“Food and service was excellent, highly recommend! My sister and I live in SD but were in Santa Monica for the day and stopped here for lunch. I got the cobb salad and my sister got the West Coast wrap and both were excellent. We both also got the Ginger Turmeric Lemonade which we couldn't rave enough about. We loved the soft hits of the ginger and turmeric, not overpowering, and it wasn't too sweet like other lemonades.Overall, the food was excellent and I couldn't say enough about how great the service was.I wish there was a location in SD so we could stop by for lunch more often but we'll definitely make sure to stop by again when were up in Santa Monica.“
“Omg so so so so good. All vegan donuts are fresh and made to order. I appreciate the local ingredients. I was supposed to attach a photo with this review but I ate them all in like 2.5 seconds. Also had the fizz drink and it was *chef's kiss*“
“Bodega has best of both worlds! You can grab a coffee and get some work done or you can grab a glass of wine and catch up with friends. I love coming here for both! Also their pizza is the best pizza in LA in my opinion ! At 5pm everyone puts their laptops away and it turns into an actual wine bar! LOVE IT ! Service is great! Ambiance is so cool! Lots of natural light which gives it a coffee shop feel! There's tall tables, a long bar and also couches to sit. They also have an outside patio for those warm sunny days !“
“I hosted my baby shower here on 3/23/24.I wanted a tea party with family & close friends and Mayra and her team went above and beyond! The tea service so delicious!!! And friends & family couldn’t stop complimenting how unique and beautiful of an experience it was.Definitely bringing my baby here for tea parties with her!“
“I was introduced to Sidecar Doughnuts in 2017. I have been a fan since. My favorite donut from them remains to be the Saigon Cinnamon Crumble. It is more of a cake-like texture and I like almost anything cinnamony. This donut tastes more like coffee cake. Coffee and sugar are my staples for everyday living. So, it is almost impossible for me not to love this donut as it has my basic necessities wrap up in one perfect little package! This time I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee to go with the donut. It didn't taste like a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee. Instead, it tasted more like an iced latte. So if you are looking for a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee, don't get it from there. Don't get me wrong, it was still good coffee just not what the name said it was. This location is off Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica about 7 blocks from the beach. I really like their packaging as well. The boxes the donuts come in are modern and simple with bold gold letters of the store's name. This location is small and has seating outside. There is metered parking on the street. Service was just okay. I wish the people working there could have been more friendly. All in all, this premium donut chain that started in Costa Mesa in 2012 is still very popular and is definitely worth trying for the first time, and going back for me!“
“The Menemen eggs were really good. My only wish to make them better would be to have it made with 2 eggs instead of one. The smashed eggs on toast was also delicious. My only desire would be for a nicer place (both inside and out) to sit and eat. The had seating outside, but it is right on the sidewalk and could use some decoration.“
“Cafe Lovi is our favorite neighborhood spot! The sandwiches are amazing. You will crave the challah bread after! They are also an Italian-style coffee shop. The espresso is amazing and our lattes are always the perfect ready-to-drink temperature. To top it all off, the staff are so welcoming and they are incredibly dog friendly! Our dog now guides us there on every walk!“
“I've visited cafes on five continents, and this is among the very best. The coffee beans are exceptional, and the execution is equally good. The Americano was appropriately dense, with a wonderful balance of acidity and bitterness. No sugar or milk needed. The baked goods are of matching quality, with scones that are fittingly dense with just a hint of sweetness. Best of all is the communal nature of the spot, with patrons eager to converse. And this, my friends, can't be bought or sold. We'll be back!Vegetarian options: Vegan English scone“
“I've been here at least 10 times and will continue to come here for the food and good vibes. There aren't that many places that offer healthy but consistently tasty food with good atmosphere in this area. I also love that there is always parking with outdoor seatings, and it's a self-service/to-go place. My favorite is their burrito, peanut butter smoothie, and their bowl with market fish. The only downside is that there can be a long line on the weekend prime time - I once waited 45 minutes with a friend on a sunny Saturday 11am but we just chatted and caught up so it was fine.“
“One of the very few bakeries in L.A. that offers a variety of low carb desserts. Furthermore, they also offer keto drinks. My favorite is the keto horchata, which tastes amazing, maybe even better than a regular horchata. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for vegan, low carb, gluten free, or any pastry for a particular diet.“
“Adorable little spot with a great vibe and delicious food and coffee. The staff is incredibly kind and the good is solid. I had the breakfast burrito and an Americano and they were perfect. Plenty of seating, including a large outdoor area right on main street in Santa Monica. Will definitely be coming back.“
“Cute Venezuelan cafe with drinks, sandwiches, and arepas. Came here with a friend on a weekday for lunch and ordered some arepas to split. Each order comes with two arepas. We tried the chicken, the stewed beef, stewed pork, and mushroom. All of them were tasty and came freshly made (it takes about 20 minutes for the cook time). I also had a matcha latte with honey which was very tasty and nicely sweetened. The service was friendly and efficient. You order/pay first before taking a seat. Dine-in and takeout are available. Credit cards accepted. Metered street parking. Indoor and outdoor seating available.“
“Ordered the vanilla honey latte and green rose boba along with a omelette and egg sandwich. The drinks were delicious and the food was a bit bland. Overall if it’s on your way you should go. Sitting is a bit limited on weekends since it gets busy.“
“A solid donut. From the outside this place looks like a typical donut shop but the inside is quite nice. We came in the evening which is probably the worst time to come for donuts since they are usually on low supply or a few hours to a whole day old. We ordered one chocolate donut and 1 glazed donut and both were super delish. Even after being there for a while they were soft and sweet. The lady at the front was super nice too. Always love supporting a small business.“
“A nice coffeeshop that has a minimalist decor with bright yellow color pop ups in cups, machines etc. The drinks are unique, their matcha combinations are quite good. The only thing I would change is to give option for sweetness. My hot matcha was too sweet for my taste. There is ample outdoor sitting area and also few seats indoors. The parking in this area might be an issue during weekends.“
“Gnarwhal Coffee Co. is a quaint and cozy coffee shop with outdoor seating close to the beach! All staff here are friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. I had the chai tea and fresh baked salted caramel cookie (off the hook). On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 6! Definitely worth a stop by morning or afternoon.Parking: This location is on the edge of downtown Santa Monica near the beach so parking is at a premium, but it is worth battling parking meters!“
“Well I'm impressed at absolutely how busy this place is. And now I can tell you deservedly so. The food was very good and the people who work there from the management to the runners to the counter staff and the Busters were just all very very nice and very thoughtful.“
“This place is fantastic. The chocolate chip sea salt cookie is one of the best in Los Angeles. I also ordered their egg tart which is a must if you stop by, it’s flaky and delicious. I also got the mazipan coffee which was good as well. There’s some tables outside and it’s counter served inside. The staff was very friendly and everything looked so good.“
“Goodboybob has the best almond milk and employees. The almond milk is clean and the nuttiness doesn't walk over the flavors of whichever chapati you're enjoying. Their baristas are not only craftsmen, but warm and welcoming. I live closer to GGET, but will make the drive out, because of these reasons. Sorry to compare, but the nuttiness of gget's macadamia milk is way overbearing and their employees have a glaze over their eyes. In this digital age, I guess that's become more common. All the more reason to make your coffee connections meaningful and delicious by choosing Goodboybob. I sound like their PR, but I'm not - just a fan!“
“Found Berlina after waiting for a relative at UCLA imaging. Very charming coffee shop with an inviting ambiance. Food and decor show care and presentation of sandwiches is very appetizing. The owner was as friendly as she was efficient but what I found most impressive was the care and attention that she provided to a gentleman who appeared to be homeless. She was patient with him and offered him a cup of drip coffee. I loved the German theme and signs inviting guests to learn relevant German words. I can definitely attest that my mocha and the service were "lecker!" Merci bien pour le super cafe et service!"“
“Such a great place to come for a quick little breakfast! I couldn’t recommend the griddle cakes enough. The classic OG griddle cake is phenomenal. Only downside to this location is that there is very limited seating, but usually you can find a seat by the time your order is ready. Everything here is à la cart, but the griddle cakes are enough to fill you up as they come in a stack of three— they don’t serve the griddle cakes after 12 PM I think! The staff here is so friendly and attentive, they brought the food right to the table and cleared my plate as soon as I was done.?As far as parking is concerned, there is metered street parking available! As far as accessibility, the counters are at a appropriate height for a wheelchair. The menus are very legible, only concern is big wheelchairs maneuvering around the small space. There was no ramp required for entry.Wheelchair accessibility: Tight space, might be hard to maneuver a large wheelchair around in. Not impossible, however.“
“This place is a bit far from all the traffic of people. We were the first customers for the night. Once we sat, people kept coming to look at the menu as we ate. I kept giving them thumbs up. The place got super full. The food was super incredible. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. If you are dining, I highly recommend the Portola fries... they are excellent. This is the second place I ordered them from. They are excellent. Your taste buds will explode. The Mediterranean salad was amazing. The Rosemary potatoes are excellent. The salami in the pizza was just ok. I think it needs a different type of salamy and a bit of salt, not too much on the dough. Otherwise, it was good. The calamari was excellent. We were so full that we did not have any dessert or tea. Next time, I hope the pizza gets improved and that the size is too small for price. The ambiance of the place was very nice. The waiter was amazing, very good and accommodating. Even our dog was happy and came with water that was served to her. Thank you Ugo...very nice addition to the area. I will definitely come back. The people around me loved their experience there. I was able to chat with a few as I left the restaurant. Thank you. Food is excellent“
“I came for a macchiato, which didn't impress me especially. A few hours later, I returned to see how this place would do on the food end. I ordered a ham and cheddar sandwich, which turned out to be the single most delicious thing that I ate during a three-day stay in the Santa Monica canyon. I like Rusti and would come back again for further coffee explorations. After all, no one is perfect! This coffee-shop-in-a-trailer business reminded me immediately of Highwire Coffee in Albany, CA yelp.com/biz/highwire-co… . I guess that this is a thing. It's a good thing too: what else are you going to do with that old trailer?“
“Got a latte made with almond milk it was average no complaints but, a bit overpriced for what you get. They have some nice outdoor seating, as well as some indoor. It’s very busy because the country mart is a great fun spot. I would probably just get a coffee and pastry from the farm shop which is no less expensive but I like it better. I will have to try their croissants in the future, they looked good. Also not that it is any doing by the cafe but the parking is free with validation but it was filled up like it usually is on the weekend and a spot opened and they told me I could only valet it for an extra 5 bucks which seemed odd.“
“I don't know what to say. I come here and tip, I'm patient and I don't ask for special treatment.I ordered an iced cortado. Essentially 1:1 milk to espresso. It's a known drink. A common thing to order. I got a heaping cup of milk. It was a latte. That's fine to be honest but then I bought an extra green juice to be nice and asked for them to remake the cortado. And then I'm made to feel like an idiot for wanting what I ordered. The lady tells me, "if you order a cortado here, that's what you're getting"Ok maybe just tell me there is no such thing as a cortado and I'll order a latte with less milk. I don't really have patience for people that treat meek people poorly. I didn't give any attitude. They gave me attitude, it was unfair.“
“This is the best cafe I’ve ever been in a long time! High quality coffee and fantastic service in a lovely environment! What else do you need to work, hang out and simply enjoy!!Wheelchair accessibility: Parking right on the back of the cafe! It’s also wheelchair friendly!“
“Here is a five-star café I have never experienced before. We were served two cups of beautifully crafted coffee by a skilled barista with a sense of artistry. I highly recommend this place to all coffee lovers. If you're seeking a great coffee experience, you must visit right now.“
“We came here while in town on the recommendation of a friend. Considering the area, the price point for the food and the portion sizes are a deal. We all got variations of meat pies and fish and chips and everything was very delicious. Staff was very friendly and well meaning;my only critique was that service was pretty slow to settle the bill, maybe they were understaffed that day. Regardless this place is worth.“
“Above and beyond my expectations. It was all in the details. Beautiful atmosphere that felt local and quaint. Service was friendly and cared deeply about their customers. Food was extremely fresh, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. We'll be back over and over again.Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options. The gluten free waffle and banana bread were worth the trip!“
“What draws me to this business the most, strangely enough, is the app. The design is trying to out basic basic, but it works and feels uncomplicated. I appreciate uncomplicated these days.I order the avocado toast every time I come here. It really is tasty which is surprising given their limited kitchen. But yeah, as my kids would say.....it slaps. The solid four stars is because I'm really not sure how I feel about the coffee. Also, it's another one of those businesses where you cannot speak to a live person. I don't understand how so many places get away with this.“
“My wife and i ordered a few smoothies(?) for the first time at Main Squeeze and we loved them! I don’t recall what my wife ordered but I ordered the Chocolate Thunda which was too awesome; the Rastaman waited on us, very friendly and chill. We’re in Thousand Oaks and going back there this morning! May try a breakfast but will get ‘that’ smoothie sometime today! ???“
“Definitely a surfer vibe coffee stop. On the way back to the car, we stopped for a pick me up and I ordered the Salty Dog cold brew. It was as salty as the ocean and I loved it. I paired it with my weakness - a blueberry muffin. The blueberries were as good as Jersey blueberries. The shop has plenty of seating as well!“
“I loved this place. The barista was really nice, and my tea was lovely. I got the Garden of Eden, which was an Earl Grey, steeped with a bunch of herbs, flavoured with maple cotton candy, with some maple syrup-like thing. It was wonderful. I highly recommend.“
“Nothing spectacular, the drinks are nice and I liked the rose coffee, but overall pretty expensive. Indoor seating was nice but again not as special as it was made out to be. Still would recommend a try if a place like this is up your alley.“
“This venue shares space with a Panda Express. There are a few tables and a counter with high stools. The plates and cutlery are lightweight plastic. The service was rapid and friendly. The food was good but not memorable. We did not try the baked goods, which were attractive..“
“I had a morning where I hadn't eaten anything, and I was super starving. This place turned out to be my savior . This unassuming place had everything I could want, and it came at just the right time. So grateful I found it just driving down the street.“
“Should have posted this sooner but I was out with some friends at night and needed a drink. The store was closed after hours and luckily the owner was inside and opened up the doors offering me a free drink on the house. He was very welcoming and super nice to all of us. This review should have been written a couple years ago but now I finally have a chance to write it!“
“Stopped and bought some coffee after all that bread ! Right down the street a block away from laylas bagels ( by the way, Layla’s bagels have really good coffee as well but we wanted to try the shop also) ordered the Mary’s Cuban !!!’mm excellent “
“pretty good if healthy eating is your thing. heaps of variety and can get eggs and avo etc or go nuts on some super food bowl of goodness. even got bone broth etc if you are into that thing or doing some crazy cleanse.. prices are fair for the food..“
“I LOVE New York Bagel primarily becuase, although it is called New York Bagel, most of the employees there do NOT have the NY attitude that makes the competing establishment a bit further to the east my least favorite bagel nosh in LA. New York Bagel offers fresh and delicious bagels, a decent selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and, most importantly to me, they are generally pleasant, acknowledge your presence, smile, and generally do customer service like Californians and not New Yorkers which is to say, not only will you get a delicious bagel but also feel like you are not having your food prepared by a person who really hates that you exist. Thanks NY Bagel. Love you guys :)“
“I have been all over california and try local coffee shops as much as I can. I really think this is a treasure spot for local residents. The staff is so friendly and inviting. I feel like there is hope for this world after going to visit this place. After stepping into this coffee shop, there is a sense of community. The shop has a piano and small stage where there are performances Sunday afternoons visited by locals. The got the house coffee and it was really really good. Highly recommend.“
“I have been to this coffee shop 3 times. They have really good breakfast options - I got a vegan chia seed cup the other day and it was really, really good (I'm not even vegan!). Their croissants are delicious and best of all, the dirty chai latte I got each time has been phenomenal. I will visit again next time I'm in the area.“
“Crimson is one of my favorite restaurants on the Westside of LA! For the longest time I parked at the meters, but they have parking lot that's free!Highly recommend getting the Salmon, I never had Salmon that tender before. Also the tomato soup is delicious!!!It's counter service, so you need to pay and then they will give you a #...which I prefer if I'm dining with friends so we can all just take care of our own order! This is my go-to place for having a business meeting, it's a great atmosphere and also pretty affordable in a quaint neighborhood!“
“Bestiessss although HIGHLY annoying when they don't put a lid on a regular ($5) cup of coffee. Like oh excuse me (clutches pearls) I didn't get the $8 cardinon latte. I still tipped you a dollar...put an effin lid on it!!! But great outside “
“Probably my favorite açaí bowl. I’am a açaí lover so I do try a lot of different places but this is really good. Special mention to the Power Bowl with a special mix of açaí, banana, blueberry, peanut butter, pea, protein, hemp mylk that make the base being so yummy and creamy. I highly recommend this place and will give a 5 stars.“
“The coffee here is out of this world! The coffee we had was sourced from Lightwave Coffee, a local company in LA, and we just had to leave with a bag of beans to take home after we tried their cold brew and espresso. The Kyoto cold brew (single origin Gesha) legit smelled like blueberries. The coffee doesn't just have a roasted "diner coffee" flavor, but it really smells like the tasting notes, from fruity to earthy to sweet. This was made super clear when the staff, who were really helpful and engaging, talked us through their roasting process and let us smell different beans from their bags behind the counter. The citrus notes really shone through. The chocolate notes really hit like chocolate. The space outside is lovely to sip your drink and read a book, catch up on emails, or enjoy time with friends!“
“I've lived in Santa Monica for 7 years and April 4, 2024 is the first time I stop in to order something. The coffee is excellent. It's better than Starbucks. Excellent pastries to choose from and they are absolutely delicious. I don't know of any other place that has pastries that taste as good as the ones here.Cozy atmosphere inside and outdoor seating is also available for those who wish to dine outside. What stood out the most was the amazing customer service that I received. It was genuine service. The kind of service where you can tell they really want to make sure that you are taken care of. You don't find that at hardly any place these days but I was delighted to find it here. I think I'm going to discontinue my 15 years streak with Starbucks and start coming over here.I highly recommend it!“
“This place is really cute!Small and humble, staff are really nice and make the best tasting boba ever! If you order from bubble boba the drinks come pretty quickly!I have to say this, the air conditioning is really good haha!! Overall, 5/5 from me ??“
“Groundwork Coffee has some of the best brew in the game and this location is no different than my usual spot in Larchmont Village. This is a very tiny shop but even without seating space, they still have a wall full of products you can buy and a good number of java options.I always get the Cold Brew + add in the ShroomWorks extract. Give me that natural mushroom high, baybee! It's a delicious coffee without the gross artificial flavoring taste you'll sometimes get in shroom drinks. A shining piece of this particular location, the staff! So friendly, so outgoing and they loved my bestie's Tiger Belly shirt. You like Bobby Lee, then you're good people in my book, lol! I have summer plans of biweekly beach trips and I will surely stop in for my morning pick me up here every time.“
“The pre-jam bagel at Layla's is the best thing since sliced bread. Get it on a plain bagel so that the bagel doesn't distract from the taste of the incredible seasonal blood orange and cara cara. Pro tip, grab a wet wipe from the side counter by the napkins dispenser so that you can cleanly devour your honey drizzled, succulent sun-soaked bagel of delight and mumble in joy as nectar-like citrus juices drizzle down the bagel into your waiting mouth. In order of favorites: The pre-jam on plain The marli add bacon or salmon, add tomato on sesame The laika on everything The scarlett on sesame And then, sammy's which is a solid egg n bacon sandwich but not on my list of favorites maybe because we got it on an everything bagel- recommended on a plain. Last thing, but most importantly, the rose petal matcha latte is the best drink in west Los Angeles hands down and I'm still dreaming about it now. *chef's kiss*“
