“Decided to give them another try after a long while. The traditional food is really good as that’s where they shine. I would still clear of the burgers, nothing wrong with it, but I would go to a burger place for a burger and stick to Zareen’s for traditional food. The charga is incredible!!“

What's unique about a smaller restaurant like Nomadic Kitchen is that you feel the place more intimated. I like how the owner/manager and server take a great care of us. When we are about to order 4 choices of mezze, the owner/manager said he will take care of the choices for us and give us samples of everything else as well. The result: the beautiful palette of colors and flavors! I was a bit surprised that we got bread rather than pita. Still, it was amazing! We got the grilled lamb, which is quite nice, no hard-to-chew pieces at all. On top of that, the rice and bulgar (I guess) are so delicious with different fragrance and texture. The dishes are well thought out and so healthy as well. This place becomes one of the most amazing Mediterranean restaurants with reasonable prices. I definitely will come back and eat there again.“

“Excellent servers, friendly owner and the atmosphere is very cozy and beautiful. The red pasta was al dente & yummy. The pizzas crust is just too crispy, hard and thin for us. The toppings tasted great though. The oil drops add great flavor. I still recommend trying once in case you like their type of crust.“

“The decor and atmosphere is beyond beautiful along with the presentation 5/5 along with friendly waitresses who came by in the beginning but nobody followed up toward the end since it was self service menu online.

The Shawrma sandwich was 4/5
However the rice 🍚 plate with kabobs was 3/5, meat was decent but probably the worst rice I have tried at any restaurant. I just couldn’t eat, tasted stale something like you would taste from the previous day, I asked the server to get us another rice as it didn’t taste good as it seems like an old patch. He went back there and got me the same rice but warmer. I mean how bad can you mess up the rice. I would rather been told we don’t have any rice right now but we have a salad as alternative I would have took that than dealing with rice that I paid for and can’t eat.
I also go 2 sides of fries, 🍟 they were good but double fries killed the enjoyment of the potatoes. Either they double fry them or get them frozen pre fried which didn’t match the quality and standards this restaurant has been given.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t pay for the premium prices and lower quality again. I’ll probably get the chicken shawarma but that’s about it.“

“I'm SO glad someone mentioned 'mom & pop' - this place reminded me of the local places I grew up going to in Hawaii... (& hard to find here)

The Bento boxes are so oishi!!! The salmon teriyaki serving was huge and cooked perfectly (both pieces)... We also got chicken katsu & chicken teriyaki - both were great. Veggies - cooked & a side salad... Great value for the portions.

Now someone mentioned the curry was 'watery' - that IS Japanese curry. I didn't order it this time, but that's on my list to try on our next visit.

“Great Korean food! I like that I can build my own binimbap with salad. I also requested French fries with cheese and homemade kimchi since I liked it when I tried from a food truck before. Sooooooo good! Not on the menu, but worth asking for.“

“We ordered the kalua pork and a combo plate seafood BBQ mix with shrimp and chicken katsu.
The combo plate was huge but it felt like an ordinary dish you could get anywhere else. A bit bland nothing special.
However, the kalua pork was right on point. It tasted really good, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. That dish definitely stood out and made the meal worthwhile. If you go, I’d recommend sticking with the kalua pork.
The Hawaiian cookies was such a sweet surprise to see them there that I bought the guava flavor one. It instantly took me back to beautiful memories of a special place in Hawaii with family. Every bite felt nostalgic and comforting. 🌺“

“What an amazing finding! We very much enjoyed the delicious empanadas from La Maja. The dough was crispy and perfectly baked. We tried different ones: Spinach, mushrooms, beef, ham and cheese. They were all outstandingly authentic and reminded us of our childhood back in Argentina! The place was clean, cozy and we felt very welcomed. Customer service is excellent! You don't want to miss this jewell in Redwood City downtown. We will definitely be coming and ordering back from La Maja.“

“Food is great. Hands down, no questions about that. I get take out from this place at least once a month, mostly the veggie ramen.

I dined in once with a friend for lunch on a weekday, which was nice. No wait, so it was quiet enough for a good chat over food.

My friend was late that day, so I got seated first, and I was asked multiple times if I'm ready to order while I was waiting for my friend. I understand checking on your customer, but it was also rather obvious that I had no control over the other party that was l ate, and their checking in was just a disguise to pressure me to order something ASAP. I ended up ordering before my friend arrived just so they will stop asking, so that wasn't very pleasant.

The kicker? The restaurant was only half full, and every table was averaging 2 people each. Rushing me out does not give my table to any waiting, so that made me feel unwelcome I some odd way.

Bottom line is, the food is fantastic, and it still does even with take out, so I'll probably just stick to that for all future meals.“
