got the Shredded pork omlette and it was so full of flavor!! The pork itself was very soft and tender, and the combo with the egg, onion, green chile (which was not spicy at all!), tomato, cheese, avocado and sour cream was amazing. The omlette also came with hash browns and a biscuit. Both of which i was also impressed by. The potatoes were both crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the biscuit was light and buttery.

As a bonus, they also give every customer a free Swedish pancake with their lingonberry jam.

While on the more expensive side, you truly get what you pay for. I recommend this place for your next breakfast outing with friends/ family!“

“Came in today to order my favorite combo - the OTC French Toast with crispy bacon and eggs. Great place if you’re looking for breakfast in Camarillo. Whenever I have a morning off I love to come here for a meal and a nice cup of coffee. Great homey feeling and good customer service. Today Haley was my server and provided excellent customer service. Food came out fast, I was greeted by a friendly smile, and felt attended too the whole time. She even got my water to fill up before I noticed or asked. Thanks Haley and the whole OTC team! See you soon.“

Server finally came around and other tables before me.

I was a table of one, may she thought I wasn't going top tip as good?
Maybe I wasn't a young group for her service?
Not Latino enough for her service?

I frequent all IHOP and always tip 25% so maybe some organizations don't want the business.

Disappointed“

“The sirloin tips were juicy. I tried their waffl, and it was DELICIOUS. I used to exclusively eat their harvest grain n nut pancakes and couldn't bring myself to have sirloin tips with their pancakes. I'm sorry, but not sorry. Their WAFFLES, however, are worth the 2 dollar upgrade. People were nice, and I felt comfortable in the booth. I didn't have any drink refill issues either.“

The service I received was Excellent.This Restaurant was packed on a Thursday morning with Hungry Patrons awaiting for their Tasty Meal to be served. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend.“

“So my 1st time at this place, pretty surprised to not see it overflowing on a Sunday. It was nice, staff was friendly, but they almost pulled a fast 1 on me. It was early afternoon but i was in the mood for dinner, got a 10 breaded shrimp plate with mashed potatoes with the skin on it, which I'm not fond of, n cheese sticks, n tartar sauce, not the red sauce. They serve me my plate, and my cheese sticks. I started on cheese sticks cause the waitress never brought tartar sauce, she brought the red sauce. Then i look at my shrimp plate n count only 7 shrimps, wtf. Like the cost of food isn't going higer, n you trying to rob me of 3 shrimps, what nerve. Anyway bon appetit to ev1 else.“
