My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Cognoscenti Coffee on our interview date. The people working there is nice and friendly. There is a nice patio in the back too. Parking can be tricky but you can always find a spot if you move away from Ventura. It’s open late too, so if you are looking for a espresso in the evening, this may be just the place for you“

A chef stepped out with a dish and was taking photos outside, and on his way back we asked if it was new. He offered us the plate and told us it's coming onto the fall menu in a couple weeks. The food is absolutely excellent. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious, but the Burrito Kurito is my personal favorite! The smoothies are rich, fresh, and so yummy.

What makes this place truly special, though, is the people. The staff is incredibly friendly and always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. They treat you like family, and you leave not only with a full belly but also with a full heart.

“Wish I lived closer. As a first time customer I got a drink on the house, and they have a utopic pay-what-you-can model for future drinks. The cafe is spacious, and it’s the perfect place to either get work done or chat with some friends—it doesn’t seem dominated by either group. The baristas are very friendly and clearly excellent at their craft. They use high quality espresso, and the brown sugar latte was divine.“

'Nicely' and his team, really take the time to create your cup of coffee. They are helpful, thoughtful, and have a such a positive attitude. The standard coffee and espressos are offered as well as some signature drinks and the occasional specials. The later of the two is priced a little more then usual but it's Venice and it's nicer specialty beans/coffee.

If you're in a rush I wouldn't recommend Hooked because of the time and care put into each drink, that takes a little more time, as well as the crappy parking in the area. But if you have a relaxing morning or are catching up with friends, there's decent space in the Dudley Market space to hang while some sweet tracks are playing in the background.“
