“I do not frequent this area often but was in town for work. Was looking for a lunch spot and saw the great reviews and photos of the food. I opted for the Chilaquiles with carne asada red sauce. I'm telling you...it was the best serving of Chilaquiles I have ever had. Perfectly soaked chips with great sauce and onions...the meat was super flavorful. I will 100% be stopping by every time I'm in the area so I can try it all. Give them a try!“

The carne asada and al pastor are tasty. They also have fish or shrimp as an option too, which are just as delicious. Veggie options are available too, including butternut squash.

But my favorite cut of meat is actually the campechanos, which is a mix of beef, chorizo and pork. It’s cool to see a unique type of meat that not everyone offers.“

“So happy to find a delicious and friendly restaurant that doesn’t close in the afternoon in my neighborhood. We have been there several times in the past couple months and I’m still trying new things on the menu. My husband tried the ribs which he said were the best he’s ever had and half the serving went home with him. It was huge! Desserts are exceptional especially the flan. I’m still exploring their vegetarian options but so far my favorite is their version of chili relleno. Come and relax and enjoy the food and friendly atmosphere!“

“There is a second part to this review, which is 1 ⭐️ . I will get to that in a moment .

Let me start off by saying I am a burrito guy. I realize this place opened in my neighborhood and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. They’ve got a couple of reviews talking about how the food wasn’t that good etc. I live off of burritos and that is far from the truth.
The burrito itself was very tasteful. The seasoning was perfect. The rice is good. The shell was cooked exactly how most people would like it.
Let me get to the one star part of My review now.
First at the counter, the guy worked in the counter, gave him my order. It was hard for them to understand kept repeating, and I gave them specific directions slowly on how I wanted my burrito made. When you tell somebody no beans and then two minutes later they come back and say you don’t want no beans no I don’t. When you tell somebody I want cheese and then they come back while they’re sitting there typing something in and say do you want cheese. With that said that’s minimal here’s the bad part. My wife cannot eat dairy I told the first person three enchiladas and no dairy, no cheese and no sour cream. I said all three of those things however I should’ve only been able just to say no dairy and they should understand that, but I specifically said no cheese and sour cream.. Specifically said my wife cannot have dairy. After talking to the lady in the back going back And fourth. The lady comes out and continues my order. She’s really a hard worker and tries too hard but I think it’s a slight language barrier. She repeated to me no sour cream and no cheese and I said correct as I’m leaving getting my order she opens it to show me, how the enchiladas were and I said oh is that sour cream she said yes I said no sour cream. My wife cannot eat dairy no cheese and she goes oh no cheese?. So she takes the tray back rather than make a new one she scraped the sour cream out of the tray and was not aware of that at the time when I got home, I had to wipe it out with paper towels. I think they personally should’ve grabbed another tray possibly remade the order if it was the neighborhood of dairy. That’s just my opinion, but the food was great. Have a good day.
I went well before lunch place was not busy only one other customer there so no reason to get mixed up here. So I don’t want to dock them for the food and trying just making people aware who can’t have dairy. Be careful.“

“Delicious huge burritos at a great price. Came here after seeing the good reviews, and other reviewers weren't lying, these are great burritos. The veggie burrito is large and tastes great. The cheese was melted perfectly in it, the Spanish rice was properly cooked and seasoned, and the salsa in it was perfect. I usually don't get chicken burritos, but I tried it as someone else in my party ordered it; the chicken is more like tinga de pollo (shredded seasoned chicken) which I've never had before, but it was amazing. 10/10 I'd come back here when I'm in the area. The service was also quick and very nice. We asked for extra salsa, and more napkins and a to-go bag, and they obliged.“

“5 stars! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, extensive menu, great prices, great value! my super burrito must have had a pound of carnitas, and hubby's mixed fajitas was plentiful as well. Fresh chips and salsa varieties available at the front, along with fresh water, self serve. we asked for containers and got free, fresh chips as well. Let's all support this family business!“

“I should have taken a picture, but I scarfed the burrito down so fast! I just wanted to rave about this place and their wonderful customer service. I came in and asked for a simple bean and cheese burrito. I paid and then it occurred to me after to ask what kind of beans they use (I'm 7.5 months pregnant and for whatever reason, only like refried beans.... oh, pregnancy!). He said they only use whole beans. I tried to see if I could get something else for the same price I paid (which he was so nice about), but ultimately decided, "Oh well, I'll just stick with what I ordered!" “I don’t think they are still cash only because I think they accept Apple Pay/card now. This was also one of my go to spots for burritos while I’m on the go and I know people also like their tacos, ceviche, and tostadas. Prices have gone up in general over the years but I was shocked to see a $20 super burrito back when it was less than $10 in the past. I love Carne Asada and I got the carne asada regular burrito and it never disappoints, can last me up to 2 meals. I also got the pickled vegetables, red and green sauce as well as chips. I didn’t have to wait too long, they’re located at the parking lot across smart and final at the old furniture store parking lot and there’s a table outside off of Sonoma Boulevard. Service is quick and great! And glad to see them still in business over the years!

“Best case of mistaken identity ever!

I walked in mistaking it for Vallejo Brewing Company right after they closed for the night, but the menu was so enticing I had to come back during business hours!

The red beans and rice with Cajun shrimp is an INSTANT comfort food go-to, and not to start drama, but a certain barbecue place on the block could learn a thing or two about making amazing cornbread from this chef! The perfect, fresh baked, sweet and buttery portion of cornbread I've had since my mom's recipe.

The $7 cocktail special was also amazing, not too powerful but not so watered down you couldn't feel it!

The gal working the counter was sweet as can be both times I've been in as well.

“Always amazing! This place....I’ve been to about a dozen times, but this was the first time since this Covid-19 business. I walked up to the front door which faces the street, and ordered at the new ordering window, my mask donned. La Bamba remains delicious, Covid be damned. The Pupusas Revuelta was tender, juicy, handmade....perfect. Never gets old. The pickled cabbage, pickled to perfection. The salsa....a nice kick but not overbearing, not gonna overpower the pupusa, and provides a nice little bit of heat. I doubt I’ll ever get tired of this place.“
