Extremely disappointed with the management at the Highlands location. I came in briefly yesterday to handle a time-sensitive emergency regarding my dog. While I was unaware of the recent 2025 purchase-to-sit policy, the staff’s refusal to grant a one-time, five-minute exception in an empty store was unnecessarily harsh.
Management at each Starbucks has the autonomy to decide how to enforce corporate rules, and choosing to kick out a local resident in distress—especially in a community still healing from the wildfires—is a poor look. If you’re looking for a 'third place' with actual community spirit, go to the Montana Ave location or the library instead. This manager clearly prioritizes rigid gatekeeping over customer service!“
