“HOW I LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing food! Amazing customer service! The art in that place is sooo breath taking! The food does come in a big portion, but you pay for what you get! If I do say so myself. I think it’s worth it! Sushi chiefs are great at making the sushi look beautiful and tasty! They don’t have much for birthdays or desserts but they did do me a “Happy B-Day” on my plate which I think was sooo funny and thoughtful. I recommend 100%! That cute, funny, waiter with the slick back hair call me!;)“

“My mother lives in Marina and we visit several times per year from Florida. I was searching for good sushi in the area, and came across the 5* reviews for Maido. And no wonder - Sushi is incredibly fresh and service is great. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. The inside restaurant is quite small, and the day we were there it was too cold to open the patio which looked very nice. Highly recommend Maido!“

“Hidden little jem! Come here a lot and always make sure to get the Spicy Chirashi, the appetizer Mussels. Only place you'll find this delicious spicy chirashi and I've eaten all across this peninsula. They have so many rolls, you'll definitely find something delicious here.“

“Delicious, fresh food and a warm, homey atmosphere! My family was looking for some noodles and soup to warm us up, and New Tokyo did not disappoint in the slightest. We ordered:
• pork cutlet - it was big but cut nice and thin for ease of dipping into sauce
• ramen with BBQ pork - a solid bowl of soup noodles that was just the right size
• butter and corn ramen - personally as a corn fan, this hits the spot!!
• katsudon - the sauce was so good, and the chicken was very tender.
• tempura udon (Not pictured) - one of the best tempura I've had in a while. It wasn't too oily, and it was still light and fresh. Definitely a work of art ♡
• sashimi platter - each cut of seafood was fresh and delicious
For those lovers of hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop shops, New Tokyo is the epitome of that out here in the heart of Marina.
P.S. wish I tried the chirashi ?“

“service was good, sushi has good flavor but is 1/3 what you get at other places. maybe 1/8th of a roll from Arigoto. For the same price. Up side is great service and never busy when I have been there. very good for last minute large groups.“

“Fabulous shrimp teriyaki. I've never received so many pieces of shrimp in one plate/bowl (compared to the other popular Asian eatery in the food court). The shrimp, veggies, and rice, were deliciously fresh and tasty. This will definitely be my go-to when I visit the mall.“

“First time dining here and I was surprised and glad at how much portions I got from my meal and how excellent it tasted. I’ve traveled to Japan and have had pork Tonkatsu and this was so delicious. Rivals that for sure. And the price wasn’t bad. 16 dollars or so for this entire meal. The atmosphere was nice as well, you have local soccer teams being played on the television sets and it was nicely furnished. Staff working was A++++“

“So so yummy! Been coming here for years and always receive great service. The staff is always friendly and you can really tell how hard working everyone is because this place gets packed at times. There are options for everyone whether you’re gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan!
Vegetarian options: Vegan options include all the sauces, white/brown rice, noodles and veggies.“

“I love this restaurant! My favorite is the chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura roll. It's really good. I frequently stop for take out on the way home to watsonville!
Dietary restrictions: I can't eat onions and many places use onions in their teriyaki. So happy they don't!“
