“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

“I love Freddo. Their coffee and ice cream are fantastic (I love all of their Dulce de Leche flavors). Their empanadas, medialunas, and alfajores are great too. The people working there is nice and friendly. There is a nice patio in the back too. Parking can be tricky but you can always find a spot if you move away from Ventura. It’s open late too, so if you are looking for a espresso in the evening, this may be just the place for you“

“Easily some of the best ice cream you will ever have! Handel's makes their ice cream fresh daily, and you can absolutely taste the difference—it is incredibly rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Their menu is massive, so there’s always something new to try, but you can’t go wrong with the classics or their seasonal specials. “This review is overdue. First, I've been here twice and the service is just amazing. The ladies that work here are so nice and so is the guy in the back. Excellent customer service. Second, on the back of the Ralph's receipt (the supermarket in the same shopping center), they advertise, buy 1, get 1 free, which is an excellent deal. And, you can use the coupons over and over which is really cool. Third, they allow you to sample all of the flavorful ice creams and are very patient with you while you make your decisions. We normally get two cones with two scoops each and buy one, get one free! It's an amazing deal! We've tried the cookies n creme, salted caramel, butter pecan, strawberry cheesecake, and the chocolate- everything is so yummy and tasty.“

My friend got Sea Salt, and I ordered Strawberry Honey Balsamic and Sea Salt in a cup.
The portions were huge, and everything was delicious.

I also loved that you can sample the flavors before ordering.
My favorite was definitely the Sea Salt!

The shop was pretty quiet when we visited, so ordering and pickup were quick and easy.
