“Not a single complaint. The lavender raf is better than any raf or lavender latte I've tried, and the fig leaf cold brew would top my list of cold brews. Service was friendly, latte art was great, and even the packaging & branding are memorable. If there's better coffee in LA, I haven't found it yet“

“the empanadas are exquisite. you have to try them to understand. this some homemade Argentina style 😋 deliciousness. Rico is a show to say the least. I will definitely stop by just to grab some more empanadas. my highlight of the boardwalk. like Rico says they're 🔥 fire.“

“The coffee itself is good and clearly made with quality beans.
However, the overall atmosphere didn’t feel quite right. The service felt distant, and the staff didn’t seem particularly happy or engaged, which affected the experience more than expected.
A café can have great coffee, but warmth and energy matter too. Hopefully this improves over time.“

“This coffee hub in Venice feels like the moment Abbot Kinney’s creative pulse meets the precision of third wave coffee. Opened in 2009, it helped define Venice’s modern café culture by turning coffee brewing into something closer to a performance than a transaction.
You step through the brick archway into a bright industrial space where baristas work in the open, pulling espresso and pouring filter coffees with the kind of care that makes you slow down and actually watch. The vibe channels Venice’s blend of artistry and edge with a mix of locals, creatives, and caffeine purists who treat this spot like a daily ritual. It is one of those rare cafés where the coffee is flawless, the energy feels alive, and the entire experience captures the spirit of Venice without trying too hard.“

“It’s so crucial to start your day right as it reflects in your mood through the rest of the day. Selina at Blue Bottle Venice does exactly that. We were visiting LA for 4 days and she was a breath of fresh air on a smoggy morning, took the time out to have a meaningful conversation with us while making us some really good coffee. She even remembered our names when we came two days later for a coffee. Small things like this go a long way and she is the reason why we loved our mornings in LA.“

“Highlights: vodka chicken cutlet (very good); dry red wine was very good (forget which one; happy hour price very solid)
Wouldn't get again: Pepperoni pizza (nothing special); focaccia (decent but came out lukewarm / cools off very quickly); cheesecake (too expensive for the size; wish it was served colder)
Too loud at night, kinda have to yell to talk.
Really cool vibe; love that they're playing actual vinyl records.
Really cool Faema E61 espresso machine (didn't try any drinks from it tho).
Service is very good.“

“Tried it yesterday. Stopped for a coffee and stayed for the outdoor seating. The cappuccino was excellent!“
“Fantastic locally owned neighborhood coffee bar. The quality of the coffee is unmatched. Everything is made in house, in small batches, and the effort really shows. Also the owner is lovely and super knowledgeable! If you’re in the area, it’s absolutely worth checking out.“

“Fun place, great food/coffee , great energy without all the excessive pretentious weirdness. The most authentic and sincere business in that area.“

“Passing this cute cafe for uncountable times, I finally made my way there. Yeah, it's always tricky visiting places at the busiest spot of Venice Beach - joy of finding parking spot in LA! Besides they mostly looked pretty busy on weekends, probably great stop to make while enjoying the stroll by the beach.
Their interior was nothing but SLAY. Period. Contemporary retro vibe, with great ambience to just sit killing time or even get some work done.
For the cup size, the coffee was quite pricey yet the great taste made it worth. I loved their Salted Caramel Latte, which was more on the sweeter side. I have been eyeing their pastries but unfortunately they were all gone when I arrived.“

“Over the past year Lokal has been my absolutely favorite place in LA. If you’re a Venice/ Santa Monica or even marina del ray or Culver City local you have to start regularly coming here.
Not once have I had a bad dish or a bad guest experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food and bevvies are super consistent and have not had one miss on this menu.
Whether it’s an on the go AM coffee, a small lunch burger to refuel me or a cozy dinner sandwich to wrap up my day. This place has been the spot.
The prices are extremely reasonably ( if not the most reasonable in West LA) and again, can’t emphasize the overall consistency enough. Love ya lokal!!“

“The absolute BEST place in the area. I come here almost every day for a delicious iced vanilla latte. Exceptionally nice service, great coffee, super clean place and just in general amazing vibes. Love this place and would highly recommend stopping by for a coffee or matcha. These people are awesome and deserve the love!“
“Been one of my top picks in west LA area. Have been to multiple outlets of theirs and all my coffee has always been nailed flawlessly. From their Butter Toffee, their popular vanilla, and their new orleans cold brew! The staffs have always been super warm and welcoming as if you’re their everyday regulars. Recently trying their salted caramel latte coming with those cute flowery toppings!“

“1. No customer bathrooms. Hard to give 5 stars when there’s no bathroom. Door not ADA friendly
2. No parking on the same side of the street but there’s free street parking within a 5 minute walk
3. 5 star coffee. They were out of the strawberry syrup but loved the vanilla latte.
4. $7 coffee
5. The decor/seating/wall is plywood and tile which feels eh, but comfy and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating“

“This coffee shop became the star of our trip. We stopped here on our way down to Newport with my kids and parents. The coffee and hot chocolate were so good, my kids and parents are begging to drive up from our Newport rental just to stop here again. The barista really cared about his craft, which is not something we see a lot of where we are from. This random stop for coffee was such a highlight for my family and we will definitely go out of our way to come here again next year.“
